Vaccaro V2 Generator X

you know it all by now.

it suits my bluse and soft rock sides very well chunky sounding even with single coils (love them with clean tone by the way sound butifull). My Vaccaro goes through a Korg GT3 tuner in to a EH big muff in to a Jim Dunlop cry baby wah wah then on in to a laney tf300 (soon to be an engl scremer) FX loop a zoom 707 mk2 multi fx (just for eq). single coils are noisy but that is to be expected humbucker is fine. I dont like to coil tap it sounds shit. It makes the pickup to quiet so clean is a no no on that setting.

I bought is seccondhand off my drummers dad for #200 it had never left his house no scratches or dings.

the guitar has withstanded live playing and im sure it will long after im gone (im 15) stap buttons went as soon as i paid for it got some strap locks fot this baby dont want to drop it. i never gig without a back up as i use 4 other guitars so i never go to a gig without a guitar that can back me up.

never delt with them as they no longer exsist as i am led to beleve

Been playing 10 years and still not fed up with it. if it were stolen i would try to get another one. i dont like the wammy bar i took it off for now.

The sound is great. Nice and bright....the only issue i have is that the pickups don't alter the sound as much as I'd like.

The aluminum neck looks cool. don't know if it helps keep the guitar in tune but mine rarely goes out. I love the neck on this guitar. It's thinner than Fenders...i guess it's just my preference

no problems with it yet. i've used it gigging tons of times without a backup. strings rarely break.

i give it a 10 since i've never needed support

I've been playing for about 8 years. i went into the music store and tried every guitar they had. It was no contest. The tones were nice, it played comfortably and felt natural. The guitar purists don't like it. they say it's a Strat rip-off, but who cares....it's what works that's most important. Strongly recommended.

I bought this used at Music Go Round in Mpls so I am not sure what year it is. It is a Vaccaro V2 Generator X with a Swamp Ash body, sun-burst finish, Vaccaro V-brato with schaller roller saddle. Humbucker/single/single with a 5-way lever switch. 1 volume, 1 tone. Coil tap on the humbucker. Sperzel Tuners. I really Dug the Wide range of tones from this guitar - Very Sweet and very unique singing tone - alot of fun.

It needed some set-up but, We are just talking about the way it sounded here so, here we go:
The sound/tone of this guitar is amazing! Talk about a very unique very sweet Tone! WOW! That Aluminum Extrusion neck does exactly what they say it does, it acts like a sounding board. The guitar has a super super sweet singing mid-rangy type sound that is very alive - like I said the strings just sing. And it has way more sustain over any other bolt on.

Well Like I said - I purchased this guitar used, so it was in need of some set-up and new strings. So to be fair I can not accuratly rate this catagory. But I will say this; After I took it home and set it up (New Strings, In-tonated it and did a few other tweeks) it played great and sounded even better. I am sure that if this guitar was purchased New, the Action, fit & finish would be a 10.

This guitar will withstand playing live or any other situation you can throw at it. This Guitar is super tough and very well built.

I always have a back-up guitar - that way if you just happen to break a string you can switch to another guitar really quick while the guitar Tech re-strings your other guitar. I also use a combo of standard tuned and Drop D tuned guitars - So depending on the show, I can have 2-5 guitars on stage. I usually use that many in the Studio also.

Customer support is TOP NOTCH. I have talked with Henry Vaccaro Jr. on the phone a few times and Henry Vaccaro Jr. is a Super Super Cool Guy. I am currently having a USA made X-Ray built for me - and so when I happened to see this V2 Generator X in a music Store used I had to have it. Wow! I can hardly wait to get my USA made X-Ray (well, I guess I could not wait because when I saw the Used V2 Generator X and played it I had to have it).
If the import Vaccaro guitars are this nice, MAN the USA Made ones must REALLY ROCK! WOW! I can not wait.

