OK--here's where I'm coming from: I am a Gibson guy. I have about a dozen LP's, my main guitar being a Custom Shop Class V, my backup is a LP Supreme, and my baby is a '79 Deluxe that my wife has been instructed to bury me with. I play guitars that cost some $$$ (and don't talk to me about PRS - that stuff is crap).

I bought this Washburn because my band has started to play some '80's covers that require a whammy. Not being my usual 'cup of tea', I figured I picked this up cheap and use it when I have too (think Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, etc.). Wow, was I surprised! This bad boy kicks A$$! The neck is awesome, and (believe it or not) the stock Washburn pickups are not bad at all. I just got done playing it at a gig for the first time, and I was really impressed. My babies might stay at home next time and I'll just take this. If it gets stolen/destroyed/spilled on...who cares? But it really performed~

If your looking for a logo on the headstock and have the cash, a Gibby CS is the way to go...if you are looking for something to take to the bad side of town to play and still want to sound like a million $, this is not a bad option. I can't give it a 10, but it's most certainly a 9.

This action is amazing. I can play really fast on this baby. The fit & finish is spectacular with absolutely no flaws.

Nice quiet controls and stays in tune perfectly. The 3-way switch is a bit scratchy but I will take it apart & clean the contacts. I definitely trust this guitar as my Main axe.

I am a Bass player for The Mt Airy band Quake and just play guitar for fun but this is my 20th guitar and the best so far.

I play rock (van halen rock to ACDC rock). Six years ago this guitar is really a gem. This was the closest thing to a EVH ernieball Music Man. It has a nice small body shape, A flyod Rose style trem. This guitar used to be my main axe until after a year when i bought a S series Ibanez. I never played with the bT10 again. I dont want to sell it. I was supposed to be my backup guitar. But the S series is really a workhorse and I never got to play wih this Bt10 until today after 5 years. It just stood there in my closet accumulating dust when i picked it up again.

After calling in my friends to check on this guitar, it didnt sound too hot anymore compared to other guitars I bought a few years back (like a Malmsteen Fender and a SRV) Maybe I should change Pickups. This made me think.. I should have bought the ErnieBall EVH.

The Action in fine. Compared it to how Ibanez makes necks his wont even compete. I like playing fast necks, wide and thin. I dont dig fat necks.

I really didnt use this much but it still seemed okay, just a bit of rod adjustments.

Really bad. When I bought this guitar I had problems with the neck and Yupangco (our local distributor) said the neck is not part of the warranty. So I emailed Washburn about the problem and they said to just return it back and they will call in the distibutor for replacement. So I went back and the clerk said that They'll call me if new stocks arrived and washburn discontinued the Bt10 and im stuck with paying for repairs for the necl

I will never-ever buy a washburn again.

This is a very basic guitar but I only paid for a basic guitar so that is fine. It has two sets of pickups, 22 frets, one volume control knob, one tone control knob, and pickup switch from front to both to rear.

At first the guitar sounded great but there are some issues with quality that make the guitar sound worse with age. There is a lot of hum produced by the guitar. I have an Ibanez that I use on the same amp with no hum at all. Also, the sound is not as bright as I would like. I would like the tone knob to control the tone from bright to dull. Instead its like dull to really dull. Don't get me wrong, the sound is ok but just not as bright as I would like and there is too much noise.

The action for this guitar is pretty good. I haven't had to adjust it much at all. Washburn does a nice job of making a beautiful guitar.

When I received the guitar, the pickup switch was not working. I had to re-solder the contacts before I could even play my brand new guitar. This could have happened during shipping. Now my volume knob has come loose inside and it wobbles around and the whole base of the control tries to turn with you when you turn the volume up and down. I tried to fix this issue but have been unsuccessful so for. As previously mentioned the guitar is noisy. In fact, if you hold it just right in the evening, you can pick up radio stations, wireless phone calls, etc. Pretty cool I guess if you are McGyver and are needing to communicate with someone but that isn't what I had intended to use the guitar for. The finish is good. The strap buttons are solid. I have used the guitar for about 3 years and have had no problems other than those listed here. I guess for $149.00 its hard to complain too much.

Haven't dealt with either the reseller or Washburn for support issues.

I have been playing for about 3 years. This was my first guitar and it has really been just fine. However, I feel that I am ready to graduate to another guitar now. I really think the guitar is quite pretty. I like the action and the price of course is quite nice. However, if the guitar was lost or stolen, I probably wouldn't buy it again. I would still consider a Washburn though, but perhaps in a higher price range. Overall, this is a good guitar for a beginner. You can use an inexpensive guitar with good sound to learn and decide whether or not you want to get into guitar playing.

Washburn BT-10 "Jennifer Batten" with two humbuckers, Floyd Rose tremolo, nut locks, chrome hardware, rosewood pickguard, 3-way pickup selector, 1 volume and 1 tone control.
Color is a wonderful transparent royal blue top with cream white bindings. This is the gorgeously best looking guitar I have ever seen! Well, it was designed by a lady guitarist and you can tell! Looks swell elegant on every stage!
Since the bridge is a bit towards the end (at least compared to my Les Paul), the whole guitar is quite compact (although a full scale, the length is about 8cm shorter than a Les Paul), for good equilibrium on your shoulders and easy reach of the neck. Feels good for smaller guitarist, too.

