I brought this guitar circa '93, i guess it was made around then. I'm not sure what type of wood the body is, but it weighs a ton, just like a real les paul, i remember playing a rubbish epiphone les paul once, that felt like it was made of balsa wood. (note to guitar manufacturers, if youre gona do a les paul copy at least get the weight right). The neck is a really slim neck, just like a les paul, and the finish is a lovely golden honey wood tone. I think vester was a american company who imported these guitars from guitar makers in the far east, not sure exactly were.

Sound : 9
I play rock, blues... this guitar sounds pretty cool, the tone is great and the whole guitar seems to sing when you play it unplugged (always the sign of a good guitar). Through my marshall, it gives a really thick crunchy sound on distorted settings, and a really deep sound on the cleaner settings... kinda really shines when you crank things up though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The finish is perfect... the neck is glued to the body, (not bolted... ala ibanez or crapiphone), so top marks there... the only flaws were the cheap kluson pegs (long scince replaced), someone told me that the pickups were prob made in the same factory as washing machines, well all i can say is that they must have made good washing machines if the pickups are anything to go by.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The guitar has been through some abuse over the years, (broken kneck etc)... having said that, the varnish has only a few pings, and it still looks great.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Nope, vester got sued out of existance by fender years ago.

Overall Rating : 9
I've gone though stages of not liking this guitar 'cause the weight of it can make it hard to play, but over the years i've begun to realise what a great guitar this is. I've had it for 16 years, i don't think they come up on e bay much, but if you see one somewere for under ??200.00 then BUY IT!.