I have played alot of guitars and The Vaccaro guitars ROCK!!!! - I am serious - they have a very unique very very Sweet Sound/tone to them that you will not find with another guitar. People that have them know what I am talking about - For you people that do not have one - GET ONE!!!! If you are looking for a great playing, great sounding (TONE BABY TONE) - then you need to seriously get a Vaccaro.
I am totally Digging and loving the Tone of my V2 Generator X. And if the Vaccaro Import Guitars sound this good - Just think how much Better the USA made Vaccaro Guitars will be. WOW! I can not wait to get my USA made Vaccaro X-Ray.

I bought my Vaccaro about 2 years ago at a local guitar convention. It has 3 pickups--two single coils and one super hot humbucker with a coil tap. It has a hybrid aluminum/wood neck, and is a wonderful shade of light blue. It shaped wierd, but it looks great, and balance has never been a problem for me. The neck is a little thicker than the Jaguar I used to play, but Ive become accumstomed to it. The wood on the neck is a maple(I think), and its not too glossy so your hand slides along it easier than some of your more glossy necks, like the one on my Jaguar. When I sweat, my hand would kind of stick to the neck, it doesnt happen on this. It also has a bigsby-esque vibrato, which has always been my favorite kind of bridge vibrato thing. Its super versatile, you can get tons of different sounds with this thing.

This guitar has been perfect for what I play. Since Im never sure what that is exactly, im glad I have so many different sound options. The single coils arent too weak, and each selector position yeilds a unique sound. The humbucker is ridiculously loud, and really does the trick when you put some overdrive or distortion on it. If you like rocking out you'll be using it alot. I know I do. I havent had any trouble with hum or anything, on any of the pickups. The whammy is great to because you can bend up and down, and it very rarely goes out of tune.

The setup my guitar had when I bought it pretty decent. I havent changed it since. It was setup for 9's, but I use tens, so I should probably get that taken care of, but the intonation is right on, especially since you dont have to worry about the neck getting all out of whack. The finish is great. If you like wierd colors these are the guys for you. I got a nice pale blue. I would prefer an aqua, but the playablilty makes up for that

This is one of my favorite parts. You can beat the hell out of this guitar and not have to worry about stuff you would with a fender or a gibson. The aluminum neck takes alot of abuse and you dont have to worry about the intonation changing everytime you lean it on something, or everytimr it outside in cold weather. Truss rods can eat a butt...those bastards. I used to always travel with a backup when gigging, but not anymore. I trust my vacarro. If only someone would invent indestructible strings huh?

I bought my guitar from the owner's son and the painting guy, and they were really nice. They even gave the guitar to me for about 75 dollars less than what they usually charge because I didnt have enough. I felt like i was contributing to the greater good of guitarists everwhere, not giving some corporate asshole my hard earned money.

I love my vacarro. I couldnt find a guitar to suit my needs until now. I was never content with a guitar I bought until this one.(and I bought ALOT of them, trust me) Anyway, Im pretty convinced that you can't get a better guitar for the price I payed for my vaccaro. I dont think this is the guitar for everybody, but if you want to rock out, you should probably pick one up.

This is Korean made purchased from the Vaccaro Factory in N.J. via the phone number on their website www.vaccaroguitars.com. It cost $449 +$15 for shipping and arrived in two days by mail. When I called, the owner Henry Vaccaro answered the phone and I ordered the Guitar from his son, Henry Jr. The guitar has two coil and one humbucker Vaccaro pickups with a coil tap and has the patented aluminum neck with a tuning fork shaped headstock. The aluminum neck is covered in wood and has a rosewood fretboard with 22 large frets. The guitar has a Vaccaro Tremolo in the Bigsby style. I ordered purple sparkle but it came as a hot rose sparkle which is OK. It has a bib-shaped white pick guard that covers the top half of the guitar body. It has a 5 way pickup selector, one tone and one volume. The coil tap is a toggle and turns the bridge humbucker into a coil. The selector lets you choose one or two of the three pickups. The guitar is solid body and weighs about 8-9 lbs.

