Floyd Rose licenced
Clear Scarlet laquer finish
Good pickups
Grover machine heads

I owned a BT2 and after a few years of being bashed about I retired it and bought a BT6. The sound on the BT2 was pretty terrible, due to the poor pickups, but this has a better sound, but not really as meaty as my other ESP. I can't get a similar palm mute crunch to it, but it's a vast improvement over the BT2. I put an Invader in the neck, and noticed it was slightly lacking, so I suppose the pickups are about as good as Seymour Duncan's over-rated Invader pickup.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
I bought this second hand so I can't quote on factory, although it buzzes over the neck - it is not set up correctly, but I can feel it's a quality guitar. The action is low and it's very comfortable to play - again, a massive improvement over the BT2. The red scarlet finish looks top notch, I cannot fault the finish - very subtle but very beautiful, one of my favourite colours. I can't fault the overall playability, and this guitar is so perfectly balanced and the correct weight, which is the reason I stuck with the BT range, it also has a very, very nice cut body, I love the shape.
Reliability/Durability
:8
My previous BT2 sort of lasted 3 - 4 years of guitar case less travel and being thrown about on stage. I presume it's built like a tank, but I should expect the neck to dislocate, like on the BT2 if subjected to abuse, but just like most bolt on necks. It feels stocky and solid, and I would rely on this totally.

I love these guitars, and would hop up to a better model. I currently own the BT6 and had the BT2 (now retired), I love the shape; it was released before the Wolfgang, although the shapes are very similar.
I use the Floyd Rose WITHOUT the locking nuts (due to me losing them :) ) and it stays in tune even with dive bombs.
I couldn't advise this to everyone, but it suits me 100%, I have found the perfect guitar that I would use and buy again and again, and if I got famous (hahah), I would have a signiture in this range - not that that is going to happen, but you know what I mean. :D ;)

This was my first guitar, bought from a guitar-center-esque place that steered me away from the squier packages, saying the neck was thinner, and probably easier to play with for a beginner, and also would stay in tune because of the standard floyd rose setup. I never really ended up using the fine-tuning screws, plus it made drop-D tunings slightly awkward. Playing on a standard strat, I wouldn't say there was a huge amount of difference in the width of the neck. I'm not sure these features are particularly great for a beginner.
Sound
:6
I'm not sure if it's because of the thin strings (which I haven't changed since I've gotten it), but the non-distorted sound is rather thin (particularly the high E). It might be because of my crate amp, but the different pickups and tone settings don't have a really dramatic contrast between them. It sounds OK with distortion, but there isn't a lot of sustain on the high strings (another string problem?) I've since played guitars that sound worse distorted, but the clean sound remains rather wimpy in comparison.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:5
The action is really high compared to most strats I see. I suspect that the guitar wizards who sold it to me cranked it up to avoid any buzzing, and I haven't bothered to figure out if there's a way to lower it.
Reliability/Durability

It seems durable enough. I haven't abused it or anything, but haven't maintained it much either.

The other reviews seem really positive, so I'm guessing I got one with a combination of attributes that just don't do it for me as a beginner, and I suspect I would have been happier with a cheapo squier package. I'm not sure if I understand the logic of buying a feature-loaded instrument the first time around -- I mean it plays well enough, but it's not something I ever really grew into. Given the information from the other reviews, though, It looks like most of my guitar's defects are fixable.

Bought this in '98 though I think it was introduced in '97. It has H/S/H configuration with 1 vol, 1 tone & 5-way switch. Mahogany body & maple neck. Also, Floyd Rose trem & Grover tuners.
Sound
:8
Pretty versitile guitar. With humbuckers and a single you can go from clean to raunch without much trouble. It can play country just as easily as hard rock. The trem is fun to play with & stays tuned fairly well but getting intonation set is a bit tricky. For a $250 guitar I think it sounds pretty good.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:7
When I first got it I noticed that the volume wouldn't drop off when I rolled it back. Upon closer inspection I found the two wires on the volume pot were actually soldered together! After I repaired that little mishap it worked just fine. The finish on the guitar is one of the reasons I bought it in the first place. From a distance it looks just like a quilted top. In fact I thought it WAS a quilt top when I first saw it. I get alot of compliments about how pretty it is. The intonation & action was way out of whack from the factory. Nothin' that a setup didn't fix. Minus a few points for the volume problem but plus a few for the cool-looking finish.
Reliability/Durability
:9
The guitar has held up really good over the few years I've had it but I tend to baby my gear. Anything wont last if you beat the crap out of it no matter what it costs. Strap buttons have never came off even though it is a somewhat heavy guitar. Volume & tone pots are smooth and are still static-free. However, the 5-way always seemed a little stiff to me & that makes it hard to switch pickups in the middle of a song. I replaced it with a Strat 5-way (much smoother).

