The finish is red with a neck-through (or set I'm not sure) body, v-neck, fixed bridge (some weird thing I couldn't find any info on). The body reminds me of a small explorer. The neck is super fast. 3 single-coil pickups, 2 tone, and 1 volume knobs. 22-frets. Oh and has a pick guard

Sound : 9
I play mostly thrash and death metal and after replacing the original single-coil pickup this thing rocks! Even still the sound is heavy and thick even with a single coil in it. The sustain is insane on this beast!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I got this thing used so I don't know how well it was setup in the factory but I love it. The neck is amazingly fast and even with the v-neck it is reasonably comfortable. For a guitar that is 24 years old it is still in great condition. There are a few scratches here and there but still amazing.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is solid. 24 years old and still holding strong. I've had no problems with the electronics so far and the finish is still looking good.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I don't know since I didn't buy it from Washburn originally...

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 4 years and I've got a 5150 and Avatar 4x12 cab and I love this guitar. The only things I wish it had were 1 or more humbuckers and a floyd rose bridge. Other than that this thing rules.

Made in 2005 in China. 22-fret Folk-style guitar (so no pickgaurd) with a unique shape. Top is solid-spruce, back and sides are laminated rosewood. Built in is a BBand A3.2 active acoustic preamp system which offers: bass, mid, treb, presence and volume. Tuners are quality Grover 18:1 ratio tuners. Finish is natural, Washburn offers two options, natural spruce and natrual tabaco sunburst.

Sound : 7
This is guitar is desgined to be plugged in, when it's plugged in it sounds great, unplugged it's suitable for small gatherings (maybe around a campfire) but it's chamber is too small to resonate much volume unplugged and it wasn't designed to be played that way and hold its own against and Dreadnaught or Concert acoustic guitar.

Plugged in it's not too noisy, the BBand active preamp works quite well, you do have to tweak the EQ on the preamp to match whatever you're playing through as you can expect. This guitar sounds great going right into the board or through a acoustic guitar amp.

Overall I think it's a little thin sounding when played unplugged, but when you plug in this is easily corrected by adjusting the bass and treb on the preamp EQ.

Fit and finish, etc... was ok. Cosmetically this is a very simple guitar. The action and overall feel of the neck were the primary reason I bought this guitar, it has the feel of an instrument that should cost several hundred dollars more. The build quality could have been better, the preamp 1/4" input is provided on the strap button on the bottom of the body, after playing with the guitar a few times the strap button came loose and came out... I had to glue it back in! With a bit more care on the part of Washburn quality control this could have been avoided, but overall Washburn builds a quality product out of China, but using quality vendors for their parts, here the examples are BBand and Grover, having a high quality preamp and high quality tuners and the overall feel are why I'm going to go ahead and give this guitar an eight in this category in spite of the problems I had with it.

Reliability/Durability : 4
Since I had a problem with the stap button I'm going to rate it pretty low here, also I want to note that the bindings, bridge assembly, etc... have an assembly line look to them, but you get what you pay for and the good thing here is that the most attention has been put into the feel of the neck (fret's are nicely dressed, no buzz at all on the fingerboard). I rating it a four taking into account the tuners and the preamp are quality.

Washburn support is ok at best... they answer very specific questions and don't dig in further...

Other acoustics I've owned: Martin D28, Martin DX1. The big thing with this guitar is that if you buy it try to find a dealer who will give you the gig bag. Washburn actually sells this guitar with a quality hard shell/foam gig bag that's included in the price the music stores are paying. Since this big bag also fits other Washburn guitars, most of the vendors are simply resaling the gig bag outside the guitar purchase (they do they because acoustics in this price range don't typically come with a gig bag of this quality). Do a Froogle search and you'll find merchants selling this guitar with the gig bag as Washburn intended.

If something happend to this guitar, I'm not sure what I would do, I probably would look at other guitars like this one and give in to paying twice as much. The strap button ordeal was not something I was very happy about.

This is an original 1983 A-15v,this specific model doesnt show up too much mostly you'll see the a-10 and a-20 so maybe i have an collectors item here???
Anyway its an black guitar with a white binding, glued in neck and has 3 single coils. It has an tele-style like bridge only it has 2 points where it rotate's arround its better but not very good.A 5 way selector and 2 volume and 1 tone knob, but the only thing working is the volume the other 2 are kind of vague.

Sound : 10
I use it trough a Marshall MG 100 HDFX and it sounds great.I dont use effect only delay on solo's and thats it.I only use the bridge and neck pick-up and between them there is much variety the neck pick-up is awesome for blues kinda twangy real nice!! The bridge pick-up is great real heavy sounding thing!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action is very good nice frets and a very easy v-shaped neck.
The v-shape gets flatter at the head and it feels real natural to play on it!What kind of tuners it has i don't know it says George Washburn on it,maybe they are Grovers but hey they work fine.

Reliability/Durability : 10
The guitar is now 21 years old so that says it all!!

Customer Support : 1
I sent them a email and NEVER had an answer back so............

Overall Rating : 9
