Bought this gguitar in a pawn shop for $60. I was looking for a sunburst Strat, and man I found just what I was looking for. It had brokent strings, dirty and needed some TLC. But when I picked it up I could tell it was a quality intrument. I mean it didn't feel cheap. The neck felt good to hands right away, better than most of my other strats. This guitar has all the typical strat features. A 5-way selector, 2 single coils with a Seymore Duncan hotrail humburker in the treble position. This was a gift from the person who had it before. The sunburst finish is beautiful and made me recognize the guitar right away when I walked in the shop. Maple neck with a great feel. I was loking to use this for blues, but with this set up, I've been able to use it for Rock and Metal.

Sound : 10
This guitars fit all the styles of music I play, but really excell at Rock and Blues. I use Marshall, AVT ccombos, Peavey Transtube combos and 1oo watt head, Marshall Mosfit (3310, 3210 100 watt heads) Full Stack with 2-12 in each cab, epiphne 5 watt head into the full stack Marhalls or a 1X12 cab(Peavey SX extended cab), and JCM 800 MKII 50 Head, Boss, digitech, Line 6 amp modulor, zoom effects. This guitar sound great in any combinations. I tailor the rig for the gig. Small or large room, I'm ready to go.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action is low and fits my needs. Like I said, when I found it it neede some TLC. I took it to a buddy of mine who does all my guitar work. He knows exactly what I need and my playing style, so it was been set up to fell virtually new. The frets needed the lease amount of attention. The electronics needs some shuring up, but other than that it was a easy job to get this into playing shape. This Guitar is well balance and feel more like the expensive american made models but with more soul and feel

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is a tank and feel beefy. It has withstood all I can do to it. I only need to bring this one. It soesn't break strings and it stays in tune. I don't use the whammy as much as I do on my Ibanez, but I can do some tasteful things with it if needed

Customer Support : No Opinion
wouldn't know who to call
but never neede them anyway.

I've been paying for 20 + plus years, and have had every piece of equipment and guitar out there (just about). I even had the whole rack system, which I sold and went back to old school stomp boxes. In the 80s-90s I had the Marshall and Peavey 5150 ful stacks. Opened up for Zack Wylde in St> pete Florida, and other big shows too many to name here. So I think I know alittle about equipment and guitars (own 20 including a Ernie ball VH, and a natural finish Les Paul(73).
If lost are stolen, I'd try to get it back. I want do bodily harm to the jerk, but I would think about it. Then I'd start my serch in the pawn shops again, because this is a gem many don't know about.

okay, what we have here is a tobacco sunburst strat clone.
everything is as a strat bar the end of the headstock ....different shape. seems to be a two piece glue together body with maple neck. Everything is as a strat.

Sound : 9
Its a fine "all rounder" classic absolutely usable single coils Treb pickup has lovely twang with bite. And it has great sustain even unplugged (on the dunny) Louder and more resonant than PLENTY of Strats I've had.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
small fret trivia up at the sixteenth fret with a twisted end on the fret.
this however,is sonically imperceptible. Although if it did leave the factory like this, they should have been onto it. No other obvious flaws bearing in mind this was an absolute beat-up that was a gift

Reliability/Durability : 10
first gig in a few days could use some tidier tuners and one of the pots gonna need a cleanout or replace. She'd have my life on her at the gig it just feeels like a tank

Ive been blown over by it its the old thing too, about hardware, and there WILL be examples where its inferior but its the classic single coil Fender brew we've come to know and love and its all right here ....... in my face

Standard Classic 50's Strat, nice sunburst showing the fine grain of the wood. Alder body, one piece maple neck, kluson style tuners, vintage trem, vintage pickups. All of very good quality. I give it a ten because that's all a Strat got to have.

