My V7 is a solid spruce top with solid rosewood back and sides. I had a small chip in it when I got it as a gift and am related to the family that was an "authorized dealer" for all "Ventura" (Orlando Rose etc) guits of that era who went through thier collection of catalogs to match the wood/stain and got the low down on the exact materials.
Tuners are open and work very well.
Finish is very good.
OM guitar.

As with EVERY Ventura I have played (that has been cared for or set up properly) I am always totally blown away with thier sound and attention to detail.
This guitar sounds like a Jumbo (with Med Nano's)and is just a great little guitar.

Two owners
One used this guitar on a gold album during the late 70's and took it on tour and it still sounds and looks great.

You can find these relatively cheap (in fact for dirt free on ebay etc), I would say that an exceptional v7 will cost you at most $400 bucks and an average one (ebay special) around $150. They are worth 2x's as much but if you get one, check the bracing and make sure that the sound board is flat.
These guitars are at least 20+ years old and if not cared for or stored properly the soundboard can lift and the braces come loose.

The Ventura V7 is a grand concert model steel string acoustic (6 string) made in Japan in the 70s. It features a laminated spruce top and laminated mahogony back and sides. The neck and headstock are walnut. The bridge and fretboard is rosewood. The nut and saddle are plastic. Binding is dark plastic. The fretboard has ivoroid markers. Tuning machines are enclosed style with plastic knobs. The pick guard and strap pin are black plastic.

The grand concert is a comfortable size for sitting and strumming or fingerpicking. The Ventura, typical of grand concert models, is bright. The tone is acceptable but not loud.

Like most of the Japanese guitars in the 70s, the fit and finish are very high quality. All seams are clean, binding tight, braces scalloped. No evidence of residual glue is visible on the interior.

I've been playing 20 years. I like all the Ventura guitars. Even the low end models demonstrate a commitment to manufacturing quality. I'd buy another Ventura V7 for a travel, camping or informal playing guitar.
