Tradition S2002 Limited Edition. Two humbuckers. These hums are amazing. I was planning on changing them out but they sound great. Mahogany body with maple cap. Nice frets and great neck. Very easy to play. Very versatile guitar. Does classic rock; blues; jazz; modern rock.

I play in a top 40 cover band and the Tradition covers a lot of territory. I use this along side my strat and I am set for all the types of music that we have to play. This guitar sings with sustain. I can't find anything wrong with it.

When I was looking for this guitar I called Tradition and they helped me track one down. I took a risk with this guitar and I am glad that I did.

I own a Gibson LP from the early 70's that was passed on to me. It's a great guitar. This tradition sounds just as good. I realize that this sounds too good to be true but it really does. I paid $800 for the guitar and it was worth every penny. Don't get caught up with a name on the headstock. You can save yourself a ton of money and get an LP that is just as good as one that will set you back for $2000. I do love my Gibson LP but honestly I don't play that guitar as much since I got this Tradition. It's just that good. If you can find one of these just buy it. The S2002 limited edition is a must have.

After reading the last review I had to find one of these guitars. I've been searching for a good LP for a few months now and have settled on this Tradition. I was lucky enough to pick up a used Tradition s2002 limited edition. The guitar is beautiful. I switched out the hums based on the recommendation of some reviews with the seymours (sh-2 and sh-4). Took this guitar to a whole new level. I could tell that this guitar was going to sing as soon as I strummed the first chord. The body is solid mahogany with a 5/8 maple cap. I wouldn't even wasted my time with picking up the newer Gibby LP's. I got this one for a song considering all that it capable of doing. The neck is like a late 50's gibson neck and the fretwork is amazing. Very comfortable to play.

This is hands down the best Les Paul style guitar that I have ever played. I've been playing guitar for 15 years and have been fortunate enough to tour around the country. Perfect for rock! I get so many compliments on my tone. Great guitar for cutting through the mix and beefing things up. I love everything about this guitar.

The finish on mine is stunning. It's a beautiful tobacco burst with creme binding around the body, neck and headstock. MOP T inlays up the neck and on the headstock. Most people think this is some kind of boutique guitar that set me back thousands of dollars. There is just no need to be spending large ammounts of money to get a great guitar these days. I'm not sure what Tradiition is doing but they got something right.

Solid guitar. I play 4 nights a week and this guitar never stops producing what I need it to do. It screams every night. Solid tune; great intonation; spot on. I alway play with a back up but the Tradition stays on my shoulders for most of the night. I haven't played my gibby ever since I got this. It just doesn't feel as good.

The guys at Tradition are amazing. They actually answer the phone when you call and are very helpful. They are musicians that care about those of us who are out there playing and loving music. I threw tons of questions at them when I bought the guitar and they had no problem taking the time to help me out. Great company.

If you can find a Tradition s2000 or s2002 which is the same model just get it. If you are looking for an amazing LP guitar for a lot less money this is the one to get. I have played several imports and the Tradition is the one to get. With the original pups it sounds great; throw some seymours in it and you will have a guitar that will make you smile everytime you play. The sustain on this guitar goes on forever due to the solid mahogany body and the 5/8 maple cap. Do yourself a big favor and stop waffling on whether or not you should buy this guitar. Just buy it. You won't regret it.

Solid Mahogany Body; maple cap with a beautiful flamed maple tobacco burst finish. I bought this one used on ebay. It came with a seymour sh-2 and a sh-4. Made in 2002 in Korea. Came with a gibson hardshell case. The neck is slim, wide and comfortable. It is really easy to play. The action is nice and low with no fret buzz. You will be surprised.

I play rock and blues and this tradition s2002 nails the classic rock and blues tones. I'm running the guitar through my Swart SST-30 head and a Heritage Victory Head. It sounds incredible through both amps. Huge; Fat; Warm and cuts through the mix. The sustain on this guitar goes on forever. The solid mahogany with the maple cap and the seymour's make that happen better than any other guitar that I have ever owned. This is a great Les Paul style guitar. The only thing I don't like about the guitar is the pickguard but that is an easy fix with your standard LP pickguard. This is just one small complaint.