Sound : 10
Very, very fine sounding guitar, just like a 50's maple neck Strat should sound. Better than my Fender, quite as good as my 80's Japanese Strats. Unplugged, this guitar is crisp, loud, clear and very harmonic. Plug it in a tube amp and this instrument starts to shine - sparkling, rich, groovy, surfing, everything you want from a Strat. I love the sound of this guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
No flaws, very well built, good action, straight neck, very nice wood and paint job.
I don't understand how these guitars were sold quite cheap. It is far superior to a Squier in every respect and better than many modern american Fenders. I don't say it's vintage Tokai quality - but it comes close. No wonder new Tokais are built in Vester's factory...

Reliability/Durability : 10
As with every guitar I wouldn't gig without a backup - but this one will last forever.

Support? Good luck on contacting Vester ;)

Overall Rating : 10
This is my 6th Strat. I've been playing for 24 years, almost every style but Jazz. I have a Lag Hardline Randy Rhoads Style guitar, a Yamato 70's Strat, a Tokai 60's Strat, a mexican Fender Classic Strat and a Vester Vintage Les Paul (outstanding guitar too).
I had some others including an american Fender Strat which I sold because it had no soul. Amp is Laney LC15R.
All guitars sound good and each one has it's own sound. I love the Vester for her crispy, typical 50's sound and for the great look and feel.
If it were stolen I would kill the person, if it was lost I would kill myself ;)
It's not just bang for the buck, it's just BANG!
This Vester is extraordinary, good luck on finding one, it has become a collectors item for quite some time now.

My Strat was made in the mid eighties. It was made by the Sae Han guitar manufacture in Korea. It has 21 vintage frets and the usual Strat-controls(2tone,1volume,5-way selector switch)as well as the Strat-typical three singlecoil-PUs.The Pickups have alnico5 -magnets and are wired randomly(perhaps even hand-wired???).The electronics are passive. The pickguard is made of white plastic. The Body is made of alder and the neck is a one-piece maple neck with a stripe of rosewood on the back(to cover the mounting hole of the trussrod). The neck has a transparent yellow/orange highgloss-laquer finish which underlines the structures of the neck's wood. The Body is coloured in two tone sunburst(black and transparent yellow. And because the red colour of the alder used for the body shines through the structures of the wood shine in a warm orange. The body has the alltoo well-known Strat shape. The bridge used here you can find on any old Fender Strat. The tuners are open Kluson style mechanics. The neck is medium and has a rather flat d-shape.

Sound : 10
For the variety of styles I play (Blues,Hard Rock,Funk Metal,Jazzrock/Fusion)this axe is my weapon of choice.
I use it with an old Vox AC30 tube amp or,for blasting into the crowd
with a Triple Rectifier.The effects I use are a Crybaby Wah,a 69'deluxe pedal(fuzz)and a zoom 606II multieffect.
For this guitar is a strat the pickups make some noise, but not more than on a Fender. It sounds very balanced and has no dead spots at all.It provides you a variety of different sounds from soft moans to aggressive roars with the famous "bite".And it never sounds dull or muddy. It can make your hair stand to end or create a sweet, pearly soundscape but it always sounds warm.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The factory-settings were not the best.It had a low action and that was okay but the way the pickups were adjusted made me shake my head.
I had to adjust the pickups as well as the bridge (the two screws that hold the featherclaw weren't parallel so that the whole bridge wasn't in its place). But otherwise there was nothing else to find. The fretwires were well filed, the woods of a very good quality(hard to find in this price range!),nothing loose or oxidized. And the finish was perfect(no "teardrops" or such).

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar was built to last as well as the hardware -for a long time. The finish is thin but that has to be if you want to get a good tone from a guitar. It is a nitrocellulose finish (used as carpaint in the fifties)and it will wear off in several decades if you play the guitar day by day.The strap buttons are solid anyway.
It's reliable but I'd never ever play a gig without a backup...you never know...

Customer Support : No Opinion
For Vester doesn't exist anymore there's no warranty given on the instrument. But due to its simple, solid construction I don't care about that.

