My guitar is a VS40-CEM which has a fairly ordinary maple finish with cream binding as opposed to the black ones listed. The neck looks like rosewood and all other details as per the other reviews. The really special thing about this guitar is skinny body depth (3 inches) which makes it very comfortable.

Sound : 7
I play all sorts from pop through folk and rock and church music
(no country though being a brit) and it sounds good for all of these. For my style I find the pickup a little to harsh so always back off the treble and boost bass and mid. Acoustically there is a great amount of depth to the sound from such a shallow body.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
For the money this was all good. I had to get the guitar set up when new as the action was way too high. Taking the action down gave better intonation and it doesn't buzz even in Nick Drake tunings.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have had it for eight years and it gets transported around at least twice a week and still looks like new.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Wouldn't have a clue how to contact them.

I own a 1970's Jap 12 string, a 50 f-hole type jazzer, an octave mandola, squier tele, fender elite flame and Marshall JCM900. This guitar has done me proud for a long time and always sounds good with virtually no noise or feedback plugged in. I wouldn't look for another one if it got nicked though -I am probably after a Taylor or Guild next. My favorite feature is the guitar's serial number - 9210000001.

I've had this guitar now for 5 years, and I find it's really comfortable to play. While not a professional musician, I used to be a singer in various garage bands. I finally picked up guitar so I could accompany myself (with three kids, forget about bands !)I almost always use it acoustically at parties, the campfire etc. When I do amp it, I go through a little Peavy 15 with no added effects. As the previous review stated, I could never get a totally bright sound out of it, but I can play the Beatles all the way to Blind Melon and get the proper sound. The pickup is absolutely quiet also.

I LOVE the black lacquer finish and the cutaway. The thin body is also really comfortable. The only problems I've had thus far is the neck, I could'nt figur out how to adjust it (the strings are a little too high near the soundhole) and the jack to plug in comes out if you don't grasp it beforehand. Other than that, really comfortable.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've taken this guitar to so many parties and camping trips, in all types of weather and its played just perfectly. I've had 3 years olds strumming on it with Legos and the surface still holds up.

Bought used at a pawn shop, so.....

This is my only axe, along with my Peavy amp. I've had a Takamine classical before this one, and I find it more comfortable. I've played some Fender Squire electrics, and Norman 12 strings. If I could improve it, it would be to get a brighter/cleaner sound (maybe using effects pedals?).

Works excellent for my music style (Rock)
I use it through a small Fender amp and a Quadraverb GT when amplified. The pickup is VERY quiet and has great full tonal response. If I had to say anything negative about the sound I'd say that it's difficult to get a 'bright' or 'tinny' sound from this guitar. I really is much more 'mid' than anything

Fit and finish on this guitar are top notch. The only problem I had was the Nut came loose. A little woodglue cured the problem.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've had this guitar for 5 years and it has been to several states and traveled on many airplanes etc. I don't have a hard case with it I just have a gig bag. The guitar gets banged sometimes really hard but has NEVER had a problem when I needed it. Even when the nut came loose it played fine until I could get it repaired.

I've been playing for about 20 years. My primary instrument is Bass. I have a pretty extensive base rig with a full Hartke XL5000 Stack and a rack full of toys. I have a guitar that was used by Tommy Shaw and a little Fender M80 Guitar Amp for practicing.
