Build date 4/19/05, cherry burst with HH and stoptail bridge. Non-lockig tuners, drop dead gorgeous. it has everything I would have order if it were being built "custom" for me, except for the tuners (I have a thing for locking tuners!). But to be fair, the Anderson non-locking tuners are great, and so far string changes have been a breeze! The neck and action required a minor tweak once I got home, but the guitar had been in the store (Manny's, NYC) for several months. This baby lives up to the hype, she plays like melted butter and has all the tone and looks that should come with that pricetag!

OK - here's where the guitar really shines! The hollow sound chambers make all the difference in the world. The solid body Cobras I played were sounded to heavy-handed for my taste and style. The Hollow Cobra's sound is clearer (if that's the right word for it) in the upper mids and highs. There really isn;t a bad pickup selection on the guitar. I've now had a chance to play it through my Mesa Lonestar 1/2 stack, Bogner Shiva combo and Fender Hot Rod amps. The
Action, Fit, & Finish

I am very impressed with all areas of the action, fit and finish. I had to tweak the neck to my liking, the dry air in the music store had left the action a little high. But now she's perfect...
I have no doubt it left the factory perfect, but probably hadn't had the neck adjusted since last April -- 11 1/2 months ago. I'll give it a 10 here because it was such a minor adjustment I made there's no reason to believe it wasn't perfect when shipped.

Haven't owned it long enough to rate this. No reason to think it won't be a reliable axe, but no reason to soeculate either!

So far I'm REALLY please. I called the factory regarding locking tuners, and I got a call back the same afternoon! Roy even knew the serial #/ build date of my guitar just by me describing it to him over the phone!

I've been playing 20+ years, and this guitar really speaks to me. I own some other really great guitars (PRS) and this is equally incredible to play. I it were lost I'd have to have been really drunk, and if it were stolen I'd be hunting the bastards down - but I'd have to talk to my wife about replacing it - this was a one-time only type of layout for a guitar...$1000 more than my PRS cost!
