Excellent finish, grain shows through paint a treat. Looks like a far more expensive guitar. My only gripe is the cheap looking scratchplate, however, since I remove them from my 'Pauls' this was not a problem for me. Nice hardware, really well finished neck.

Sound : 9
Excellent sound, barks when it should and growls when and how it should.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Well set up out of the box, well packed too. Pickups adjusted nicely, not too high at the neck to cause string damping and higher at the bridge. Overall neck/body/bridge/setup great. Playable straight away.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I do gig this guitar. The hardware will stand up to the test of time, however, I feel the gold plating will not be too robust but this would add to the relic feel later on.

Customer Support : No Opinion
1 years warranty.

I bought this as a cheap backup to my Les Paul Classic which I do not want to get 'dinged' and am more than happy with it. For ??150 I am amazed how well it stacks up against my Paul. The pickups are great but there is a sonic difference to the real Paul buckers but for the price paid, I am more than happy with it. It does what it says on the tin and is a more than capable axe. So happy in fact, I recently purchased a hard case to keep it in good nick.

LP shaped Mahogany body with maple top - not "flame" but beautiful grain. Mahogany neck (set not screwed). Wilkinson hardware throughout (bridge, tuners) including Wilkinson alnico humbuckers each with its own Vol and Tone.

Killer Tabacco sunburst finish. It's a glossy finish which you don't get on the Icon distressed series. Gold hardware finishes it all off.

Beautiful looking thing. Feels great in my hands.

Sound : 8
I was very impressed by the stock sound of this instrument. I have never owned a LP (original or copy) before and so I don't know what it's "supposed" to sound like, but to my ears its killer.
Clean neck p'up is very warm, clear and sustained but a little dark. Clean bridge is bright and sparkly but not harsh - also sustained. Middle is a little flat (possibely due to the neck p'up) but rolling back the neck vol slightly improves this balance.
Distorted this guitar sounds wicked. I have been listeniong carefully for the "woodiness" and "howl" that I assotiate with famous LP users (think Aerosmith - Walk This Way solo). The Vintage comes exceptionally close afer finding the right balance of dist and volume. [As with all guitars, the key is to find the right level of distortion and volume - dont use dsitortion to cover up you technique as you just get mush and mudiness]. Great all -rounder - rock, blues, soul, lounge and even possibly jazz.
Overall the sound was killer but I felt the neck p'up was lacking. I changed out the pickups for some GFS Vintage 59's and replaced the pots - cheaper guitars are always supplied with cheap linear pots for vol which really bugs me.
GFS P'ups improved the sound dramatically - they add detail and chime. Balanace is now fantastic.
I give a 8 for stock, 9 with GFS p'ups.

Bought my V100 from Regent Guitars - for ??25 they provide their Premier service (quaity control and setup process). Therefore I cant comment on factory setup.

I can say that with a good setup the guitar plays itself. I have 1.5mm(E6)and 1mm(E1)action with no buzzes or rattles. Neck is almost dead stright with a hairs gap at 7th fret. Nut is cut and adjusted very well. Intonation was 99% there. I tweaked it with Strobosoft.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I'm not a pro but I am a regular paid performer. As such I need reliable instruments.
I havent had the V100 very long but its construction, setup and feel convince me that I can rely on it. I have and will continue to gig without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Can't comment but in my experience getting support from manufacturers is a nightmare !!
Thankfully I can do a lot of repairs myself which leaves the issue of parts. I've checked out ebay and there appears to a plentiful supply of Wilkinson hardware.

Overall Rating : 9
I have never seen quality of this standard on a guitar of this price. This guitar is a plyuers guitars and I would recommend it to both pros and beginners.
I would recommed a good setup from the outset but that goes for any guitar.

I would definitely buy another - In fact my wife is buying me another in Cherry S/burst !!

Classical Les Paul-style guitar with two humbuckers, 22 frets, Tune-O-Matic bridge.Tobacco Sunburst and polyurethane finish I suppose.Original pickups were Wilkinson Double Coil.Quite heavy body, made from mahogany, also like the neck, weight is about 5 kgs.

