This is a replica [note I did not say copy] of the 59 Gibson Les Paul. I purchased this in Japan where it is manufactured. It truly is a replica in every aspect. features as set mahogany neck on a mahogany body with a highly figured flamed maple [Sycamore] top. The finish is an old school two color brown and yellow sunburst. Tokai does not make their own pickups they are supplied by dimarzio and are their PAF version. All features and specs as per the 59 LP. Chrome humbuckers and hardware.
Weights about 9 1/2 lbs.

Sounds great, what can I say. The pickups are very articulate, great definition and sustain. Typical LP sound in every way.

Fit and finish is great. The nut needed some adjustment other than that it was great. The action is low, the frets are very well done. No buzz no rattle no work needed.
One thing about a 59 LP you need to know. The nut width on the Gibson was 1 11/16" this is a bit wider than Gibson produced in other years. The neck profile is in between the 58 model which was very round and thick vs. the 60 which was narrower [1 5/8" nut width] and thinner.
Overall very nice, feels great.

Come on, this thing is a tank. The finish and hardware are first class. This thing will last as long as any Gibson will.

Never had to use them, never needed any work. Hard to give a fair rating on this one.

Fantastic deal. Purchased in Japan for around $800. Compare that to any 59 Lp reissue offered by gibson today. Do the math this is a no brainer. I have been playing for over 40 years, I have a very large collection. I have owned just about anything. This is equal to ANY Gibson LP I have ever owned.
