Strat style with set/through neck. 1 humbucker, two single coils, Floyd Rose tremelo, quality quilted wood finish and Gold hardware. Neck is wide and flat but relatively comfortable. There is a 5 way pickup selector plus a coil tap for the humbucker. All in all a well specified "super Strat".

Neck and middle single coils a great, the humbucker is possibly a little bland and the coil tap option possibly a little sharpe. The pickup mix positions are great, I especially love the Humbucker/middle with the volume backed off - produces a great Dave Gilmour sound alike. Overall there is a wide variety of sound options and some very good tones available. The humbucker tone is probably the only weak link - but perhaps I am being picky here because the other tones are so good

Guitar was well set up up to start with and very well manafuctured. The gold hardware is starting to fade (but Ive had it for 11 years now).

Only one problem with it - I had to replace the master volume after three years - which the shop I bought it from (Amen Corner) did for free. Apart from that problem free.

I've been a bedroom player for 20 years, and managed to amass a fair amount of guitars and effects. I play through a Cornford Harlequin (mighty 6 watts !) with a variety of overdrive/distortion/fuzz, chorus, compression, wah and delay effects.
I would try and buy this guitar again if I lost it as I love the in between pickup tone with backed off volume, and because it was an engagement present from my wife. I had the choice of this or a mexican fender strat for the same money and I can remember the look of amazement on the staff face when I chose this. I have no regrets though - it still looks amazing and has some quality sounds. I reckon this is a closet classic in the making

I don't know what year this guitar was made and also am not sure about the country of manufacture; I suspect either Korea or Japan. It is a double cutaway with 24 frets, three pickups (one humbucker at the bridge, and two Strat type (?). A five position selector switch and another 2 position switch. A Floyd Rose type tunematic bridge and a vibrato bar (missing). Rosewood fretboard and gold hardware. Tobacco sunburst and quilt top finish.

I play a variety of styles from country to jazz and this may be my best sounding guitar. I have 15 or 16 guitars in my collection; several Ibanez, a couple of Peavey's, Fender Strat and Telecaster, and Gibson, G&L, Peavey, Ibanez, and Essex (a great instrument by the way) basses. I find the sound of this Vantage to be anywhere from full with lots of sustain to crisp and cutting.

I purchased this unit used from a local Pawn shop and while it looked good it was essentially unplayable. The tunematic bridge was messed up beyond belief (tension springs missing), and a couple of strings missing. As for basic construction; it is very nicely finished and the workmanship seems excellent. While I generally try to stay away from gold hardware because the finish quickly disappears, this is holding up well. Once I got the bridge back in working order and set up the action I find that it stays in tune and is very comfortable to play.

I can see a few dings from the previous owner and based on the condition of the bridge when I purchased it I can only guess that this unit has had some rough treatment; it still looks very good however. While I haven't played out with it since I've been inactive in that regard lately, based on previous experience it seems like a good solid guitar. Of course as many others have said, I always take a backup; you never know what can happen.

Purchased used and don't know if Vantage is still in business; a shame if they're not.

I've seen some other reviews of Vantage products that are very favorable; as for my opinion this may be the best guitar I have ever owned in my 45 years of playing. It is so smooth and easy to play while still giving the sounds that I want that it's hard to describe. I have played most of the big name brands over the years either through ownership or at dealers and I rank this one with the best. Actually, I never heard of Vantage before I saw this one and pretty much took a chance on it since it was not in playable condition. However, the construction and workmanship looked good, the neck was solid and straight, the electronics were noise free and worked, so I took the chance. I am delighted with the result and intend to keep this one forever.
