Of unknown year and probably no longer in production. It features two humbuckers with a selector switch and dual tone and volume controls. The body is 16" across the lower bout and is 3" deep at the neck. It features a double cutawsay. Laminated body is a knock-off of Gibson's recent ES150 model with double rounded cutaways(think deep bodied ES335). It has a tune-o-matic type permanently mounted bridge and an ES175 style tailpiece. All hardware is gold colored. The neck is slim and easy to play. I'm set up with flatwound 13's and have no trouble fretting up the neck. It's a nice blond color with some grain ripple to set it off. Oh yeah, it's Korean made.

Works great either amplified or not. I use it for blues and light jazz. Bear in mind that with the pickups mounted in the top, the acoustic volume will suffer. That's a plus when my wife and kids are asleep. The pickup selection options leave little to ask for. No coil tap switch, but that is no loss here. The tone is rich and full.

I bought the guitar used. so I can't speak to factory prep. I have found no flaws with the guitar. The neck is a fine smooth fit. This is NOT a bolt on. The top is one piece while the back is nicely bookmatched (for plywood). The top and back are bound with a cream colored binding which goes well with the bolnd finish. The black pickguard and pickup surrounds set off the gold colored pickups well.

The finish was fine when it came to me (age unknown) and has shown no sign of deterioration over the two years I have owned it. This is a solid , reliable axe. There is a solid block under the bridge which helps sustain.

The company was absorbed by the Samick group. I have had no occasion to deal with them.

I have played for nearly 40 years (and should be better by now). Of all the guitars I have owned over the years, this is easily my favorite. It can do anything and do it well. If you can find one, get it - you won't be disappointed. For about $1500 more than I paid for this, I could have had a Gibson ES150 with a master volume control - whoopee. If I come across another like it, I will grab it without hesitation. Vantage made a vastly underrated guitar.
