I am guessing that this guitar was made in or around 2001/02...that is when I bought it. It has a solid spruce top and laminate mohogany back and sides. I think the body is a smaller kind of dreadnaught, very comfortable to play. No electronics on it. It has a glossy finish. There is a fancy rosette design and a backstripe. It has gold tuners and Washburn engraved in the headstock. The neck is a bit wide for my tastes, but nothing wrong with that at all. A very very good value at $150.

The sound isn't bad by any means. I play primarily acoustic and this guitar was a very nice backup, and I even used it to play live a couple times. My friend is currently using this guitar for our acoustic playing and it sounds phenominal. It has a very even sound to it, bright at times when needed. Very good sound.

I thought this guitar was very well set up. I took it out of the box, tuned it, and played. No problems. The action is pretty low for such a cheap guitar, no problems with it. I never saw any kind of blemishes on mine when I got it. It's a nice guitar.

I've played for people with this guitar on a few occasions. My friend who has it now has played open mics twice with it...one time in the middle of a song he broke his G string, other than that, no problems. The hardware is fine, works nicely. I haven't played the guitar enough to know how it will respond to hardcore playing, but from what I've seen, it is a solid, well built instrument. It only has one strap button on it, but I haven't gotten the chance to get a second one put on.

I've been playing acoustic for 2 years. This is a decent instrument for players of any kind. My friend who has it now has been playing seriously with bands off and on since he was 14 (he's 32), and seems to really like this guitar. For $150 you definatly can't find a better deal that I can think of. If it got lost or stolen, I probably wouldn't replace it however, simply because I've only had it for maybe 3 months since I bought it back in January of 2002. But I used that guitar for travelling to Virginia Beach and back and it worked out well. Another strap button and some electronics would have completed the package...but no complaints.

Made in china circa 2001 has 20 frets solid spruce top. It's not an acoustic/Electric. The body is mohogany and the neck is nato with rosewood fingerboard and dot inlay. The body style is drednaught slightly smaller than a standard dread. It has a clear finish, probably poly. Has your standard type bridge and nut for an acoustic of this class. It has gold schaller tuners. The washburn logo is inlaid into the headstock, usually done on more expensive guitars. The neck style is thin which gives improved playability up the neck for lead playing. The Neck/scale is 24 1/2 (I measured it). No accessories with this one. I'm resubmitting this review after going to a local music store and finding out what you can get for $150, Nothing!!

I play classic rock, zeppelin, bad company, pink floyd. I don't play out but I record at home and have a website at http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/leatherman I have not recorded with it yet but I can't wait to. It has a brighter sound and less bass than my fender dg20s has. The guitar is an acoustic but I can get different sounds depending how it's miked, check my website later on and I should have some songs recorded with this. After playing other guitars at my local music store, this one appears to be superior to guitars they have listed at over $500. I guess you don't know what you really have until you take a look around.

The guitar is set-up with low action which seemed to be too low yesterday but ok today. Probably the humidity effected it for a day or so. There is one spot on the top where the woodgrain rides higher than the binding. The bridge and nut are set properly for great tone and sustain. This guitar does have numerous flaws in the workmanship, that's my biggest beef about it. But what do you want for $150 !!! The bindings have burrs in various places around the top and back bindings and there is a huge crack in the finish on the side toward the strap peg wich extends to the binding. The top's finish looked a little rough also, it probably could have used some more filler before putting the finish on. "Outside of that she's cherry..."

I don't play live so don't know if it could withstand it. The tuners feel smooth and the top has a nice pick guard which should help improve the life of the finish on the top. I don't know if the lack of filler on the top will effect the finishes life, time will tell. The strap button appears to be solid but I don't use it. I wanted a spare acoustic guitar in case somebody wants to jam and don't have theirs. I would use it in the studio without a backup if it were used only periodically. If it had to be played as the main guitar, I would have a backup.

I have been talking on and off with musicians friend and their support seems to vary depending who answers the phone. Some of their folks couldn't even find my order when I called. It has a lifetime warrenty but I just bought it so don't know if that will come into play.

I own 5 other guitars 3 are fender and one peavey. I should have asked if this was a blem guitar when I ordered it, because I believe it was but was not told that. If it were stolen and I could get another one for $150 I would get it. I love the sound of it, I hate the flaws. My favorite features are the thin neck, gold tuners and MOP logo inlay. I compared this to guitars that I currently own and guitars at H&H music in San Antonio TX. I bought this one because of the price. It lists for $399 and got it for $149 an awesome price. I wish that it were minus all the flaws but with the luck I have maybe I better keep it. I apologize for my other review knocking this guitar. I actually believe that it is superior to guitars I played costing four times as much!

Dreadnought-body style, 21 frets, solid spruce top, gloss finish, gold Schaller tuners, and a herringbone rosette. No controls, pickups, etc. The sides are laminated mahogany. The neck is fairly thin which allows for easier play up the neck. This particualar one wasn't put together very well. I hate to spoil the party but this guitar is going to end up going back...

I play classic rock, and it seems to play ok for that if you can look past the shoddy workmanship. This guitar must have been built on friday afternoon at 4:45 or something because there are so many things messed up on it. It does have a bright sound but most guitars do when they have new strings on them. I did like the sound of the guitar for playing basic choards and striaght licks. But when I tried to bend slide and do other advanced moves it was more difficult. Compared to my fender dg20s it don't even come close to it. Sorry but the fender guitar is better.

This is where it really fell short, if you feel around the binding there are burrs almost around the entire body, and the binding doesn't fit well with the top, allowing the grain of the wood to ride higher than the binding again making it appear to have burrs. The bridge and nut seem to be solid, I was getting some buzzing out of the box without adjusting the guitar. The top of the guitar don't appear to be finished, or even sanded. The grain of the wood is very rough and the finish riding on it doesn't look good. There was also a crack running from the binding on the side of the guitar where the strap peg is. I don't believe that this happened during shipping.