This is the guitar I used for practicing & with friends before I was able to work my way up to the Strat & Les Paul I have now. It sat in the closet for a while after I got the Fender & Gibson because obviously they are superior in quality and sound (plus they're USA made). I thought about selling it but I like the looks of it so much I decided to customize it instead. So I replaced the humbuckers with a set of Gibson 490's (from the Les Paul-which in turn got a set of Duncan '59s), and a custom 24 3/4 scale neck from Warmoth. It took it up a notch or two in tone and playability. Overall, it's a great guitar to get some experience on and after you've learned a thing or two it's fun to modify & turn into an awesome playing & sounding guitar.

Made in Indonesia, 22 frets, Mahogany body, stock H/S/H pickups, passive, 5 way switch, Floyd Rose licensed NON-LOCKING tremolo system, Grover tuners, Galactic Blue finish, master volume and master tone knobs, Washburn signature raised dot inlays, 3 on a side headstock.
Sound
:8
The H/S/H configuration is superb, offering a wide range of tonal variety. Stock pickups are surprisingly hot and tasty, and the not-so-light Mahogany body has a warm, resonance to it. The custom NON-LOCKING Floyd Rose trem is all I hoped- standard trem simplicity combined with Floyd Rose divebombing. Very thick and rich, full sounds are easily summoned from this guitar, and with a little tweaking, brightness as well. Going through a RP-300, SM7 and EQ into a Peavey 60 watt, this guitar fits my metal needs as well as my reflective, non-distorted times. Great for the price.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:7
Set-up wasn't par, but that's just not a big deal. People- take your guitar in and get it set-up. It's common sense. My bridge is a charm, and although my pickup wiring seems less than par, again, taking equipment in is not a big deal. I'm also thinking of hot-rodding the pickups with a Duncan, a Hot Rails, and an EMG, respectively. If I do, I'll add info. The action is tight and nice, closer than my Strat, which I like, it's great for solos AND crunchy metal rhythm work. The Galactic Blue finish is pretty but not tacky.
Reliability/Durability
:8
This guitar is durable. It's survived so far, and I haven't needed to use my backup yet. The strap buttons are better than say a Strat, the finish is like new.

I like this guitar, it's got a nice tone which I haven't matched yet, LP, SG, Strat or LTD. For the price I paid (less than half price), and the quality I recieved, it's a quirky but solid and distinct piece of work. I use it almost always, and if I needed another, I'd look for a sound similar to it, cuz it's just that nice.

Someone on this page said they think washburn is covering up. I think washburn are idiots. I think they have very good guitars, i even think the stock pickups a lot of times are better then new seymore duncans. And their floyd roses are perfect. Yet Washburn still fails to come though with provding washburn electrics and info on them. The music catalogs never have many if any at all of washburns, smae with the stores. I have an Mg-40 i needed a wiring diagram, i called washburn (i have them on speeddial) and they coudlnt give it to me, they didnt have one for that guitar (or many others for that matter) they also dont ahve muchinfo on their guitars at their customer suport i found. I find it dissapointing. But then again maybe its meant for lucky people like us to find these great guitars and be the lucky limited users. I guess them not being able to help on wiring makes us do it ourselves, making us learn guitar wiring and become all the more smarter (at least for me that happened)

This guitar was made in Indonesia- I'm pretty sure that it was recently but I never got a warranty card or anything with it. It has 22 medium frets with a rosewood finger board and a maple neck and I believe either a spruce or alder solid-body. H/S/H configuration, passive pickups, five way selector. I am not exactly sure what brand of pickups it has but I've heard through the grapevine that they might be low-priced DiMarzio's. It also has a Floyd Rose licensed tremelo and locking nut. Plus nice Grover tuners. Its body shape is sort of a general but cool-looking double-cutaway and it has a nice see-through cherry finish. For the price I paid on it, it is generally a decked out guitar.

I was looking for a guitar that had a lot of versatility but mostly would give me a good twang sound. I looked at a few telecasters and some tele copies but was disappointed with the set-up and quality. Enter Washburn. From the moment I picked it up I was sure that it could give me the sound I wanted. Just looking at it made me think that it was going to be some high-end, squealy Jackson-copy but it is equally at home with Muddy Waters as it is with Randy Rhodes. The H/S/H config makes it conform to many sounds from bright to full. I play almost anything with an emphasis on classic hard rock (think Led Zeppelin). I had to readjust the pickups to make the sound even when switching- a downside is that you cannot move the single coil. I have used this through a Peavey half-stack, a Crate DX212, a Yamaha 100-watt, and little 15 watt Peavey. It sounds excellent on all of them. The Floyd Rose adds a nice little twist for divebombing and shredding. I use no effects save a Crybaby wah on occasion- it sounded satifactory with the wah.

