Aluminum neck with maple casing. Kramer style aluminum headstock (Vaccaro was the CEO of Kramer and was on the patents for the kramer aluminum necks). Ebonal Fret board. American made guitar from Vaccaro's custom series. 7 lbs, 25.5 neck leangth.
Sound

The guitar plays like a dream. It has a bright yet rich sound. Its a bit noisy when turned up, but that may be a capacitor, easy fix. The guitar is VERY flexible. Kind of falls between SG and rick in terms of sounds, sustains as well as either. Best Bolt on for your money, very well thought out guitar. I use a line 6 POD X3 Live direct to board or through a keyboard amp.

The action is incredible. No real flaws. A beautiful american made instrument.

Its built like a rock. I always use a backup though...its smarts. The finish is good enough to last.

Vaccaro is no longer around, its a shame, they made unique guitars and made lightweight aluminum necks.

I own two custom guitars, and this guitar. I would have to replace it, it is totally unique compared to most instruments out there. I can't compare, because well...it is unique, even with other aluminum neck guitars. It has a beautiful tone. If it were lost I would try to track down another Vaccaro. I would have liked a coil tapping switch, but far from needed, it sounds great as it is.
