Classical style, somewhat petite in size, tan blonde top with rich dark sides & back, rosewood fingerboard of moderate width & thickness. Made in Japan 1967. Extremely durable, stable in all kinds of humidity conditions, smooth fast neck. Good projection and clarity.

I have owned & played this guitar since 1967. It has served from early folk & classical learning stages through to the present day in which it is frequently being recorded & played publicly. It is wonderful for everything from classical through folk, blues, rock, jazz, and even Middle Eastern genres. The tone is superb, with a range of full sounds from very clear highs to distinct lows, with a sweet spot in the middle ranges.

The finish has held up through thousands of often bumpy miles of travel by air, sea, & land. It has remained stable in transitions from dry Texas to wet Seattle, seacoast and mountains. The neck action remains flawless and quick, and has never warped. It holds tuning very well.

This guitar has been through all kinds of playing environments indoors & out, rain and shine, live and otherwise. Typical care is occasional cleaning & polish. The original cardboard case has been replaced with a lined hardshell classical case. I added strap buttons in the beginning, and those are the only modification. I have used a contact mike on the body, but playing straight into a microphone captures all the tone fulness when recording or playing in public.

No repairs needed except some wearing-down of the nut from years of strings requires a small shim made of very thin plastic under the bass E string. Neveer had contact with the company or knew where they actually were.

I have been playing since 1963. I use a full studio of other guitars, keyboards, world instruments, recording equipment, and amps. This guitar has been part of me and my family all these years. It has been much a faithful friend. Other instruments have come and gone but this one stays on and is played pretty much on a daily basis. When I got this guitar in 1967, my guitar mentor Whitey Ray Huitt said it was a copy of an American guitar and should be worth about $300, which was pretty decent sum in those days. I had bought it new for $80.

The wide fret board makes it easy to let your fingers do the walking...there's no worry of hearing any deadnotes..as to this day nearly 40 years after... the fret board is still straight as an arrow....

this guitar came from the 60's...and was passed down through my family so after 40+ years and counting it has its scars of time..dings/dents..the hardware does need some cleaning as it was stored away for some time rusting up a bit...but just throw some good nylon strings on it and it comes to life!
this is by far my number one guitar....

I've been playing for close to 15 years..and this was the first guitar I ever held...and immediately fell in love with it...
I've had many guitars come and go within that time...but one thing stays constant..and thats my Ventura-1583...by far the best sounding classical I've had in my hands...
