ventura v-13 dreadnought 6-string acoustic mahogany with brass pegs, bridge and the headstock guide.this guitar plays better than any expensive takamine, fender or dean i've had and many mid-priced guitars as well. i added a fishman humbucker,(about$259.00),soundhole pick up,professionally installed and don't think i could have picked a better combonation, playing through an ibanez ta-25 troubador.

i play a lot of eagles, jackson browne, beatles and pink floyd acoustic stuff. i use medium,GOOD strings on it. it sounds incredible. makes me sound like a much better player. full, rich sound and still can get the brightness,(without the amp),when wanted.i can't believe they aren't in more demand or known in more circles.

the guitar was made in japan around fall of '71. serial #747. the fit and finish were excellent when i got it last summer in a town of about 1000 in n.e.oklahoma, in a little used music equipt.,leather, bbq. restaurant joint. i took it to tulsa and had it gone over,(checked the neck straightness, etc.), by a well known fender repair shop.he said it was surprizing sounding and playing guitar. i have to agree.no scratches, and that mahogany polishes up beautifully. i buy and sell a lot of guitars and it would take a lot to buy this one.

Reliability/Durability : 10
this guitar has withstood gig playing without a backup. it,s like it was just made...solid.the mahogany and brass seem like they will be long lasting.stap buttons are very solid.of course the one on the bottom,(body),is new, being also the plug in for the fishman.

i've never tried to deal with the company that made THIS guitar. i understand venture is still making guitars, but i don't know if it's the same people. these were manufactured in japan as gibson copys, then picked up and imported by bruno co. out of new york, and a lot of them have his name on the sticker, but mine doesn't making me believe it's a "pre-bruno" guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
i took my 1st lessons in 8th grade and am now 57, so i've been playing a long time.if i lost it, i'd try my best to buy another. there wasc one on ebay a month or so ago, without the brass pins, i was going to buy it anyway, but someone beat me to it. the pics were identicle and no bruno sticker, but a much higher serial #.it fits my hands so well and just plays with ease. i would highly recommend buying one if you ever find one.

All Mahogony guitar. No laminte junk here. Brass nut saddle bridge.
All perfect X bracing. Beatiful binding materials. Precision tuners.
(mine are locking Grovers but its possible they were added as a preference by the original owner.)

Truss Rod is exceptional. Not one of your Gibson tin rods, this thing is the result of hands on craftsmanship.

Finish is gloss and very well applied. No runs or thins and not too thick.

Of the four solid body Mahogony guits I own (one a Martin OM-15 Custom, One a Harmony and yes, it is simply one of the best guitars you will ever hear in its size, they made magic in the 60's for a little bit)it is truly the best.

The care and attention to detail that went into this guitar is on par with any custom you will see, astonishing.

Mahogany guits are typically warm but not full sounding guitars. This one is different. Its VERY warm sounding (I use custom lite PB's 11 - 56 special order with 5&6 flat wound)but it is also VERY full.

Super great.

Gone daddy gone.

I have been playing for some time now and own several guitars.

If this guitar where lost or stolen I would beat my wife, run off with my dog, jump off of a bridge and I would... Its only a guitar, i would be pissed and if given even a chance at a broken one would buy it and pay whatever it cost to get it right. Its worth more to me than most guits I play but, its only a guitar and besides, my wife would kick my tail if she even knew I had written this.

Mahagony dreadnought, brass nut, saddle, and bridge pins. Enclosed grover style tuners, ebony bridge, ebony fingerboard, (or ebonised rosewood)All solid, x braced. dark tortoise martin style pick guard, very dark herringbone purfling, tiny Larrivee sized MOP fret markers. Gloss finish, but the tone, the Sustain!!!!! It plays very
complex jazz chords without muddying the tones, with no decay. it sounds like organ music it goes on so long. No electrics, no cutaways no frigging abalone or frills, just imppeccable sound and an understated elegance of an all mahogany Dreadnought with brass. Like Daion Heritage models. Incredible sustain. No Martin or Taylor could ever put it to shame. Truss rod neck, easy playing, great action, Says "designed in USA made in Japan". Probably at the Terada factory, Paid $131.00 on ebay. Just lucky. Original owner had it for 32 years, 1971?, offered to buy it back if I ever sell for more than I paid. Wont happen. Ever. I am not trying to rub it in, if he reads this, as I am forever gratefull. Sad a little too. I'll never be able to top this purchase.
