The guitar was made in the late 80s.It was made in Korea and has 24 Jumbo frets. It has a tone control,a volume control and a five - way selector switch for the S/S/H - pickup-configuration.The pickups are labeled with "Vester" and made by EMG.The electronics are passive.
The body is made of American red alder with a thick bookmatched top of flamed maple. The neck is a two-piece(angled headstock)mapleneck that goes through the body with an ebony fretboard.
The back of this guitar`s body is finished in a dark translucent green that almost appears to be black. The flametop has a beautiful translucent dark green(lighter than on the back) highgloss finish. There`s an ivory-coloured binding around the top and there`s also a white neck-binding.
The bridge is a licensed Floyd Rose I-type with the obligatory lockable saddle. The tuners are from Gotoh.
The neck has got a long Washburn scale and seems to be of the "super-wizard"-type which makes it playable extraordinary fast.
The guitar came in a hardshell case with some tools that are placed in a tool holder on the back of the neck.

I play Blues to Hard Rock/Metal.This is what the guitar is just perfect for.I`m playing it through a restored MarshallJTM45.The guitar is noisy on singlecoil-settings when the amp is cranked up(what it is most of the time). The sounds of this guitar are something like a "Best Of"-collection.The humbucker in the bridge gives a real classic Gibson sound which is great for Blues and Metal. It has quite a high output and is very powerful though.
The two single coils in the middle and neck position give out the sound of a classical 50s Fender Stratocaster.Between their output and the output of the bridge humbucker there`s a gap.It is just like you switch between the beefy sound of a Gibson and the twangy sound of a Stratocaster.I`ve put some steelplates under the polepieces of the singlecoils to increase their output and now they sound really hot.

There were no flaws to find on this guitar and it was set up very well.
Reliability/Durability

I`m playing the JJR1270 live and in the studio for 10years now.It has been refretted last year - the second refretting since I bought it.The hardware is very durable. The finish on the back is slightly wearing off after all these years but that`s just the way a guitar life goes.
The strap buttons are Schaller interlocks and didn`t cause any problems untill now.
I could depend on it all the time and I don`t think that`ll ever change in the next 50 years or so.
For I`m no fan of bad surprises like snatched strings `n`stuff during a gig I always have another guitar as backup. My backup guitar is a Jackson Soloist SL3 that looks awesome too but sounds only mediocre compared to the hotrodded Vester.
Customer Support

No Opinion
For the Vester company that existed only a very short period from 1989-1993 has made this a well-built,reliable instrument I haven`t dealt with them back then.I can`t remember how long it was under warranty.

I`ve been playing since the 60s.My other gear: a Jackson Soloist SL3,
a 1961 Gibson SG,a Fender Jaguar and a Gretsch White Falcon.
If it were stolen or lost I`d be very sad because a decent sounding player like this is quite hard to find.
I love the light weight, balance, fast action and versatile sounds of this guitar. What I hate is the clumsy Floyd Rose Tremolo which always seems to be in my way.My favourite feature is the ebony fretboard -it feels very smooth.
I compared this guitar to each and every Jackson and Ibanez Heavy axe on the market at that time.I chose this one because of its`sound versatility. And because it has convincing Gibson and Fender sounds all united in one instrument - I never came across an axe like that before.
