This guitar with its mini humbuckers is based on a Les Paul Deluxe so that's all needs be said.

You can squeeze some great tones out of this guitar.I can't fault the stock PUPs, they're good enough though obviously the guitar would improve with an upgade.

The action on this guitar, after some slight tweeking is superb.Everything is solid and being made of mahogany feels the part.
I suppose there has to be an inevitable trade off and this is where the guitar is ever so slightly let down. The overall look is great but on close inspection there are one or two flaws, not on the main surfaces but mainly where they meet.Nothing desperate mind you.The hardware , though standard stuff, is good enough.

You need to be a little more careful with through neck guitars but other than that i don't envisage any problems. At some point i might look at some high quality tuners for it but i'm quite happy at the moment.

These are truly wonderful guitars for the price, just as good ,if not better than its Epiphone equivalent for ??150 less! They also look the part.I've been playing for nearly 25 years and the quality/tone on offer here is fabulous, forget the name on the headstock go and buy one they are an absolute bargain!

I guess it was made in 2003. Country of origin; I really don't know. It has 22 frets and is solid-top. A 3-way selector with 2 volume and 2 tone knobs. The pu's are mini-humbuckers. The guitar is well made and solid all the the way (with the real LP weight!) The hardware is goldplated and the tuners looks vintage but are not the best (it's all in the price.

I meanly play blues (EC style) and I'm a real Strat man. I own several Fender Strats (including a Custom Shop one) and this guitar was pure for fun. My main Amp is at the moment a Vox valvetronic and it sound just great with all guitars. Now the sound. As I said I'm a real Strat player but man...... does this guitar sounds gooooood. Just like my EC Strat with TBX and Midboost. And all that for euro 250,00. It just can't be beaten. Beautiful Mid and High. A little (sometimes) too much on the low end. Clean, distorted it makes no difference. This guitar can do it all.

The action is (as many "cheap" guitars) a little off. But you can fix this in an instant. The pu's however with very nicely adjusted. And so is the rest of the hardware.

wow!!! for the price you will struggle to find anything that can match it. i play in a new metal/emo band and also play in a 60s/70s/80s cover band. i have to say it can cover almost all the bases.ive used it for ac/dc and zep stuff and rocking out to metallica. the mini humbuckers pack quite a punch if you use the right amount of drive/effects you can get almost any tone imaginable. i plug it straight into marshall mg50 and 8080vs for the classic stuff and if you push the drive up it just gives a pleasant bluesy cruch. push it thru some distortion pedal and it really gives you a kick in the ass

the set up was a bit of a let down but i found it really easy to mess with the string and pickup heights without any prior knowledge. ten times easier to set up than a strat. the finish looks good until you dig a little deeper but what do you expect at this price???

ive played 8 gigs with this guitar and it has never let me down.i never gig without backup but every time i have to pack up after a gig my warlock gives me a nasty look and says "will you ever use me?".
its been through some rough times and has taken knocks like an heavyweight boxer, this thing is solid!

i love how versitile it is but if i lost it i would have to think about getting another for 1 reason, its very heavy. it restricts my stage presence because i have to concentrate on holding it. but unless your gonna be dancing around like a madman then this is ideal.
the pickup selector came in handy for toggle switching and was noicless when being flicked on/off.

well... what year it was made, I don't know, but it can't be a distant past, usual features of a les paul, only this one with mini-humbuckers, which makes it actually a Les Paul Deluxe...
A 'normal' 50's neck profile, feels the same as my trusty Gibson LP's, as does the weight...

Before I judge a guitar I play it through all my amps and compare it to the guitars I already own with the sound settings I'm used to;
so it's been a Mesa Rectifier, one JCM 900, one JCM 800 and a Line6 Flextone HD. Here's my verdict: tis guitar sounds a lot focused compared to my Gibbies mainly due to the mini-humbuckers, there's a lot more mids in there. But surprisingly for a guitar in this price range it's 'crunch' sound is bright and clear beyond expectations, well defined, very warm, the sound you'ld yearn for on a cold winter evening.
The pickups are completely noiseless as are the pots, the only minor thing here is when you gently turn down the volume you lose your sound suddenly between one and zero plus the sound muddens a bit.
I wanted to swap pickups anyway so I could take this one on tour but I'm not sure anymore, this baby rocks, it's alnico pickups do the job!

factory set-up could have been better, well, action was a little too high for me, but that's a personal thing I guess...
Pickups needed no adjustment, they're just waiting for you, in the right place.By re-setting up the action I got a little buzz on the high E-string, just a little!, only there!, and that's solved, frets are ok! Buy a Gibson, it won't be better, nope!
There are some flaws in the finish, mainly dust particles, just here and there, if you look close enough and the gold finish is a gold finish but the back of this guitar is beautifully finished in a dark brown-red finish still showing the beautiful wood underneath!
Hardware is gold, saddles work out fine, no loose tuning pegs (on the contrary!), the nut is cut good...

This one definitely withstands playing live, alltough in the long run I have my doubts about the pots and the wiring used here, I opened up the control cavity and the amount of little wires coming from x and going to x is close to a jungle, but very well soldered, strangely enough, as I said before: no noise!!???!!! The hardware will do the job for years to come but it'l loose it's gold finish one day. The finish on the guitar itself is thick! I'm gonna take this guitar on tour so yes, you can depend on it! Would I use it without a back up? I never do that, no matter what guitar I'm using, just in case I break a string... , the question is: would the electronics fail me? NO!

never had to deal with them, I guess it's just a small manufacturer of guitars in the small-price-range, not a real company, but warranty is guaranteed for one year...

I'm playing guitar now for like 17 years, mainly rock, blues, metal, punkrock, (I've allways played on Gibson'Les Pauls, I like the les paul for it's versatility you see?) and i'm not gonna wait to buy another one when this one's stolen, I'm alreadty planning to buy the LP in the Wine Red finish one day plus checking out the other Vintage-models as well. The thing is these (the V100GDL) have a set neck, I only wish they'ld make em with normal size humb humbuckers in this finish

Bought new 2002, origin unknown. LP Goldtop Deluxe stylee. Solid mahogany body, 5-piece mahogany set neck, Bullion Gold finished carved top. 2 Alnico mini-humbuckers, kluson type tuners, gold plated hardware.

The sound from the neck pickup is astonishing! It ranges from a great Jazz tone all the way through blues to the original KERRANG tone depending on amp settings (Pignose G40V). No microphony. Bridge pickup is same as neck pickup, but in this position there is less output. Slightly microphonic. I can't make my mind up about the bridge pickup. I've only had the guitar for a month but I mainly bought this guitar for the bridge pickup sounds (versatile and VERY convincing). Overall sound is much better focussed than full sized humbuckers with lower output. Mixed pickups sound OK but I'm still trying to find something to hang the handle on with the bridge pickup. I give it a 10 for the neck sounds, 8 for the bridge so overall I give it 9.

This guitar has the right ingredients (good timber, decent pickups)well stuck together but it has an air of wonkiness about the cosmetics. This is something one has to accept for this price.

Been playing guitar over thirty years. If it was lost I would buy it again (YAWN!). My objective was to increase my sonic options ( my other guitars are 2 Korean Danelectro U2 and 1 Japanese Tokai strat. As far as looks go I think it should be called "Overthetop" instead of Goldtop but I have an affinity with things wonky looking providing evrything works. So I'm satisfied with it.
