I've got one of the few vaccaro comets that are out there and let me tell ya... its one of the best sounding, best looking, and best playing guitars I have played. The features are simple. just look at the other review. I give it a 10 because of its simplicity and ease of use. no 100 dial situation. just the basics and it gets the job done. The factory duncans are off the heazy and will allow you to enter into "the zone" when matched with a good amp and pedals.

sounds rich and clear. Brings a hint of vintage jazzmaster sound coupled with a vintage firebird. Its almost a hybrid of the two sounds. great for atmospheric guitar stuff.
Action, Fit, & Finish

action is great and the ebony board is as fast as your fingers will allow. built solid to last like and the finish on my guitar is a super duper silver and blue checkered sparkle top! One of a kind and awesome when on stage.

super reliable. built like a tank. no problems. will stand the test of time and only looks better with age.

if you can get your hands on one of these with the rare colors... do not hesitate. I am looking to buy another one and is impossible to find.

I've got the bomb!! A Vaccaro Silver sparkle Comet USA Custom ... Baby. It's fitted with two Seymour Duncan 59 Humbuckers, has one volume and one tone control. It has a Fine-Tune Stop Tailpiece, Schaller roller bridge system and Sperzel tuners. The Neck is alluminium with a maple back and Ebonal Fretboard. It's a hefty mamma (weight), it has attitude and demands attention - which it gets! Although it's everything I want in a guitar, I'll give it a 8 for features because it's pretty simple.

I'm into Thick, Phat, Juicy sounds. My current rig starts with MY Vaccaro Comet, then into a Digitek Whammy, MXR Dyna Comp, Fulltone UO, Big Muff, DOD Grunge/Ring Mod, Line 6 Mod, Boss DD-5, Line 6 Delay ... then into a Marshall JMP-1, with an Analog Synth and Digital Modulizer in the Effects Loop. The Vaccaro Comet has three MAJOR things going for it...Sustain, Attack and clarity(and then some!) The overall sound is very Thich, Full .....yet very clear.
Action, Fit, & Finish

My Vaccaro Comet arrived screaming for attention ..... "play me .. play me now". All I had to do was change strings from 10's to 11's - my preferance. The action was fine. A well finished, solid Guitar.
Reliability/Durability

This is definitly the most solid, reliable guitar I've seen, played and heard of. Best components, latest technology and a character of its own. I'll always gig with a back-up guitar, but I'm not expecting my Vaccaro to give me any hassles.

I've being playing Guitar for over 10 years now. My back-up guitar is an Epiphone Les Paul with a Semour Duncan JB. I have a suitcase full of various pedals and seem to change my rig every year or so. My Vaccaro is the most core/solid thing I own ... It's well suited to my character and style of music ..... Scary thing is I was actually thinking of getting a good ol' Les Paul, but my gut feel told me to take the Vaccaro instead .... It's the bomb - it rocks!