Sound : 9
I play mainly hard rock and metal and this guitar fit my style very well.I replaced original pickups with Seymour Duncans Alnico II. and that's it!Now the guitar can cry when I use my wah wah.Sustain is very good, thanks for the thickness of body and maybe for the set neck.I would only complain about the frets.I use 11's strings and the sound is sometimes quite buzzing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
So there you can see that you've buyed a cheap guitar. On mine, the first inlay on the third fret is not set very well.Or maybe the output jack isn't straight with the edge of body. But that is OK.The guitar has very nice sound so I don't mind.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Time will proove this guitar. All parts are very massive and well made so I hope that they'll last.

Customer Support : 10
Warranty is two years, but I don't have anything to change.

Overall Rating : 10
Very good guitar for incredibly good price.I thought between this and Epiphone, but after I've tried both I have a winner.I hope that this company won't end like Epi.

This guitar was made in the far east, and is a standard les paul scale 22 fret jobbie. All hardware on the guitar is by Wilkinson, and I found the tuners to be excellent, I also own an Epiphone '56 Gold Top Les Paul and the quality of pegs and gears is comparable. BEWARE: The neck seems to be based on the rather "chunky" 50's les paul neck, instead of the 60's version. It just surprised me a little as with my Epi the neck is the slim 60's version and it took a little getting used to. All is in good working order, pots are fine and selector does it's job.

Sound : 8
I play mainly classic rock (Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, Lynyard Skynard etc) and the guitar suits this very well. I am particulary impressed by the amount of low and mid range that can be summoned from the pickups. The neck pickup provides a very thick, rhino stopping rhythm tone, whilst the bridge gives that raw kick that every rocker wants. The only problem I have with the sound is that up towards the higher pitches (last 10 frets on E and B strings) the sound tends to fade slightly, which upset me as I let rip into a G n R "Don't Cry" solo, but I bought this as a project guitar and as such will be putting in some Alinco Pro II Duncans when funds arise. Sustain is good, but rubbish set up ruined it above 12th fret.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I am very critical of the fit and finish on this guitar. Firstly I removed it from the box and wanting to give it a whirl i peeled the plastic off of the pickups... and the Bridge pickup was nearly pulled out!!! It seems to be held in place with blu-tac. But it has stayed so I can't be too critical. It suits my style (and I just prefer) to remove the scratchplate, and underneath there was a screw sized dent with corresponding crescent scratch. The work on the neck binding is pretty darn awful and the action was horrendously high on my model. A pro set up sorted these. However I LOVE the finish, the sunburst is gorgeous.

Reliability/Durability : 10
All said apart from dodgy pickup this guitar feels well solid. You're not playing a Maple and mohogany chambered ballet dancer here, this is a bruiser, a hefty chunk of solid mahogony. This guitar has hit the floor several times, and the floor has come off far worst. I always have a back up guitar but this thing feels so brute I don't think I'd have any problems getting through a few tough nights with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Excellent service from dealer, no contact with maker

Overall Rating : 9
For it's rubbish set up, weak high ended and rather terrible lack of care on finishing (pre-said dings and glue all up neck binding) the guitar has become my most played. Why?! I don't know. I was looking for a project guitar that I could totally upgrade and it serves that purpose well, though I bear in mind many will just keep it stock, and with a pro set up this guitar won't disappoint. This overall score is justified by it being so cheap... if I paid #1500 for it like a Gibson Custom... well I'd probably be in counselling now. But no, for the price it has loads of rock, and BAGS of character. In the old battle of Epi vs Vintage Epi won against my V100, but with care and love it'll be worthy of any stage. Get a pro set up and get rocking.

Probably made in 2003 in korea or china, i dunno. Anyway, has a set neck, mahogany material body with a rosewood neck. single cutaway, twin humbuckers (unbranded), gold hardware, standard lp tone controls.

