This guitar was made between 69-71. It has 22 frets and semi-solid body.
Originally it had two Maxon pickups, but i changed them to something that has more power.Mine lp copy is black and has golden-like tuners and bridge. Also it has black pickguard.

It fits superb, unlike the strat i have too this one is much better.

Although this one needs few changes - tuners and new frets i think it should take a good care at a gig.

This guitar, according to 'The Vox Story' book, was made between '69 to '71 in Japan for the Vox company. It is a Les Paul copy. At present the manufacturer is unknown but thought to be the same workshop that produced the Orpheus guitars. 22 frets, rosewood fretboard. The body is slightly arched but is semi-solid. Originally 2 x PAF pickups with pressed metal rings, mine did not have the original pickups installed and I have now put in Dimarzio X2Ns. Also, although the guitar originally had Kluson-style tuners these were long ago replaced in mine with schaller-type tuners. Electronics are passive. The body is made of pine(or something similar)and the neck is laminated wood, with a truss rod. Finish was white with black pickguard but has now aged into a cream colour. The bridge is a Gotoh tune-o-matic style. The guitar was in pretty filthy condition when I got it but has cleaned up reasonably well. It has quite a few paint chips which show that the finish was rather thin.

This guitar is a blues guitar, nice to play lead on. The neck is shallow, but the action is very low and fast. The sound is very rich on the neck pickup, brighter on the bridge and nice and trebly without losing its punch on the mix setting.

Action is very good indeed. One of the best I have played. Considering this guitar has seen some pretty rough treatment it has stood up well for forty years. I had to replace the pickups because one didn't work and they weren't the original ones anyway. Frets are still in good condition with plenty of wear left in them and the fretboad is smooth. I had the pickup selecter switch replaced as it was broken. The guitar was in pretty filthy condition when I got it but has cleaned up reasonably well. It has quite a few paint chips which show that the finish was rather thin.

I would think this guitar would hold up to live work but I would take a backup. The finish is thin and if finances allow I will have re-finished one day.

N/a. No-one seems to know anything about this model so I guess customer support is way over the horizon!

I've been playing for over 25 years. I own two Matsumoku '80s voxes (Custom 24 and Standard 25), a Strat that I've made up from parts and and a Westone Spectrum II. If I had to pick, at the moment the VG2 sounds best out of all of them and I don't think an original Les Paul would sound better. I play my guitars through a Traynor YGL-3