Overall Rating : 10
This is my second Vester guitar(and 6th guitar).I'don't know for how long I'm playing, but it's over a decade -for sure.If this guitar was stolen,I'd try to get it again.I love the tone of this guitar, the low action and the beautiful finish. There's nothing that I hate about it.
I have compared it to some Fender Strats of every price range and I finally found one which Tone was equal -a rare pre-CBS-Strat from 1956 that belonged to the guitar shop owner's private collection. It's funny to have a guitar which sounds just like a Strat from the good old days and isn't even a Fender!

Early 90's - I got it in 93. Has the normal strat features (s/s/s, 5-way, 21 frets). What I liked was the construction - swamp ash body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with bigger frets than a Fender - very useful for vibrato. Plus the good gear like locking Gotoh tuners, roller nut, active pickups (VERY quiet), straplocks. Also has a floating tremolo which I don't like as it complicates the tuning and I don't use anyway. Lovely looking guitar - cherry sunburst on natural wood with a clear scratchplate, chrome hardware and black pup covers. But the ash body does make it heavy.

Sound : 9
Doing bluesy and soft rocky stuff. It is great for that - rich and bright, but not fat like a Les Paul. Currently strung with 9-42 but I think I will go back to 10-46. Sound is very, very like a 95 Japanese Fender strat that belongs to a guy I play with occasionally. It's sound is just a tiny bit fuller and a tiny bit less twangy than the Fender. Using it through a Marshall VS65R, mostly on the clean channel and occasionally with a small amount of overdrive on the other channel. I have played it through a Music Man 210-HD (= Fender Twin Reverb), and it sounded really good. I'll just have to get a decent valve amp. The pickups are MUCH quieter than the Fender's. Occasionally I use a Zoom 505 for effects, but I must admit that I like the clean sound best, and sometimes a little extra gain for effect. The Marshall does this very well. The sound is just right for me.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It was very well built and set up. Played beautifully straight away. The action is noticeably higher than the Fender, but that's fine with me. One thing that doesn't really cause a problem but is there - the bridge doesn't have individual saddle height adjustments, and the radius of the bridge doesn't exactly match the radius of the fingerboard. This contributes a tad to the high action - you have to move the whole bridge just as you do in a Gibson.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The thing is built like a tank, and the hardware is all top quality. In almost 9 years, mostly sitting on a stand in the music room, it has not developed any corrosion on any metal parts. The finish is as clear and glossy as the day it was bought. The frets have a very minor amount of wear, but are holding up very well. Very dependable and keeps in tune. I don't play publicly, only in private with like-minded friends, so the gig bit doesn't apply to me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them. I understand from other posts that they are out of business.

Been playing since 1965 - started folk, then went classical and branched into electric in the late 70's. I also have an entry-level Ibanez RX40 (2nd hand and it's had a hard life, but it's a robust little guitar), and a Gibson Les Paul Studio (96 model, great rock sound), along with a Maton C45 classical (owned since 1970, beautiful sound) and a Yamaha F310 acoustic (very good value for money). If it were lost or stolen, I couldn't replace it as they don't make them any more. To replace it I'd look very closely at a 2nd hand Fender (the new American ones are expensive here, even the Mexican strat lists at AU$1250 - someone is making a large profit!) plus I'd check out the better made strat clones - some of them are very good guitars. I love quiet pickups and the sound, and I though I don't like the weight, I tolerate it because it no doubt contributes to the good sound just like the Les Paul. When I bought it I looked at several strats and strat clones, and this one sounded (to me) virtually the same as a Fender hanging right next to it on the rack, but cost less than one third of the Fender's price. It didn't have the low action of the Fender (My cheap Ibanez has a lower action than this one). I plan to keep it for a long time yet.

I purchased my Vester strat copy in 2000 from a guitar shop in Derby (uk).I cant remember the name of the shop but i can remember that the guitar cost me #120.When i purchased the guitar I had already tried several different guitars like the Fender squire strat and other copies of the strat.I found that the Vester was the best one i had tried,my reasons for that were because of the sound, finish and general neatness of the guitar.I have no idea when it was made or what type of pickups it has and would love to find out more about it.It has 21 frets,a string-thru body bridge and 3 pickups with 5 settings, and a volume, and 2 tone screw switches.
I do not no anything else about the guitar other than that the neck appears to have no seperate glued on finger board as you would normally find.

