Beautiful cherry red body with brass hardware, a joy to even look at. Very solid, after close to 20 years it still looks like new.

I'm not a professional musician, so can't attest to it's durability under actual field conditions. But I have no doubt it would hold up quite well... it's built like a rock!

Just a beautiful guitar, a treasure to play, I love it and would never part with it. I bought this guitar (X-99) probably close to 20 years ago and still love playing it!

Purchased this guitar in 1984 and have had it ever since and still love it. Guitar was made in Japan by Samick. It is a twin cutaway with neck through body construction made of what appears to be maple with rosewood fretboard. Pickups were dual humbuckers with a 3 way primary selector and with each pickup also having a 3 way switch providing a fairly diverse range of sound. Tone and level knobs for each pickup.
Finish is black at rear blending to wood finish on upper surface and rear of neck. Plenty of clear gloss laquer over the lot.
Uses Tun-o-matic bridge.

Has a rich full sound when played as humbuckers but thins out if played in single pole config. Also subject to noise when played as single coils. Excellent for lighter jazzier sound but has tendency to get noisy if played heavily. I have it set up with very low action and just love the smoothness of this guitar suing medium guage Dean Markley strings.

Factory setup was pretty good but I had the setup redone by a techo and he was able to improve it. Originally had some fret buzz on base string but altering the bridge angle fixed this.
Pickups are easy to adjust and once done sound was improved. Finish on the guitar was excellent and after nearly twenty years is still excellent. Neck is very thin and is great for those of us with smaller hands and fingers. Have had to replace one of the small 3 way switches as it was broken by accident. These switches are very light and not very strong.
The connection to guitar chord is now getting a little shaky and is creating some crackling.

Like I said earlier I have played this guitar regularly for nearly 20 years and it has never let me down. Only some small knocks but no cracking in the finish. This is a very good reliable guitar but not for those of us that like to bash the crap out of our instruments.

Have been playing for about 25 years and have played Gibson Les Pauls, Fender strats and even a PRS once. I also have a SongBird acoustic and have also had the Epiphone acoustics as well as a Yamaha classical.
I found that this guitar has a sound a feel of it's own. Overall it really has been a great guitar. I won't be parting company with it any time soon.

Bought used so I don't know the year. 22 frets...had 3 way selector for two humbuckers which sounded great until you overdrove them too much then they squealed horribly so I replaced with Dimarzio Tone Zone(bridge) and Seymour Duncan PAF(neck)Had deep red finish on double cutaway body neck thru. Tune-o-matic style tailpiece

Use it for heavy sounds typically straight into Fender Concert ...original pickups squeled at high volume so they were changed (see above)
Rewired for coil tapping and it has a wide range of sounds now

Hardware seemed a bit lightweight and I completely rewired it for coiltapping with new Dimarzio Tone Zone(bridge) and Seymour Duncan PAF(neck)with new 3 way pickup selector switch and 3way coiltap switches w/ separate tone and volume for each pickup

Solid body, dual humbuckers each with seperate position/volume/tone control, 22 frets. Beautiful sunburst wood to black finish. Extremely well featured, though I'm unsure about new price.

This instrment gives an incredible variety of tone. I've used it with many amps, from a Peavey Rage 158 to a Marshall stack. It has an incredible capacity for sustain, and output is significantly higher than any Les Paul I've played. Amazing. Strat-like twang and glimmer can also be easily achieved. Excellent variety, and excellent at all varieties. Also, very minimal noise of any description.

Everything excellent, not all that far off the best. Fingerboard inlays look a little ordinary, that's about it. Everything feels very tight, heavy and solid would be a good desciption ( much like the sound ).

This guitar was purchased second-hand in early '99, and although I have little idea about it's actual age, I would presume from styling it's well over 10 years old. Everything looks factory and works brilliantly, no noisy pots etc.

This is really quite an excellent guitar, both in terms of sound and finish, and there is not really great deal of guitars that could top it, if you can handle not having a 'big-brand' instrument.
