I think my Washburn A-20(without a "K") was made in US maybe around 1981
Its black with black/gold bindings and has 22 frets. The body is made of mahogani and is chambered the neck is a 3-piece sandwich set-through.
It has ring inlays in a what looks like a teak fretboard. The volume pots are push-pulls to switch each humbucker to serial or parallel which I like a lot. Tuners and pickups are in original condition.
The pickups could be Dimarzios or Duncans.

I have used it to record direct over tube preamps, but also over two small combos. A Sessionette 75 Mark-II with 2x10" celestions and a
Marshall 15W 1x8" and some floor pedals. The guitar makes no unwanted noise whatever. Even on serial setting of the humbuckers its almost dead quiet. The sound is from very pronounced to very full and "broad".
The only thing it doesnt make is "twang".

I dont know how the gutar was setup or who did it. But I have never had a better setup on an axe. The neck plays so fast I was astonished. The finish seems excellent too. This guitar is inspite of its "weird" look a very good fitting instrument. The tuners could be of better quality.

I havent used it "live" yet but after all playing I think it would easily stand a gig. Everything looks mechanically very solid even the guitar has a somehow "fragile" impression to me.

I've sent them an email asking about the date of manufacture of my instrument. No answer so far. I must give them a 5 here.

I have been playing for 30 years. At the moment I own also a Fender Squier Strat, another Washburn HB-35, a Ibanez MC-150 and a acoustic Yamaha FG-365S. This guitar fits perfect in the circle. If I have to sell it (which I might have to do) I would be dissapointed.
Its a great instrument.

My guitar is a cream guitar (once white in 1984 but has aged to a nice cream) it has triple binding around the body and headstock, bound fretboard too. the body design is cool kind of resembles an explorer in ways and the ibanez iceman in others. push pull pots, tremolo, locking nut and 3 way selector switch and twin washburn humbuckers still stock.

this guitar is my baby the people at washburn said it is one of their most requested models and there have been several reproductions but that mine is an original mabey a custom model so i rarely take it out of the case away from home. strap locks were installed very dependable guitar and i would use it onstage with no worry about having a backup

if anything ever happened to this guitar i would go crazy first and probably replace it with the exact thing if i could find it. Just wish it had some higher output pickups stock
