Features : 7
Late 70's made in Japan not open book headstock. 2 p-90's
22frets, solid cherry mohagony body very light. WHen I got it it was in pieces. one headstock break and neck broke from body. I understand this is not rare. No electronics or hardware.

I found an original leo quan style bridge, fixed the maple neck... Neck always at wrong angle on these. Put in cts pots original 50's bumble bee sprague ala gibson, .02 caps. Put in a set of duncan antiquity p-90's . Set it up for tens as the neck would probably rip off again with anything higher- the neck pocket is tiny. Added grover keystone tuners

Sound : 10

Wha La... It kills. Sound just like my friends '58 Jr. any amp at any volume has a warm deep growl... Rock and Roll!!!! THis is the tone. Keith richards '68 - '70, Leslie West... Neil young if you push it... ANy great garage/ punk 70's band. Tone tone tone.... I Build amps so I run it through an adam amps Giba OS. this is a more stable version of a '59 tweed deluxe. Pedal board has an Ernie Ball Volume pedal, Voodoo labs Sparkle drive and vibe, emma discombobulator, hao rumble mod, mxr analog delay and adam amps tube reverb unit...

THe neck pick up is very dark but holds to gether. The brige can get bright or have that les paul fart... but always is smooth.
THis guitar only needs the cord and an amp to kill....

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
THe action is low and as good as can be expected with the neck angle.

Reliability/Durability : 4
THis guitar is a collection of ticks. It is somewhat a one trick pony but as it is my style of a ride then it is a thoroughbred. The neck has to much wood exposed and it is hard not bend the neck while playing. It is not reliable for this reson. I know it will come loose again but for free you can't complain. THe finish is Iron.. Poly jap coat it aint going any where. I would definately bring another guitar to the gig but you will cry if it goes down....

Overall Rating : 8
I own strats, tele's pauls playing since 1977. If it was lost or stolen I would be bummed but I would build another. I would compair this to a gibson LP special with real deal AlNico II p-90's from about 1960 or to a good sg spcial ala Pete Townsend. I wish that the neck was set like the single cut versions of the Jr. I gave it an 8 only because of the reliability. If you are going into the studio and whant that sound this is the place to get it insted of spending $6000