Sound : 8
The guitar suits my music style (rock/metal) very well because it has a clear and rich sound to it,this makes using the zoom gfx707 effects unit very effective because i can get some really good sounds from it- if i want heavy metal i get it and if i want light rock i get it.It produces a sound for my every needs.
The guitar is not noisy in a bad way at all,all the settings give me nice clear sounds. The only problem i have ever had with sound was when one of the pickups became very loose and it began to create an unwanted distorting effect, this was soon fixed with a screw driver!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The finish of my guitar is very pleasing. It is sunburst from black through to orange and has a nice shiny varnish on it which polishes up very well. The bridge is properly routed and it has a properly bookmatched top. There are no poorly cut or fitted parts.

Reliability/Durability : 10
It plays wonderfully live and seems as though it was built to last. The finish is good enough to last and does not wear off.I can depend on it to work and feel no need to have a back up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I only got a warranty from the shop and this was for 1 year.I have never dealt with vester because i dont know if they still exist.I have never had to have it repaired.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing this guitar for 2 years but have played the guitar for about 5 years. If it were stolen or lost i would try to get it back but if i could not i would buy a gibson les paul.I know i propably got ripped off but at the end of the day the guitar is excellent.

I dont know when it was made but I bought second hand in 92. It is basicaly a Strat copy. 3 pickups with 5 positions (1,1/2,2,2/3,3). When I was young and stupid(er), I bought this guitar thinking it was a Fender product (as the Vester logo uses the 'Fender' font). The finish is the wonderful 'black edge fades through to brown wood grain'. White fingerplate. Neck is light brown, single layer, no idea what kind of wood. 21 frets with easy access to the last few. I used to stress the neck a little to get a little tremelo out of it. Having Strats now, I notice the necks are a lot more solid. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted :) Angled lead socket.. all the basic strat features.

Sound : 7
Having moved up to real Strats now, I can appreciate that the pickups produce a thinner sound. My first side by side comparison was with a Gibson Les Paul on a 100 Watt Tube Head. Needless to say the Les Paul won. The cheaper bridge means you can hear the strings shift sometimes as you bend, and holding tune is significantly more difficult with the cheap, simple mechanism. No major problems though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
10 Years on this guitar has been the heart of my musical life. The reason I have played it so long is that, for a cheap ass guitar, it has a great fret board. It has a close, supple action and without buzzing. Compared to the other cheap ass guitars my friends had at the time, it was the sweet spot. If I was to rate the action in respect to it's price I would give it 10. Always a pleasure to play, this guitar often gets played 'unplugged' for the comfortable action alone. If I was to complain, I would say the pickup selector was noisy and some of the cutout on the fingerplate was dodgy (but only one section, so perhaps a retro fit?).

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar has lasted me 10 years, 20 houses, 4 cities and about 5 girlfriends. Compared to these women, it has been extreamly dependable. I don't want to give the impression this is an amazing guitar by any standards, but as a cheap strat copy, I have gotten every cent worth. I was looking to replace the pickups and bridge but realized that the picks alone are the cost of the guitar. I did though spend $6 on new screws and bolts as the originals had rusted. At least she looks better now.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No idea. I don't think Vester exists anymore anyway.

Overall Rating : 8
This was my first guitar, so of course I am going to have sentimental attachment to it. But I guess the real test was that for many many years I had no desire to change to anything else. I had enough experience with other guitars to know the fret board was just the way I liked it, but not enough experience to know that I could spend a few hundred dollars more for better sound. I have given the overall rating an 8. The problem with ratings is that better guitars will have the same rating, but a higher price tag. On a scale of 1 to 10 for budget guitars I would give this a 9, simply because of asthetics and action. A friend of mine bought a guitar that he liked the look of, but I warned him about the nasty action. Soon enough, he dropped it for something more playable. So, in a cheap guitar, action is everything. What the novice doesn't know about pick-ups and bridges wont hurt them.. it didn't hurt me for a long time :).