The guitar was set up well when I received it. It came with 9's but I threw some 10's on there to give it a little more gerth. The finish on this model is beautiful. Flamed maple top; solid mahogany body and you can actually see the wood grain on the back of the guitar. I hate it when paint jobs cover up the wood. It always makes me wonder what they are trying to hide under all that paint. Very well done on this Tradition.

The guitar is solid and has stood the test of time with me. I play hard and often and this guitar never fails me. I replaced some of the hardware on the guitar. I put a locking bridge and tail piece on only because it irritates me when I am changing strings for those pieces to keep falling off. I had the guitar rewired with 18 gauge wire and switched out the pots with CTS pots. I do this with all the import guitars that I have owned over the years. It makes a difference. This is part of the reason why they are able to keep the cost down on these guitars. The hardware is a little on the cheap side but it's an easy fix. The tuning keys are fine and hold their tune well. I didn't bother changing those. I wail on this guitar night after night and she holds her tune well and keeps screaming her little heart out.

I've been playing guitar for over 30 years now. I'm not rolling in money but I do make a living playing guitar. I have to be careful when throwing down the cash for a guitar. I have owned a few Gibson LP's and they are great guitars. For the money I would go with a Tradition. Gibson's will get stolen because of the name on the headstock. Not a lot of people know what a Tradition guitar is and usually just pass it by. Most people are impressed with my tone that comes from this guitar and it looks like the real deal. I didn't buy this guitar because it looks like a Les Paul; I bought it because it plays and sounds great. I paid $500 for this guitar which included the seymour pups and the hardshell case. If these upgrades weren't in the guitar I probably could have gotten the guitar around 3 to 4 hundred (only because it was used). The street price on these guitars new is $700 new. This is still a great deal for such a great guitar. The upgrades were a must for me. I liked the stock pups from the other traditions that I have played but I am a seymour fan. Especially the sh-2 sh-4 combo. It just suits my style. Do yourself a favor and pick up one of these guitars. If you throw in a few upgrades you will have one of the best LP style guitars out there today. I am very happy with this guitar.

My Tradition S-2002 Limited is metallic black. It has gold hardware, white binding on the neck, headstock, and both sides of the body. It also has real abalone inlay in the fretboard and on the headstock. The body is a Les Paul shape, mahogany with a maple cap. It has 22 frets. The pickups are Tradition Gold Medallion humbuckers.

The Gold Medallion pickups are nice but might be a little too cutting. I`m playing through a Line 6 amp also.

This is where this guitar shines. The construction is super. The frets were properly dressed from the factory. You can get incredible low action without any buzz or fret out. The neck is slim and wide, extremely nice and comfortable. The finish is a beautiful metallic black that`s tougher than nails. This guitar blows away ANY Les Paul that I`ve ever owned without any doubt.

I have been playing for 40 years and if something would ever happen to this guitar I would try to find another. The metallic black finish is very rare as Tradition made only 18 or 24 in 2002. In my opinion the Tradition S-2002 is as close to perfection as anyone could hope for.

Les Paul custom copy made in Korea. But this one is different. It really does have a maple cap over a mahogony body and the weight shows it. Has a very comfortable wide thin mahogany neck. The finish is a gorgous wine with a flame maple top, gold hardware and pickups.

Honestly, I had a problem here.I was curious how close this thing would sound to real LP's so the first thing I did was drop in a set of pickups that I use. The guitar sounded great but didn't have the "punch" in a stage setting to cut through that my real LP's have, kind of thin. I ended up replacing the wiring with 18 gauge and replaced the jack and this thing really came to life. Fantastic tone that rivals the real deal with the punch to spare.

No problems with the setup. Actually, out of curiosity, I found that I could lower the action so low without any fret buzz that it was too low to be playable. Setting it to my liking was a breeze. But the factory neck pickup was tilted at an angle due to where the cover mounts over the route. Since then I've noticed that other Tradition LP's have this same problem. Had to barely shave the inside of the pickup route with a dremel to solve it. Other than that everything is perfect. Tuners are very smooth and solid.