I got this at Mars Music right before they did inventory so it was 400 dollars off. Needless to say most of the BT 6's on display there were pretty beat up. Ironically, the first one I tried was the best one and was the best set-up. I can find no major blemishes on it and all I had to do was wash the gunk of a hundred hands off of it. As mentioned before, the pickups needed to be realigned but the frets were great and the fingerboard was smooth. I get a little annoyed at the intonation problems with the tremelo and the readjusting using the fine tuners but it is the price you pay for that sort of thing. Hey, it was only 200 dollars

This is a pretty heavy guitar- it is no Les Paul but it can hold its own. It is very sturdy feeling and I although I haven't had it long enough to play live with it, it looks like it would work out. I would never play anywhere without a backup (but I think this actually would be my backup after my Les Paul) Everything on it is of reasonably good quality. Strap buttons- I'll replace them with locking ones, the finish looks like it will last- it isn't flaking. It is a durable guitar

Well, I haven't called them at all- though I do have questions about the Floyd Rose. The guy at Mars just gave me the guitar and a couple of allen wrenches and said get out, we're closing. I think it has some sort of limited warranty

I have been playing for a few years now- I actually play mostly acoustic. I own nine other guitars- an Epiphone Les Paul, a Danelectro 12-string, an Airline lap steel, a Martin D18, a Tackamine/Jasmine C34, a Kay acoustic, a Yamaha acoustic 12-string, a no-name classical guitar, and a Turkish saz. I usually use other people's amps when playing electric so I only use a practice amp at home- it suits fine for acoustic. This guitar makes a fine addition to my collection of guitars, it is versatile, easy to work with (except that damn tremelo sometimes), and it looks nice to boot. I would have liked the manual. If it were lost or stolen I would probably save up my money and get a Peavey EVH. Overall, it was 200 dollars maked down from 600 so I got a great deal and a great guitar- hell it gets a ten no matter its minor flaws!

Well, as I said it's a pretty heavy guitar, so don't drop this guitar for fun.
I once accidently dropped mine on the hard floor, and one of the grover tuner broke!!
I had to search all over the NYC to get just one used grover tuner, they don't just sell one for new, but the whole set which costs $50 -60. Thank God I was able to find one grover used.
So, metal players, be careful! and I suggest you get one of the good straps that locks on your guitar.
One other thing was that I had to change the 5 way selecter which wasn't very good, (I heard no sound when postioned on the single coil) So I had to have the tech install a new one.

It will stay with me for a long time, till I get a Gibson.

I play in a coverband. So we play all different styles. I like the span og the guitar. Mossy, Sharp and all the inbetweens. Maybe my effectprocessor f***s the sound up. But i love what I hear :)

Hmmm... I really hate Floyd Rose (licensed) from now on... I bought the guitar, got home, only to realise that after I tuned it I had to tune again. And so on.. The problem was the "feathers" (called so in Sweden... dont know the english word for it) that "holds the tuning" was to weak. But I solved it by putting yet another "feather" there. So instead of the two, from the beginning there are now three :)
The finish... Man... the finish. Mmmmm. When I brought the guitar to a musicstor one dude checked it out. He told me to stay put while he went to get the other guys. They had never seen anything like it before! It's black, and on the black surface it's some "gold dust". You know. Like the thing girls put on the hair in the 80's :) Lookes really great on stage.

This is a 2000 model. Made in Korea I think. It says Maverick Series on the headstock, but Mars Music (where I bought the guitar) calls it a Billy T 6. As for features it has 22 frets, one tone and one volume control, an H-S-H pickup configuration, all pickups are passive (don't know what model but they are washburn pickups). The neck is maple, fingerboard Rosewood, and body is Mahogany. The finish is Galactic Blue. The finish has to be one of the best selling points of this guitar everyone comments on how great it looks. It is dark blue but appears to be black, purple, or blue depending on the angle you look at it; with sparkles that look like stars. The body is a Peavy wolfgang look alike only larger I realy like the way it looks. It has a licensed Floyd Rose locking tremelo. Chrome Grover tuners with locking nut. The neck feels great its thin and wide which perfectly fits my short thick fingers. The fretwire is pretty small mabye medium or smaller. All tools for adjustments were included. Put this together with a price of only $239.99 and you have an excellent buy. List price is $599.99 it was on sell at Mars Music for $239.99.

I like rock and blues and this guitar can easily handle both styles. The neck pickup works great for blues, the single coil has a nice clean sound for soloing and the bridge pickup is good for rock. I have a fender bullet 8" 15 watt amp with a soundtank classic rock distortion pedal. Obviously I need a better amp. My only problem is that the single coil pickup cannot be adjusted because it is mounted directly to the body unfortunatly this pickup could be louder if the hieght could only be raised. On the other hand the two humbuckers sound great.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:6
The setup is my only problem with the guitar. The action was way to low I could not play the low E or A strings without a huge amount of buzzing, and the bridge was not even the end with the fine adjustment screws sat down inside the cavity. I had to loosen the tremelo springs and raise the action slightly. Obviously I had to adjust the pickup height after making the other adjustments. Everything else was fine.

As far as reliability I think this guitar could handle most anything. I haven't had it very long but I don't see any problems and I have played it quite a bit. Strap buttons are very solid.

I have only been playing for 6 months but my friend who has been playing for more than 10 years went with me when I bought said he realy liked it. My other guitar is a Series 10 piece of s***. The difference between the two is amazing. If it was stolen I would deffinatly buy another one. I considered buying either an Ibanez RG (I borrowed a RG470 from a friend for a month and realy liked it) or a Jackson Dinky. But when I played on the Washburn I knew it was what I wanted. The neck realy feels great. Plus it had the same or better features and it was way cheaper.
