I bought this guitar for two reasons.
1. My first halfway decent guitar was a Ventura, but I sold it some time before I got out of college in 1975. Have regretted it ever since.
2. I have become a big fan of maple dreadnoughts ever since I got a Washburn D20S/N.
Maple has a brighter sound with great projection that I like best for old timey/folk/Irish tunes that I play.
This guitar literally booms out the bass end and has a fine mellow voice on the highs. It's remarkable

Nicely made guitar. Shows some marks from the years but nothing serious.
D profile nec is a bit thick but not extra wide; action is low plays easy.

I've been playing for 37+ years. I keep a sharp eye out for Venturas in good condition if the price is right. My old one was a good copy of a Martin D18. These Ventura dreadnoughts are great guitars and just get better over time.