This guitar has some very good sounds. The strings are 9's but the guitar can sound heavy without being muddy. The clean tones come through even with heavy distortion. I like the way it sounds clean and I love the way it sounds with distortion. I play with a Fender 60 tube amp, and alot of times I practice into an ART ECC Effects Command Center with head phones. It sounds great either way. The guitar is very responsive, generates alot of harmonics when distorted. I play Stones covers and am very satisfied with the Keith rhythm and lead sounds. I don't use the Bigsby type trem much but if I wanted steel guitar sounds I would. One thing I can say is the guitar seems to make me a better player.

I found no flaws other than the color was different than advertised. However, I like the color I got so it's OK. ( I ordered purple sparkle and got kind of a hot rose - magenta type sparkle). I've had the guitar about 6 weeks and have not found any flaws in the guitar or electronics.

This is a solid built guitar. I have a Steinberger, Yamaha, and Ibanez and I like this one the best. I have no reason to doubt it will hold up. I would gig without a backup - but I always have - I've never seen a guitar fail without warning. Everything on the guitar looks and feels solid and tight. The finish is entirely clear over a metalflake sparkle so I don't think scratches would even show.
The pickguard covers all three pickups and the top half of the guitar body.

I bought this from the factory and spoke to the owner and his son. They were friendly and polite and my guitar arrived by US postal service in two days. The limited warrany covers the original purchaser for lifetime on the neck and body and 5 years on the electronics, frets, tuners, bridge and trem. I haven't had a problem so I don't know how it would work if there was a problem. (My Steinberger Lifetime warranty lasted for the lifetime of the factory not of the guitar.)

I've been playing since 1968. I have a Steinberger Spirit (whisk broom shape), A Yamaha Strat copy, an Ibanez Pro Les Paul Black Beauty copy, a Degas Bass and a Takamine classical acoustic. I did alot of research on the web including Harmony-Central and was attracted to the price and features,including the three pickups, good sustain and funky looks. It is my favorite guitar and I am very happy with the sustain, harmonics and playability, as well as the clean tones that sparkle through the distortion I play with. I bought it because it was in my price range and advertised good sustain because of the aluminum neck. I was going to buy a Fernandes Sustainer but wanted a natural sustain sound. I wasn't disappointed with the Vaccaro.

This thing is one smooth rocker. The sound is crisp and can go from sweet to twang to heavy. Very versatile, almost too versatile. I have a feeling i'll wind up wearing out the pickup selector switch because I switch positions on it so often. That seems to be the only downside.

The finish is sparkle red and it looks pretty cool under the lights. Not my first choice of color but it's what i settled for. The tuning pegs are excellent but very touchy.

Haven't had a problem yet.

I love this thing. I love the vibrato which is odd for me because i tend to block my vibratos.

I like the wide variety of tone selection, I play pretty heavy. I run it through an Ampeg, Mesa Cabinet, boss pedals, (heavy metal/death metal) distortion. If you can believe it, I get clean distortion, insted of muffed distortion.

The guitar was just about flawless, just a little tweak here and there. The finish is glossy as hell. The hardware is solid. The action was off, and I adjusted it.

I have shredded this guit to hell. It's amazing! I have used it several times without a back up, I know that's probably idiotic, but, oh well, it hasnt failed me yet. ( my Tele back up doesnt compare...so whats the point?)

The neck has a lifetime warranty, I havent had cause to take it in for repair.

Ive been playing since im 8. (17 years) I own a fender tele, an old Hagstrom, Vaccaro American Custom Astrolite. Honestly, if my Gen X was stolen, Id be very, very pissed. Id probably have to buy another, but I'd be pissed. (Actually I just got my equip insured.)
My favorite feature is the feel of the neck, i love it. The only neg. is that is has the old skool bigsby style vibrato, and it you jerk with it too much, you will go way out of tune.
I have compared it with all my guits, it by far is the most versatile.
The only thing I wish it had is a flashing strobe light!!
