These are made in China, solid spruce top, Mahogany laminate back and sides, fingerboard bound rosewood, neck, nato. the keys arent a brand name but there vwery like my Grovers that are on both my antoria Jazzstar's. described as a "Super Jumbo".
some models come with a fancy scratchplate, which i suggest you insist on as it looks super groovy.stands out from the rest.

Sound : 7
well, this is a good sounding guitar, has a quality sound you'd expect from a more expensive guitar, not quite a Taylor, but it's #130 including delivery, not three grand.
It's loud with good bass and brightness.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I'm super fussy about action and thankfully this one has very low action, perfect tuning and not a hint of buzzing anywhere.I will probably take it down a touch more so that for me it will be perfect, same height at the 12th fret as at the first fret, thats a guitar! , although iv'e been looking into this alot recently and there seems to be a point of view that high action is better for sound/tone, In my book a guitar with crap action is Firewood!
Why dont they put Metal adjusting bridges on them anyway, like my old Eros Jumbo acoustic, In fact they shouldnt even be able to sell guitars with crap action, and you ever try to get the frets worked in order to lower the action and eliminate the buzzing? bastards never do it right and at seventy quid or so a go you think,"what the $^&@ did i pay you that money for", my actions not any better and if i lower it ive still got buzzing?
Anyway, i'm ramblin about experience with a number of semi acoustics iv'e had/got.
Ok next question

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Iv'e got a jumbo acoustic which is over forty years old and its got no signs of falling apart. Ask me in forty years about this one:)

Customer Support : No Opinion
I got this online from a place called firstguitarshop.co.uk for #130 including delivery, delivered in 2 days. The finish/varnish has quite noticeable flaws in it, like its been smudged in various places before dry. If i was buying inside a shop id expect money of or rather id ask for an unflawed one, but i decided id not make a fuss about something thats no bearing on its playability, also i had previously wasted two weeks waiting on this guitar from another Uk shop, planet of sound. when i sent them E mails about what was going on they would just reply like, " were dealing with your order" and, we'll inform you when we have a delivery date, so i phoned them and found that it wasnt in stock which they could have $%^&in told me in the e mails, after 2 weeks they then said it would be another week or 2, i said ,no way and cancelled. So i wasnt willing to go through more delay by returning this one, anyway these are packed and inspected in china, i doubt the shop even new it was flawed finish.
right, im ramblin again, next.

Overall Rating : 10
Ive been playing for nearly thirty years, christ, i should be better:)I wish id asked for the fancy scratchplate design, not to worry, i found one on e bay and took off the plain one, cost #9.
Ive got 2 Antoria Jazzstar semi acoustics, 2 cheap classical guitars and Ibanez As100 semi and a forty odd year old eros Jumbo acoustic.
I first searched for other jumbos and was considering the Epiphone EJ200, or a Takamine, name of which im not sure, but these were around #350 to #400 and after finding a couple of negative reviews on them i was not so keen on parting with that cash for a so so guitar, then i saw the review above and that was me sold.
This will be the acoustic i play for the foreseeable future and im waiting on a set of these new Dean Markley "Alchemy" strings to set of what is already a quality sound.
I did previously try the epiphone EJ 100 which i quickly sold again on E bay, this guitar i will NOT be selling, i may even by another to have in the home for any guitar players visiting me.
But i really like it, as i said it,s not quite a Taylor but it's #130. I can't imagine theres another guitar remotely as good as this without going to #400 upwards and spending that money id have to try it first and not simply buy online. So if you want a big sound and a quality sound for little bucks, try this.
If someone stole it, well, it depends if i caught them soon, i may get jailed, but the passage of time calms you down and id just get another with the fancy scratchplate next time and no flawed laquer.
Anythin else i wish it had, Hmmmmmm, Aye, a winnin lotter ticket inside so i could buy a Gibson like Elvis played.
Best feature; I wanted a Louder guitar, I got it, A better quality guitar, I got it, Good action, got it, great lookin, got it with my E bay scratchplate, Buy it and insist on the scratchplate design.
Keep a Rockin!

I feel a sense of responsability writing a review of this guitar as it's the first for this model on this site so lets start with the basics:-

Its a super jumbo which is a big guitar if you're a small guy or gal,20 frets with medium profile neck etc...rosewood fretboard, solid spruce top, nato neck and ply back and sides. Multi black/white binding and rosette with white Boltaron type tail and back stripe.

Tuners are grover type with kidney shape keys and the finish is natural high gloss...no pickups fitted to this model but for a few extra bucks/quid it comes in a cutaway version with shadow pickup.

Scratch plate is a kind of big Gibson Dove style and while mine is plain tortoise shell I know some are decorated.

I'm only rating this as a 7 cos its just a regular guitar...not beautiful but fine for the rediculously cheap price tag.

Sound : 10
This is why I bought it..I have been really impressed by the Vintage acoustic sound since I bought a VEC500MP about two years ago...I've been so pissed off in the past with other middle of the road guitars that I have bought recently (see my review for my Epiphone)..I wish I could retract that review now because this guitar is streets ahead of that one with a totally outstanding tone which is blowing me and my friends away.

I have a rich git lawyer friend who had a big bonus about a year ago and bought a Martin D45 for nearly #4,500 and I promise you that the tone on this guitar is comprable and in my opinion, better in some ways...the difference is that this guitar cost me #115 which is about as much as a steak dinner in my local.

God I wish I hadn't wasted my money on that epiphone a year ago for more than twice the price ..the lows are so deep and resonant and the highs are so clear I'm amazed

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Cant tell you what the factory settings were like...I bought it online from Planet of Sound in the UK who did a free 12 point set up...everything on the guitar was fantastic from the moment I opened the box

Reliability/Durability : 10
Its a robust beast and for this price I wouldn't give a crap if it was lost/stolen/pee'd on cos I'd buy another in a nano second...Finish is way superior to has beens like the Epiphone which I will now sell to a label junkie

Customer Support : 10
I've dealt with the Vintage suppliers before (John Hornby Skews in the UK)...they've always been extremely helpful and friendly...the warranty is for 12 months

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing since the early 70's when I was a kid...I've been in loads of bands and even had a recording contract with my band KCD in the mid 80's (Dont worry if you haven't heard of them...its another story altogether)

I guess my style is a cross between Neil Young/ Evan Dando but these days I play mainly for fun which is liberating because i dont have to fit into any particular Genre.

I bought this guitar because I dont have the money for a Martin or something comprable...and this guitar is so stupidly superb for the money i still cant believe it....BUY ONE!!!
