A S/S/H pickup configuration with a coil tap on the humbucker. Each Pickup is independantly activated via it's own dedicated toggle switch. The electraonics are active and require one 9volt battery which is housed in it's own compartment (Only two screws to replace it). There are three knobs; Volume, Tone and boost (Active). The finish is a solid color (Metalic Blue) and from the one ding I have in it, I count five layers including the paint on the wood. The body shape is your standard double cutaway with some subtle molding on the top to give it a slightly unique look. It has a Floyd Rose floating Bridge with a locking neck and Gotoh tuners. It has a 24 fret neck with a feel that reminds me of the Ibenez Wizard neck.

I play multiple styles of music and this guitar has followed me well throughout them all. I play through a Peavy Express 112 Combo amp with a Morley Wah pedal and I find the pairing to be excellent for performing or recording even though this guitar can be a bit noisy (More on that later). The tonal range of this guitar amazes me. The boost from the active electronics really thickens the sound up and the ability to dial in the amount of boost combined with the multiple pickup options allows me to get any tone from a vintage jangley sound to a think brown "Van halen" distortion.
The one complaint I have about this guitar is the noise level when using anything but the Humbucker pickup in standard mode. Both single coils and the humbucer in coil tap mode are noisy and very prone to picking up interference. That is my only reason for not giving a 10 in this category!

I bought this guitar from a pawn shop so I cannot comment on the factory setup. It was a mess when I got my hands on it.

This guitar is a workhorse! The Gotoh tuners will stay in tune even without the bridge locked. Even though the POTs feel a little scrathy, I have never cleaned them and no scratchyness has come through in the sound when used. The finish is extremely well done and I couldn't see it ever wearing thin under normal conditions. The one thing I had to change were the strap buttons. They were just way too small from the factory and not sufficient to keep the strap on under even normal movement. I would and do use this guitar on a gig without backup.

When I first saw this guitar for $100.00 in a pawn shop, I had never heard of Vester and it was in miserable shape. The neck resembled a Ski slope from the winter olymipcs and I don't even want to talk about the bridge. I bought it as a beater guitar with the possible intent of breaking it on stage (Thank god I didn't). It pretty much sat in my room in the case for 6 years untill a friend of mine started playing it and commented that he liked the neck on it. A week of daily neck adjustments later and I was inclined to agree.
I own an Ibenex SL series guitar and a Charvel Charvette also as far as electrics and this is by far my favorite axe, even compared to many I have played in music stores. The two things I love the most about this guitar are the action and the tone(s). The only think I do not like is the noise from the single coil pickups but I am afraid to change them for fear of losing the great sound.
If I ever lost this guitar, after mourning, I would search high and low for another. If you ever see one of these for sale, snatch it up in a second. Also, if anyone knows more about the history of these guitars, please email me!

Suits heavy rock and spead lead. Max out distortion on the humbucker. Single very smooth, steve vai sound. Sounds great with a standard marshall. Very loud guitar. Especially on the Humbucker. Full Sound. I don't like the fact that its not the best with funk.

I have been using the vester for 2 years and their is no problem with it whatso ever. The only flaw it had was when i recieved it the bridge was badly out of position. Once aligned correctly no problems.
It has a beautiful strong finsh. Does not scratch easily

The guitar will last. The gold trims on the tuners and bridge will not last very long. Around the bridge is wearing out due to my palm. The finish of the body is not going anywhere. It will last.
Very reliable and would not need a backup guitar. I use one only because of string breaking.

2 years its been played and its better than when i bought it. I also own 2 other guitars. One cheap and a Gibson Les Paul. If it was stolen i would hunt down the world looking for another the same. I would choose the vester over my other two because it has the overall, look, sound and feel of a beautiful guitar. I wouldn't change it at all.
