Features : 8
Bought in 2003 Korean built, usual specs. 22 frets, 1 x volume 1 x tone controls, 5 way selector switch.
pickup configuration: Humbucker(bridge)/Single(mid)/Single(neck)
Body style Pacifica, Maple neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, Solid timber body (unknown wood). Neck scale: 25.5"

overall, standard strat setup

Sound : 10
Using a Marshall Valvestate 8080 early 90's model amp.
The sound from this guitar blew me away after hearing countless cheapy's, it stands out like a dream. The guitar is quite heavy for such a cheap guitar and feels well built, the bridge humbucker gives a very rich lead tone, and the neck and mid is nice and warm. Perfect for my playing. Roll the tone back and play on the neck pickup and u have a nice warm overdriven sound, much like the beginning lead part of Sweet Child Of Mine and many other GnR Songs.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar was setup perfectly imo. The action was spot on, my only flaw is the controls are loose (i actually like that better!) but i know many players dont.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I would defintly gig with this guitar, i've dropped it countless times, headstock first etc. I have no guitar stand anymore, and well resting a guitar on a laminated floor is very slippy, hence it falling ALOT. The finish is excellent. My only flaw is that the plastic bit on the selector switch has fell off.

As below, Korean built Solid timber (alder???) body shaped as Yam Pacifica but fits in Strat case, Maple neck fretboard of goodnes onl knows what dark coloured timber. 22 tall skinny frets, Dot board and edge markers unbound.

The scale is 25.5" (fender std) the neck is wideish but shallow section and the timber is very well finished, the frets are accurately levelled but not polished (could not expect that at the price).

Tuners are 6 on a side, Diecast, individual and feel very similar to Schaller M6 minis.

Trem is vintage style and it came with 9->42 strings.

Pups are S/S/H and of decent quality, 5 way switch 1 vol. 1 Tone. body edge jack. Idiot resistant, if not idiot proof.

Reason for purchase; Stop my daughter nicking my SG. - It worked well with one fault - now I nick this.

Sound : 10
Big surprise, its fine. the Humbucker lacks the tone of a Paf Pro but it does the job adequately the single coils bite or jangle on demand and the in-between positions are sweeter than anyone has a right to expect. The volume control is a well chosen pot and the tone control does what you'd expect.

Overall it stands comparison with early seventies strats.

It lacks the sustain and screamability of my SG, but its a bolt neck.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Production quality is outstanding - fit of the neck pocket is as good as anything i have ever seen all the fitting were in place and secure and everything worked. The only flaw was the cut of the nut which I would fix it it were my guitar.

Finish, I'm picky and I could find NO FLAWS.

Action: fair (about 3 mm at 12th fret) soon fixed that at the bridge end, the truss needed no adjustment.

Setup, a bit raw. I you'd wanted a trem you will have to set it up yourself (Select the springs and balance) but I use it blocked off, so thats a non issue.

Overall this is astonishingly well put together, Good at any price Outstanding at this point.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Does it stand live playing? yes. and it did the job fine. the strap buttons wor as well as any I've met.

JHS are polite on the phone, have dealt with them on other kit and they have been helpful.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing 30 years. currently own SG and a 335. have owned a variety of stuff down the years and played a bigger variety.

This is an example of BRILLIANT production engineering, all you need to do the job and nothing extra. The body is made of real tree so the strap buttons stay put - not like the MDF rubbish at a higher price point. There is no brand premium on this - the money spent goes on the guitar.
Spend the cash saved on Lessons, its the most certain route to a better sound.

Strat style body, although it is more like a yamaha pacifica than a squier strat. Wood finish, a nice reddish colour. Solid redwood body, not plied, really good quality wood. 22 frets, Humbucker (bridge)/Single (mid)/Single (neck) [standard Fat Strat config.]Decent Pickups for the price. The whammy is like a childs toy, but it's the same on every squier and even the pacifica 312.

Sound : 9
Im mostly into Nirvana, its good for that, especially with the humbucker, which has a raspy, tearing sound to it when overdriven, and a nice bright tone when clean. The neck and middle single coil give a nice warm tone, but I decided to replace the neck single coil and the existing humbucker with some decent high output humbuckers. Any pickups that cost more than 20 quid sound nice in it. I'm playing a 10 watt vantage, which is excellent for its size, although its no Marshall. Overall it sounds absolutely brilliant, especially for its price, with great tonal variety. Much Better than any squier in the same price range.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Ok action and good fit+finish, frets were perfect.Pickups didnt suit my style, too low, since I like really high output, but thats only a minor problem. The saddle and spring tension, however were way out. the spring tension was wrong giving a weird slight phaser effect, which is annoying when playing clean. The wood didnt matches well. If you are buying one of these, make sure it comes fully setup by the shop or you'll be coming back again a week later to get it set up. I made that mistake once and wont make it again. Otherwise everything fitted perfectly.

Reliability/Durability : 8
It is very reliable and durable, although the finish is'nt overly thick (otherwise you couldn't see the wood underneath, which really does look nice). The front strap button is kinda unstable because i used an electric screwriver on it once and wrecked the thread, but thats kinda my fault. The finish lasts perfectly (only one or two tiny dents in the finish after a couple of months of hard playing). It tunes well and stays, although the whammy detunes it a little. I would gig with this without a backup. Its one of the best you canbuy in it's price range.

Never dealt with 'em. No need to.

I also play an epiphone Les Paul Studio, and this guitar hold its own against it, although it doesnt have quite the sustain. Make sure you sk to get it properly set up if you're buying one.
