I'm guessing this guitar was made in the mid 80s, definitely Japan. Twenty one frets, three single coils. Maple neck with rosewood board, not sure of the body material but I'm guessing alder. Strat style body, but just different enough. Non locking sealed tuners.

I'm a strat lover, owned a bunch of them. My Japanese Contemporary Standard 22 is my favorite. This guitar holds it's own with any Fender I've ever played. With a Strat I play mainly bluesy stuff that I come up with myself. The pickups on this guitar run the full range of any good strat. I get really nice clean tones from the neck, and using the middle and bridge together gives me the strat quack we all love.

As I've said, this guitar is as good or better than any Fender I've woned or played. The fit and finish are top notch. Excellent honey tinted neck is very easy to play, and the guitar is in as good of condition now as it was 20 years ago.

Pro level guitar. I would gig without a backup using this guitar if I had to.

I've been playing a few years and have owned over 70 guitars. I play this through a Johnson Marquis JM120 (2x12) modeling amp and a Crate G40C-XL (2x10). Sounds great.

This guitar just wont die.. belive me.. ive tried killing it.
Scince i busted one of the pickups, it feeds back awful (although i think its also the crappy amp) but other than that, sounds great loud and aggressive and nice and mellow.

Its all-around good, except a few loose pegs, but i think thats the previous-owners fault.

with the broken pickup i cant use it live, but fix that and this thing works great under any condition (have shovelled snow with it).
Im pretty sure that this thing is older than me (im 18 by the way) and it seems to be holding out better.

i learned how to play on this thing and it's taken my torture for about 6 or 7 years now. I like how i can beat and thrash it and i'll give out before it will. I've played some of my friends guitars (some good, some pieces of crap) and over all of theirs i dont think i'd give up mine.
