Manufactured approximately 2003 or 04. 24 fret semi-hollow. One tone/One volume ( originally ). 2 HumBuckers w/3-way p/u switch. Pick-ups are no-name OEM. High-gloss finish with body binding. Gold hardware. Common Gotoh-type tuners. Tune-o-matic and stop-tail bridge setup. Fairly thin set-neck profile. This instrument is meant to emulate a PRS McCarty hollowbody. No case but when I called the company and asked about obtaining one they said to get a PRS case.

Sound : 10
I play Blues and Classic Rock. When I bought this Guitar I was unhappy with the OEM pick-ups and the control array. I wanted more than 3 sounds and I wanted more punch. I removed the controls and the pick-ups and replaced them with 2 DiMarzio distortion "buckers" and two 500K push/pull pots ,,,, no tone control! Now I have two Volume Controls and split-coil capability. Much greater array of tone and drive levels. I don't miss the tone control at all !! No noise and a bit brighter sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The OEM settings were quite good but, every discerning Guitarist wants to tweak their instrument. I raised the pick-ups attempting to optimize their performance. IMHO it didn't really help very much. Hence the aforementioned replacement. The quality of this instrument was never in question. There are no finish or hardware flaws. Clean and straight grained wood. Tuners hold tune well in spite of severe string-bends and other extreme use. No fret issues. Neck was and still is quite straight with NO FRET BUZZ AT ALL.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have played this Guitar really hard and left it in a cold car overnight. I'll allow it time to warm again to room temp and invariably, it is still in tune. I would absolutely use it without a backup instrument if I had to. No finish issues at all and it will polish to a gloss sheen if I spend the time and effort.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No real issues here but it was a bit of a search to get in touch with the company. My only disappointment is that they do not make a case for this instrument.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 40-plus years and I own several classic Gibsons and a classic Epiphone. A 2004 Epi Les Paul. Fender, Squier, SX/Strat knock-offs, a Tradition Jerry Reid/Tele-style model, etc. etc. All told approximately 30 plus Guitars/Basses. This is one of my top 4 Guitars-of-choice because it is comfortable to play and easy to keep in control and in tune. Also, IT JUST PLAIN SOUNDS GREAT !! If somebody stole this I would definitely hunt them down and get it back AND buy another one

I play Rock N Roll and Blues and have been doing so for 42 years. I was going to buy another Gibson after owning one many years ago. I quickly realized that they are overpriced for what you get.I knew that they were expensive however are they worth it? In my opinion, NO. The finishes are thinner and the craftsmanship is now in question too. To save money I noticed Gibson is offering a dual cuttaway model LP in a worn finish. So that is what I went to look at as well as keeping an open eye to others as well. The Gibson played OK. However the faded yellow finish looked like a solid outdoor patio deck stain with open grain showing thru. Very tacky indeed. The overall guitar was nothing more than a milled slab of mahogany with edges rounded. This is an exercise in true minimal effort in craftsmanship as well as a maximum effort in milking the general public out of hard earned dollars for a cheesy product. I could go on but this is about the Tradition Guitar here.
The Tradition MTP 450 is done in a PRS style but is semi hollow.
The sound was first rate as well as the quality of woods, fit and finish, and the final finishing. Bullit proof, fancy, good looking, slick, light weight, very good electronics, and a thin fast set neck that goes all the way up on both sides for clearence. Tradition guitars, for me represent a very very great value for the dollar spent. And it sounded better than my old Gibson Les Paul Custom that was stollen a few weeks ago.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
The factory set up is very good. Minor adjustments needed only, if that.I raised the lower pick up a little. It sports very close fast action on the neck which is not overly wide. The maple was bookmatched better than the big names. Fit-up of the neck and all parts, including binding, was first class. The wood used is of top quality. The MTP 450 has a very heavy and durable poly finish that really pleases. Unlike Asian guitars of just a few years ago, as well as many now, the gold plating and the electronics are much improved and probably as good as the American competition in this case.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have only had this Tradition MTP 450 for four months but I have no reason to believe that it's reliability would be anything less than the big name American counterparts would be.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No warrenty issues at all.

Overall Rating : 10
I will compare this to any guitar from any manufacture in it's type of style irregardless of price and say that it competes with the best of them and comes out a winner. I have had too many guitars to mention but this is one of the best values of them all.

Mine is a 2002, Korean made. Two humbuckers, tone and volume knobs, 3-way toggle. Triangle shaped inlay with a flame maple top, mahogony neck and back. Originally was a cherry sunburst, but dog put a big chip right in front of the stop tail piece so I refinished her to a honey amber. Looks very cool now and has a crisper, fuller tone too! Thanks to my dog! came with gold hard ware, still all original. Would like to see a push/pull feature and volume/tone for each individual pick up.

Sound : 10
Sound is great. This is a great knock-off guitar. It has a very unique tone, sounds hollow, but not so hollow. Great clean sound and rhythm is the best. I play it through a crybaby 95q, a danecho, cool cat, boss phaser, to a mesa "maverick" dual rec, and also a fender deville. I think it is one of the best sounding hollowbodies on the market, second to only maybe a gibson es or a prs hollow. Bang for your buck you can't go wrong.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Factory was okay, but I use 12's on it to get a full tone, its mostly my rhythm guitar, so I had to adjust neck a bit to allow, comes with very low action. finish was nice, very sleek.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I played out with this guitar for about 2 years straight. I refinished this guitar(had never done a set neck or electric). still has all original hardware, never broke down, never any unwanted sounds. Stayed in tune through entire shows with no problems. I still use this guitar on a daily basis, It is rock solid, you cant go wrong.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with company

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 14 years and this is one guitar I will never sell. it is solid, sounds great, plays great. i actually prefer it to a prs. It could use new pick ups, seymour duncan '59's would sound great! but it is a great guitar

2003 Made Tradition MTP450 TL, this is in Cherry sunburst, semi hollow PRS shape with Gold plated hardware, the tree of life inlay down Maple neck with Rosewood 23 3/4" fretboard, triple laminated maple top. Overall this guitar looks absolutely great, unbelievable features on it for the money

Sound : 10
The twin humbuckers have very little excess noise, signal is strong enough to give great rock/blues distortion though, with enough clarity to ring through when clean, really high quality sound, the semi hollow "ring" is also brought through beautifully whilst maintaining sustain as well, sounds a bit thin unplugged, but through an Orange AD5 it really kicks.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The only fault I can give it is an ever so slight bit of colour bleeding around the top body horn into the binding, the maple top is very good looking and well matched, and to think this is the only criticism I can think of for a guitar that cost 1/4 of what that the equivalent PRS would have!!!
The action out of the box was exactly as I would have it, just had a slight readjustment of one of the saddles and it was up and running!

Reliability/Durability : 10
The hardware looks like it will last a long time, feels that way too, strap buttons hold very well, nothing about this guitar says "cheap" to me.
In fact Tradition give a lifetime guarantee on these things, are you listening in, US manufacturers?

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not had to deal with, the way it should be

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing 18 years now, gigged at various levels, owned a dozen or so various guitars. I currently play a Musicman Silhouette, Takamine Acoustic and this. This is more fun to play than the others, no kidding, not quite as well made, but damned close. Would definitely recommend/buy again from Tradition, in fact I can only see their prices going up from here, so if you're looking, buy soon
