Features : 7
Nine string, 1967, Italian made, 22 fret, solid body, sunburst, three pickup S-S-S, five position switch, Passive, 1 volume, two tone, Rosewood neck, teardrop body, standard Bigsby type Vox tremolo bridge, standard Vox tuners, thick chunky neck - wide and fat.

Sound : 8
It's a good giutar for your standard rhythm because of the extra three strings on the high end, if you could get it to stay in tune and you can get over the almost baseball bat size of the neck. Definetly not a guitar for playing extensive lead, even though you can get some wierd sounding runs as long as you stay on the top three strings. I use a Music Man 210 from back in the day and I can make it sound very nice indeed. All jangly on the top end. Bottom leaves a little to be desired. It's got a very unique sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
I was given this guitar so I had my buddy set it up, so it's as good as it's getting. The finish is beatiful. The hardware is standard Vox late sixties cheap Italian crap with everything that goes with it. The 'chrome' on the bridge assemly is cracked and peeling. The tremolo arm is rigged so it won't flap in the breeze. All the electrics are in original and untouched condition and sound damn good, which is nice. Tuners don't stay in tune though and the neck is barely acceptable, but I have big hands anyway so it works for me. Action is good but not great and there's a little buzz up top on the high E.

Reliability/Durability : 5
It's lasted for the last 38 years and still looks and sounds relatively good, I don't play it as my main but I pull it out on a song or two. This doesn't seem to be abused or even played that much so it's in preety good condition. I wouldn't depend on this guitar in a live situation, but it's kinda cool to whip it out and watch the guitar geeks wonder what it is.

I've been playing for 30 years and own a few guitars, mostly Fenders. '79 Strat, '72 Tele Deluxe, '76 Starcaster, '68 Electric XII, '69 Custom (the wierd looking parts guitar), '72 Tele bass, '90 Rick 4001 Mapleglo a couple of non descript acoustics and an O'Hagan Shark. I don't think I would bother replacing this if it went missing. I love the fact that it's so wierd and so sixties. I wish it was white like Brian's Vox, but his was English so it really wouldn't compare anyway. Keep Rockin' everybody.