I waited to write this review after I had used the guitar for a while, and it has proven to totally reliable, solid as a rock. I wish it had come with chrome hardware but so far the gold is going strong.

The guy's in the other reviews aren't kidding. I've used LP's for about thirty years and I really enjoy having this guitar. Not only does it save wear and tear and concern on my Gibson Les Pauls, I honestly can't tell the difference when I'm using this one. It has the weight, the tone, and very comfortable to play. Just unbelievable. If it was stolen I wouldn't be able to sleep until I got my hands on another.

FUNNY I FOUND IT AND A TRADITION S20 ,IN A CORNER BOTTOM SHELF AT THE GUITAR SHOP. BEING A OWNER OF A 69 DELUXE LP GIBSON, I GAVE IT A TRY. AND WAS BLOWN AWAY.
THIS ONE FELT HEAVIER AND WAS AS SMOOTH AS THE GIBBY. I PLUG INTO THE SHOPS PEAVEY XL SUPREME AND A JSX AND THE TRADITION ROARED. NO CRAPPY, SQUEELIN, AND WITH THE LOW ACTION ,NO FRET BUZZIN. BOTH OF THE GUITARS HAVE BEEN SITTING THERE FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. I LOOKED AT THE PRICE AND WAS BLOWN AWAY AGAIN. I TOOK THE 2002 MODEL HOME AND PLUGGED INTO MY RIG, A 1200HCRATE AND GX600HCRATE, FULL PEDAL BOARD.
AND RIPPED INTO 'WARPIGS' THE SOUND WOULD HAVE MADE IOMMI PROUD.
PLAYED SOME JAMESGANG 'BOMBER' AND SOME SKYNYRD TO HEAR WHAT THE GUITAR COULD DO. PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS. MY EPI'S SG AND JUNOIR ARE FOR SALE NOW. PLUS RAN BACK TO THE SHOP AND PURCHASED THE S20 ALSO
FOR A GOOD BACK-UP. TOTALLY PLEASED.

GET ONE BEFORE THE BIG COMPANIES FIND THIS ONE OUT.
I'M NOW LOOKING TO FIND THE BLACK TRANSPARENT MTP375 OR MTP475.
AND SEE IF THAT MODEL,SPANKS PRS.

Beautiful cherry burst with cream binding. 2 volume and 2 tone controls with a 3 way toggle switch. This particular model was made in Korea (to my amazement) and is loaded with gold plated hardware (wish it were nickle plated). Solid mahogany body with a matched top and pick ups that are so quiet when running heavy distortion, that it amazes me. The neck is perfect, fast and made of Indian rosewood with abalone inlays.

When I first saw this guitar I was skeptical because frankly I hate imports and have a custom shop Schecter that I forked over 3 grand for. This guitar is super quiet, fat, beautiful in appearance and knocks the socks off of a Epi and I'd rate it very close to the real Paul. Ok ok don't tell me you've heard that before but I'll tell you that I know because I've owned 5 Pauls. IF YOU EVER TAKE IN MIND THINGS WRITTEN IN HERE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST GO PLAY THIS AXE. YOU WILL BE ONE HAPPY CAMPER I PROMISE. I'd love to buy another and probably will at these prices. I use a Custom Schecter as I said, ABSOLUTELY NO DIGITAL (GLASS SHATTERING) EFFECTS and a Genz Benz El Diablo 100 on top of a Genz Benz George Lynch signature 4X12 G-Flex (Great Amp). I also have a MXR phase 90 that I removed the r28 transistor from. If you have one of these I suggest you do the same and that baby will sound just like Eddie's script QUIET phaser.

The guitar was set up fine but I always make adjustments to my liking. Every line on this axe is perfect and great attention to detail was taken in it's construction. I had no idea the Koreans were making axes so nice. Know how much an Epi weighs? Well go pick one of these up against the real paul and you'll be amazed. INFINITE AND FAT SUSTAIN.

I've been playing for over 30 years and am totally blown away by this guitar. It originally listed out at over $1300 and I got a steal on it. Go out sometime and look at what $500 can get you in a axe (CRAPOLA. This company is very new and I'd bet that these pieces will go up greatly in value.