Sound : 8
For a guitar of this price, the sound u can get out of it is very decent. got great sustain along with those fantastic lp bluesy/rock tones which are so deep and resonant. for #200, u can't really expect much better from the standard pickups that are provided, they certainly deliver the sound i like. i use a marshall 15 dfx, guvnor 2 and a supervibe wich compliment the instrument well and means that i can get a wide variety of sounds (my tastes range from tom mcrae - stereophonics, although the phonics recent stuff is kinda crap. sorry to any fans. however, i usually play dashboard confessional or counting crows songs at the moment).
As yet, i haven't put it through a big amp to see how it sounds under pressure, so no comment there.
Otherwise, the sound is a lot better than what i hoped for on a lp copy.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the shop that i got this from had already set it up beautifully. the neck and action is fantastic, i can play on it for hours. Technically, i can't find a fault.
However, on close inspection, the finish is a little sloppy in places. the scratchplate has a few dings and the paint has goes over a few edges. also, wish the inlays were abalone as well as the headstock. form a distance though, it look the dogs genitals.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
i think this thing could stand a gig, i'd certainly consider using it as standard. gold hardware is rubbing off already though, but i knida like that, gives a vintage look to it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
they are somewhat elusive.

have been playing on and off for about 8 years and currently own a rather nice cort acoustic (a very underestimated brand) as well as this thing. i love this guitar and it delivers exactly what i want. was prepared to part with my hard earned money to get the epiphone equivelent. however, this beats it hands down in terms of playability. the epiphone does have the (very slight) edge on sound, but this is far better value for money. leave the gibsons for the pros who can afford them!

Single cutaway Les Paul body, block inlays, mahogany body material with rosewood fretboard, thru finish (tobacco sunburst), tune-o-matic bridge, gold covered hardware, 2 tone and 2 volume controls, cream scratchplate, abalone headstock logo, 3-way selector switch, double humbucker pickup configuration. No tremelo arm.

Sound : 8
I couldn't believe how much this guitar fitted into the scheme of my music with my Marshall MG30DFX amplifier. It's ideal for my rock 'n' roll band where we play music similar to Oasis, Blur and Cold Play, and it makes song writing a dream. Whilst it doesn't boast a wide variety of tone control, the ease of arriving at the right sound is phenomenal. Just a flick of the selector switch and you've completely switched the mood, from a sombre humble pie mode to a hard rock near grunge mode on the bridge pickup. There are however, some woody bassy sounds when on clean mode, but on overdrive it kills an Epiphone by the sheer quality every time.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I was surprised at the good condition of the guitar after reading many disaster reviews of loose jack sockets and fret buzing. I was unable to find any flaws as such, apart from a slight scuff on the underside that may have ocurred during transit. Unfortunately, the gold covering on the tuning pegs was slightly worn out. The fixed neck is very well secured without any gaps visible, but the nut has a slight overflow of glue on the side.

Reliability/Durability : 9
The one and only drawback in this category is the gold covering that appears to wear off easily. Otherwise, in all respects this guitar is truly gigworthy, with surgically attached strap buttons that are yet to let me down, virtually noiseless pickups (even on very high gain!), and smooth tuning pegs. So far I have only done small pub gigs with this but I've never had to give the guitar a second thought, no rattling and no dodgy unwanted feedback, and I have never felt the need for a backup, but you can never be too careful.

Customer Support : 6
They made sure I was able to keep track of the order every step of the way. They deliver every item in 24 hours (or so they say) as long as it is in stock (unfortunately this wasnt at the time so I had to wait a week), but despite my constant nagging and winging they reassured me everytime that the order was on its way, and it did arrive as promised.

Overall Rating : 9
This is my first electric guitar, that I only really bought to get a firmer image as the frontman of my band, but got a hell of a lot more than I bargained for. I had been playing an Admira Almeria Classic guitar that continues to serve me well to this day. I didn't expect it to be quite so heavy, but once I fitted a decent strap to it it was floating on my shoulder. If it were stolen, I'd hunt down and brutally torture the person who did, or just buy it again depending on the mood I would be in, but in all seriousness it is worth every penny, and I almost feel guilty paying so little. I love how it is so flexible to my style of music, and opens up new sounds that are well worth experimenting with. The only thing that keeps me awake at night is the fading gold on the tuning pegs, and I fear the same fate will eventually arise on the humbuckers and the bridge. I was determined to buy a Les Paul before I even heard about this guitar, and I was so close to buying an Epiphone Les Paul Standard for about 200 pounds extra, but this vintage isnt just better value for money, its simply a better guitar, god knows why theyre allowed to make them so inexpensively. If I had it customised I would have added a tremolo arm but not many Les Pauls have them anyway. In the first week I had this guitar I managed to write two of the best songs I'm ever going to write, songs that would usually take me 2 months to write each, but as I said earlier, it's a songwriters dream.

