USA Custom Guitars US-2 Neck

First off, best neck ever. I own 2 that I replaced on Fender Tele's and the difference is amazing. Every tech that has worked with me has commented on how great the neck sounds? I had one made in 2005 and one just made in 2008. Same great quality. Made in USA. Dunlop 6150 Frets with Madigascar Fretboard. 9 1.2 radius with the nut at 1 11/16th. The size is a perfect 830 C Contour. 22 Frets with Abolone Inlays. Had them do a Satin Finish which is perfect on the last one. The first one I had it done by another local person. The Fret Board Edges are Rolled which makes it melt like butter in your hands.

Every Tech that works on my two guitars with this neck has stated how great the Neck Sounds! That is a very strange statement but it sounds incredible. While having the neck Quarter Sawn isn't as flammy, it is much better sounding.

My tech fully expected to have to perform a Fret Job when it arrived. He was amazed that he didn't have to do a thing. I order the fretboard rolled so it feels amazing (like a Tom Anderson or John Suhr). The frets are perfect.

The Best. I own 3 guitars with Warmoth Necks and these are so much better. They are better than Fender Custom Shop Necks and on Par with my Tom Anderson's.

I have been playing for 20 plus years. I will always play USACG Necks. By the way, the guitars that are made by Bill Crook are built by USACG. Bill makes Brad Paisley's guitars and has a great custom shop.

2003 USACG US-2 neck with top adjust trussrod, Dunlop 6105 frets, 12" radius, 24.75" scale conversion spec, .790 "C" back contour, 1 11/16" width at the nut. Sperzel tuners and graphtec nut installed by my local luthier. Neck is plain maple with a maple slab fingerboard. Finished by Roxy Guitar Finish in vintage tint satin poly. Flawless fit and finish.

I am by and large a rosewood board guy, but have owned a few maple board Strats over the years. Never thought they were for me, but this neck changed my mind. The tall 6105 frets and the tonality of the maple board make for some startling articulation of notes. Warm and defined but not shrill. I have this neck installed on an ash "dinky Strat" body with a vintage style trem.

Among the best fret work I've encountered. After a proper setup this neck plays flawlessly. Good enough to allow one to concentrate on creating music and forget about the gear for a bit. The satin finish applied by Roxy has a great dry, smooth feel that is very drag free in terms of executing solos and note bends, etc. The 24.75" scale with the tall 6105 fretwire is very cool on a Fender style neck. Bending notes is more like a Gibson SG (as a reference point)

These guys make the best bolt on neck available. This is my third neck from USACG and Roxy. None of the other Fender style necks stand up to comparison now.

The US-2 is USA Custom Guitars' strat style peghead neck.
22 frets, 25 1/2" scale, mahogany with Madagascar rosewood fingerboard. 10" fingerboard radius, 6100 Dunlop fretwire, .9" supersoft V contour (meaty but comfortable), 1.625" nut width. Vintage style one-way truss rod. Reamed for Gotoh tuners.

It was difficult to choose from all those options because there are just so darn many to choose from. It's cool too because just about every option is is built in to the price of the neck - no inflated upcharges for getting the radius or contour you want, like some other manufacturers out there!

The girth of this neck really helps in the sustain category. It's on a mahogany strat style body wit flame maple top. The one-way truss rod keeps it lightweight. Very warm tone with the mahogany/rosewood combo.

The neck was precisely crafted on a CNC machine and hand sanded to perfection. I then had it finished in a satin urethane by ROXY Guitar Finish. It fits the body like a GLOVE! Fretwork is top notch too.

Even with the one-way trussrod I haven't had to make any adjustmants with changes in weather so far. I would expect the neck to last a long time.

What else can be said about USA Custom Guitars' customer support? They are just fantastic! You can get exactly what you want from USACG just by talking to the sales reps.

After I had some custom fingerboard inlay work done the neck was sent back to USACG for fretting... The fingerboard needed to be re-radiused, and they did it for me at a reasonable cost and very quickly without affecting the inlay that I had paid so much for.

I've been playing close to 20 years and have built many guitars from aftermarket parts. USACG is most definitely the best place I have dealt with in terms of quality, overall choice, and customer service.
If this neck were stolen (you'd have to steal the whole guitar, and then I'd kill you!) I would be on the phone with Tommy ordering another one - I'd skip the custom inlay work though (not done by USACG)! See my review of the guitar body that this is attached to as well.
