Well i bought this about...well must be two years ago now and so far its worked without a flaw. It's got 21 frets on a deep red/brown neck (rosewood i believe) and quite thick frets. The necks quite thick aswell so it can utilise some very beefy strings I've currently got 12's in it and they fit fine and the neck hasn't snapped yet either(thats usually a good sign). Tune-o-matic bridge and non-locking tuners, the lower (high note) ones seem a lil fiddley and seems to be a little erratic, but that could be my dodgy string job this time. Control-wise theres a 3 way selector which has 4 nobs 2 tone and 2 volume a pair for each major selection, the third (in between both) using both I believe. Finally the guitar has 2 humbuckers.

Sound : 7
The overall sound is fair, especially as im only using a cheap 10-watt Kustom amp. I find the sound to be quite hollow and lacking at times and this leaves solo-ing sounding a little flat and lifeless and heavyier stuff fuzzy and gratey. The strings also seem to vibrate a little against the frets. The final bad point is that bends on the thinner strings seem a slightly wobbley but again that could be down to me.

On the plus, there is a nice tonal difference between the two major selections which is great. Dont get me wrong this isn't a cheap nasty guitar in fact its very good for the price, you can get a good variety from it, but it won't compare to the higher range guitars no matter what amp or effects you put through it. I think my favorite feature sound wise is the seemingly endless sustain, which if played correctly seems to resonate slightly.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It looks great, Deep cherry red (in my case anyway) with a delicious grained effect. Mine is completely smooth no nasty lumps or misaligned joints. The pickup selector isn't overly noisey with just a simple mechanical click. It was all shiney and sparkley when i first got it and even now 2 years on, albeit a few scuffs its still wonderfully shiney.

Reliability/Durability : 7
I wouldn't use this guitar for live playing, something of a higher quality would be required but its excellent for private use and I believe it will last a long, long time. The strap buttons are highly sturdy but they seem to twist the strap a little and make the neck plunge downwards when unsupported. It is very dependable and has very once failed on me. The only damage mine has sustained is that one of the tone nobs had fallen lose, but unscrewing the backing plate and re-fastening it and its as good as new.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never used it but I think the the guy in the shop said a years warrenty.

Overall Rating : 8
Overall I would recommend this guitar to a newbie or someone in my position who is reasonabley intermediate. If it was stolen, i would probably buy a BC Rich warlock simpley because i love the shape of the body, but that doesn't mean if another SG copy came along I wouldn't seriously consider it. I mainly like the look of this guitar from the beatiful colour to the devil horn like shape. The only thing i could hope it had would be a whammy bar but that's probably only a novelty item.

An excellent sg copy features a 3 way selector switch with 2 volume controls for the bridge and neck pick up. Pick ups are quite basic but pull off a good sound, maple body with fixed neck which is a feature I dont really like for maintanance reasons. This copy has a lovely finish and looks great and the double cutaways are great. The bridge is good the tail piece is a nice change from a floyd rose. nice for jazzy solo's and general usage.

Sound : 7
I am using this guitar with a custom sound 700 series amp and a boss gt6 pedal and it is sounding ok. put some seymour duncan pick-ups in and it sounds great. This guitar doesn't really handle the bass frequency's like an original sg can. I like the action and it is an easy guitar to play.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action on the guitar is good and makes it easy to play. The workmanship that went into making this guitar wasn't great. I have found the volume has a slight crackle when from low to high therefore suggesting poor soldering and poor electrics. everything is pretty solid no flaws yet and a great finish.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I think this guitar will withstand live playing but I would have another guitar as backup as I just don't trust it fully yet. The finish is great and I don't think any problems will arise from it. a very solid guitar from strap buttons to hardware, I can depend on it but I would always have a back up.

im pretty sure its made in china or something cos its so cheap! but the quality tells me otherwise. mahogany body which is beautifully finished and double humbuckers that give the crunch that any rocker needs, clean is a bit tarnished, but still better than average. tune-o-matic bridge which in all fairness keeps it in tune nicely. three way selector and........ well basically look at the #1000+ gibson SG for all the specs

Sound : 6
nice sound i like it alot. but im getting bored of writing to much. its a nice guitar, good for a beginner not a pro

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
its pretty well set up. a few joins around the neck are overflowing or underdone but nothing that changes sound or stability. pickups are nicely adjusted....... everything on the guitar as far as im aware is poifect! even shines nicely

Reliability/Durability : 8
ive knocked it a few times and the headstock hasnt fallen off or anything so i would say its quite reliable, but i havent gigged it yet so i cant say. the finish looks damn good. strap buttons are solid as this is a VERY top heavy guitar i.e. the headstock sinks fast to your feet.

Customer Support : No Opinion
no idea i never dealt with them yet and ive had it a month

ok it has about 21 frets its ok but idont really like anything about it

Sound : 3
it has a nasty distortion and the clean sound is nothing special. it has the most basic distortion soun and unlike my freinds cheaper nicer squier telecaster the distortin is undistinguishable and just drones on.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
it all works but there is lots of buzzing on the low strings. on higher frets if you try and bend a string the guitar simply mutes it

Reliability/Durability : 10
its completley reliable

i never deALT WITH THE COMPANY THIS WAS MY FIRST GUITAR

Overall Rating : 4
ive played for about a year but even in the early months this guitar was unionspireing. the good point is iff you like the look of the sg then you can easily tune it up as it has 2 humbuckers
