Very nice for a guitar of this price. This is a pre-Kaman Vantage, with a bookmatched solid top (spruce), bookmatched back (dunno the wood), comfortable shallow C neck, bound top and back, Vantage branded tuners (not sure what supplie). All still stock, so simple but good quality. Could probably use better tuners, but they stay in tune pretty well.

For the price, this has one of the best sounds I've come across in an acoustic. It's got great projection, clean mids, punchy lows, crisp brights.
I think I just lucked out and got a "good" one, but I remember playing 3 in the store and it was tough to decide becaue they all sounded so good.

really nice bookmatching on top and back, saddle is elegant, action is easy to adjust and was find when arrived. binding is plastic (i think) but has aged well.

i've been playing this guitar for about 16 years; i bought it at a Midnight Madness sale at Amherst Music House when i was a junior at UMass Amerst; lucked out in quality and price. I've really banged this around in that time, and it's gathered it's share of scratches and dings, but nothing major and i've never had a structural problem.

As I've mentioned, this is an earlier Vantage guitar, when it was still a few guys in Korea producing these. I'm not sure of the year, but I bought it in 1991 and it had been hanging around the shop for awhile. I happened to get it for only $225 at a sale; it was an impule buy after i had decided to not bother with guitar and sold all my guitars+amps. bad idea, and i started jonesing for a guitar immediately. so i ended up borrowing $225 from a buddy just because it was such an amazing instrument and i had to have it. for the price, probably the best guitar purchase i've ever made, and i've had some nice guitars over the years :)