This don't appear to be a stage quality guitar. The hardware is solid as well as the bridge and nut, but the fit, finish and binding leaves a lot to be desired. The strap button is ok, I don't believe that it would be a guitar that could be depended on. I wouldn't use this as a primary guitar for playing gigs period. You buy a takamine or ovation or at least a fender for that.

Customer support this time around has been terrible, first the guitar was back ordered and I had to call several times to see if it had shipped, then when I got the guitar and found the defects, they haven't let me ship it back to them yet! It's been over a day and they didn't e-mail my sticker to me yet. It has a lifetime warrenty but as the late cris farley said in Tommy Boy. "Maybe it's a gauranteed piece of Sh*t.

I have been playing since I was 16 and am now 43 so in dog years thats about 4, Don't buy this guitar unless you play it first and you check it out thouroughly because you will be getting far less than you bargained for. If this guitar were lost, I wouldn't lose sleep over it, I did like the sound but the workmanship just sucked. I did compare it to martin, fender, squire and even rogue, and thought that it would be a steal at $149 but as the old addage goes you get what you pay for. It really applies to guitars. It's a bummer that I can't get my money back, only store credit or exchange. I felt like had been taken for a ride. All I can say is buy a real guitar a fender!

This a post to correct a mistake I made in my review of the Washburn AG-24S acoustic guitar. The Washburn model D-10S was mistakenly called an S-10 several times in the review so I stand corrected on that. Both have similar mahogany body, spruce top combinations as I commented on in my review.

Dreadnought-body style, 21 frets, solid top, gloss finish, gold Schaller tuners, and a herringbone rosette. No controls, pickups, etc. I believe the top is spruce, and the sides laminated mahogany. Ultra thin, almost electric-style neck, which I absolutely love. No accessories.

I am a beginner, playing less than a year. I wanted to replace my laminate top Samick Silvertone with a solid top. I play mostly old Eagles tunes, kids songs, and praise and worship choruses. Very bright sound, and projects and sustains well for a starter instrument, compared to my Silvertone.

Action was a little high out of the box, but nothing a good set-up won't fix. Gold Schaller tuners are beautiful and very smooth. The finish is a clean, bright gloss. The wood grain is not flawless by any means, but the bright red stain on the back, neck, headstock and sides is beautiful. For $150.00, you won't do any better.

I've had the guitar less than 24 hours, so I really cannot comment on this area yet. However, the guitar appears solid, and comes with Wasburn's lifetime warranty against maunfacturing defects. C'mon, what more could you ask for $150.00? I play to entertain myself and my family, so for my "gigs" it's perfect.

So far I have had no contact with Washburn. I emailed a question earlier this week, and have yet to receive a response. But I was able to register my guitar online for the lifetime warranty.

As I stated earlier, I am a novice. However, I searched the web (and this site) for info before buying this guitar, and played MANY Seagulls before finally settling on the AG24S. For my money, the AG24S is as good a value as the S6,and $80.00 less than the best deal I could find on the 'Gull (Murch Music in Canada, btw). If you prefer the bright, clear sound of spruce to the warm sound of cedar, there is no comparison. The Spruce version of the Seagull will easily cost another $100.00+. This guitar is perfect for what it is, an affordable entry level solid top dreadnought, and perfect for me. Not a Martin, Taylor, Larrivee (insert expensive name-brand manufacturer here), but all things considered, a tremendous value. And a lifetime warranty to boot.

This is a review of my new Wasburn acoustic guitar. This model is only available through musiciansfriend.com and it was a one day special with a 400 dollar retail price being sold for 150 dollars. It's a standard dreadnaught guitar with a solid top that is spruce giving it a bright sound that I prefer over cedar top acoustics. I think the body is Mahogany like the popular S-10. The guitar is made in China but it's still high quality and you save a bundle having it made overseas. The body is laminated and very beautiful I find no flaws on this guitar.

I'm no expert on acoustics but I knew Washburn is a name you can trust and I needed that as it was bought online and I had little if any knowledge about the guitar. I was interested in a seagull or Wasburn acoustic but went with the Washburn because it was half the price of the seagull. They both sound similar both having spruce tops, nice tones and very good resonating qualities

The binding along the frets looks so cool and beautiful it reminds me of the binding on my expensive SG reissue. The neck is thin and not chunky at all. The guitars action is set to high meaning if your into barre cords you better get the strings lowered. The seagull is the better bet for barre cord playing. Also I did not like the plastic nut on the neck of the washburn but for 150 dollars I paid I can't complain.

This guitar? a lifetime warranty and I only paid 150 bucks? I can't believe it. You could record and gig with it but it would take a little work with the set up and all. It would take years for the solid top to break in giving it a better tonal response.

only heard good stuff about washburn, thumbs up. Seagull gives no lifetime warranty on their guitars.

My first acoustic guitar was an Alvarez it was real pretty but it sucked to be honest no wonder I sold it for 20 bucks after a few years this guitar is much nicer. This is a 400 dollar guitar and it looks like a 400 dollar guitar but like I said I only paid 150 out the door. It is probably VERY similar to the S-10 but this guitar has gold tuners. I'm sure if you played this alongside the Wasburn S-10 they would sound the same but this guitar was 60 dollars less than the S-10. I noticed some flaws in the workmanship of the seagull guitars I played at the music store so maybe its better to play those before you buy them. The laminated body makes the guitar more attractive than the seagull and its got a better pickguard along with the cool binding on the neck so this guitar is the clear winner for me. If the string action was lower and it had a bone nut I would give it a 10 but it's an honest 9 I think.