Standard Les Paul copy, two unbranded single coils, tulip shaped sealed machine heads, stop tailpiece and it is a sort of cross between cherry sunburst and tobacco burst colour. Very dark cloured rosewood fingerboard. Good solid feeling guitar, frets and neck join show no workmanship flaws at all! Neck is nice medium shape and feels more shallow than standard les paul to me (good for smaller hands).

Sound : 7
Used to play mainly rock / stereophonics / manics style mostly through a Marshall MG50 and Digitech GNX1 / RP100. I fitted Kent Armstrong pickups and quality pots to this guitar as soon as I got it and I think it was wll worth the #80 spent doing this. Would be Rated 9 with new pick ups 7 without because the K/A's really show how weak budget standard pickups are.

Played staight into the amp (best way to judge a guitar rather than an effects swamp first) the guitar is great, nice warm bluesy tones from the neck and ample rock tones from the bridge. This model does what a les paul should - blues / rock.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Bought guitar set up from shop and was happy with the job, however I later put a set of 11's on and have tweaked the action a little - it now plays very well . The gold coloured hardware is starting to wear aleady to metal colour but I dont care about this too much, The build quality as a whole is great, as good as any epiphone, trust the reviews folks!

Reliability/Durability : 7
I think this guitar would withstand live playing, I am still a 'bedroom hero' but this guitar makes the grade. The strap button on the front is placed too far towards the side on my guitar making it liable to slip the strap. I dont think anyone should gig without a backup no matter what guitar they own.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not dealt with company and do not know about warranty

I have been playing around three years now and also own a mexican powerhouse strat, ovation accoustic and a Westfield les paul junior copy (another excellent budget guitar!!).

I would buy another vintage if it were stolen and am very happy with the guitar overall. It is every bit as good as the epiphones I tried and has nicer tuners (I hate the green plastic things epi's have). The only thing I want to change now is the pickup selector switch which, as with all budget guitars, is crap. I recommend if you buy this guitar fit kent armstrongs and size 11 strings to get the most out of it.....

i bought this as my third guitar, after playing for roughly a year. When i first played this guitar, i was blown away. The sound is aamazing, and it even sounds good with the rubbish strings provided. I play it through a marshall practice amp. This giutar kicks ass! I searched long and hard for a better guitar for the price, but i couldnt find one. Also, before i bought it i tried both the tsb and the epiphone les paul. I preferred the tsb. That speaks for itself.

Sound : 10
i play lots of syles of music, and with a quick flick, i can transform the sound i make amazingly. This guitar does everything.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
everything on my guitar was in prime condition, as far as i can tell, and it sounded ace from the box. I didnt even get fret buzz

Reliability/Durability : 10
ialthough, i want to play live, and i do write songs, i havent played live due to a lack of a band. I would definately use this guitar li ve, as it looks and sounds the part. I would also use tis in a gig without backup.

never had to deal with the company

Bought this guitar in 2002. It's a standard Les Paul copy with twin humbuckers (unbranded) and gold hardware. It's got a fixed neck which is unusual at this price and the normal Les Paul volume and tone controls.

Sound : 10
As I'm quite a novice I don't play a wide range of styles. I mostly like Heavy Rock which the TSB is made for. I play it through a Marshall MG 15 watt amp with a Guv'nor Plus over-drive pedal. The guitar gives a beautiful, rich and warm tone and has tons of sustain. A really classic Les Paul sound. If you select the bridge pickup you can get harsher more metal tones and the neck humbucker is really mellow and rounded, great for grunge.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The overall finish of the guitar is excellent. I had it set up professionally when I bought it so I haven't tried to alter it at all. The fitting of the neck is really professional. My only gripe is that although both tone pots are fine, the two volume controls don't seem to have much range to them, especially the neck pickup.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I don't gig (yet) but this thing is built to last!

I absolutely love this guitar. In fact I bought it partly on the reviews that I read at Harmony Central. I was going to buy an Epiphone but what's the point? The equivalent Epiphone LP was at least #100 more expensive and I can't see anything beating the Vintage TSB for quality of build and sound (except a Gibson of course!). If I would definitely buy another one of these.