The original Washburn passive humbuckers are very hot (though quiet). I changed almost every stock pickup ever found on my guitars, but I would never change these even in a thousand years. They suit this guitar just too well.
With all the volume to 10 they are really great for heavy riffing. For songs like "Children of the Revolution" one of these is better than my Les Paul run with both humbuckers in series.
But this guitar can do much more. Roll down the volume to 5 and you'll get a wonderful soft pop bubblegum sound. Sorry for the guy who got his without a volume control, but my volume knob is the most useful feature on this guitar. I never opened the back routing, but I noticed that it has probably some kind of treble bleed capacitor, because it doesn't lose high end when you roll down the volume. Great tones from 2 to 10.

Finish is absolutely gorgeous, like a 2000$ guitar. Neck is straight with no buzz. Thanks to nut locks guitar stays in tune for months.

This guitar looks very solid and asks for nothing else than a stage to show off its beauty and sound. Strap buttons are Schaller security locks. The Floyd Rose and the nut locks work very well and the guitar stays in tune for months, even after the wildest dive bombs (no lie)! Until today I never broke a string, but I would never use this guitar without a backup, due to the Floyd Rose. If you have to change strings it can become really complicated.

I've been playing for 25 years, mostly over a Fender Champ 12. This guitar was the best bargain I ever had. I've had already offered twice the price I paid, but I can't let it go.
I bought it because it for its timeless elegance. It took me some time to explore and appreciate all the great sound possibilities. I like switching around and this has only a three-way-selector switch.
So the only way to better this guitar would be a push/pull switch for coil tap and/or out-of-phase. But I got other guitars for that.

I don't know when this one was made. It was made in korea. 22 frets. HH pickup configuration. Washburn pickups. 1 tone, 1 volume knob. I think the body is maple. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard. The finish is trasnparent. The body stlyle is cutaway. It has a floyd rose bridge. It has non locking grover tuners on the head. It has a pretty thin neck.

I love the sound of this guitar. It totally suits my style. my style is anything i can play. Ozzy Osbourne, black sabbath, metallica. Mostly metal. I am using a 100 watt beckemer amp, along with a sm7 ibanez smash box distortion, a classic metal sound tank, and a dunlop crybaby gcb95. It's not to noisy. you can manage to controll the feedback pretty well. It has a very bright sound. It can make any sound you want it to. especially with the floyd rose installed, That's the main reason i bought this guitar. I love the sound of this guitar

I have no clue how this one was set up in the factory. I got this one used.All the flaws must have been ironed out by the time i got it. i have no problem with it

Well, i don't think the floyd rose will last forever. If it ever gives out i'll probably replace it with an authentic floyd rose instead of a lisenced one like what's on there now. The finish will last quite a while. One of the strap buttons is already fallen off mine, but it doesen't come out on it's own, so it's not a problem. I would probably have to backup it in a gig because of the floyd. If a string breaks your fucked over

I've been playin for 2 years now. I own a samick, and it's a piece of shit. This one kicks it's ass. If it were stolen or lost i would probably get someting else because for one, i wouldn't be able to get another one and it only has 22 frets, i would rather have 24. I love everything about this guitar, especially the floys rose. I wish it had 24 frets and was a little bigger, because i'm a big guy, and i would like a bigger guitar.

This guitar was ordered for me in May of 2000 so it was built in 2000. It was built in Korea.
The fretboard has 22 frets.
Controls that are concluded are a volume and tone knob, and a 3-way selector.
The pickup configuration is H/H.
The pickups are either Washburn Stuff or Eliminator, I'm really not sure.
The wood of the body is mahogony, the neck is maple, and the fretboard is rosewood. It is a transparent finish.
The body style is a cutaway, looking like a wolfgang, but with the top cutaway deeper.
A floating Floyd Rose tremolo system is installed with a locknut at the very top of the neck, under the headstock.
Non-locking Grover tuning pegs ar installed in the headstock.
The neck is thin for more comfertable playing and fingering.
A life-time warranty is included with a send-away for the Washburn guitar club. One year of free tune-ups is also included.

I play mostly hard rock lead soloing type music like Van Halen, Steve Vai...etc, and this guitar suits this style perfectly. It isn't that heavy either, so it' easy to move around on stage with it.

Right now I use a 40 watt Marshall G10 MK.II practice amp with a Dunlop Crybaby wah-wah pedal and a Ibanez swell flanger. I'm currently building up my collection of effect pedals, but so far all of the ones I've tried this guitar on sound pretty good.
This guitar is noisy with Boost on and Gain and Contour on 10. But these settings also give good harmonics. with this setting, the guitar is a screamer!
To get a rich/full sound, for example, the "Brown Sound", put Boost on, have Gain on 9-10, and Contour on 5-6. This sound is very filling and thick. An excellent sound for rock or soloing. The brightest sound you can get, with the Marshall G10 MK.II, is both gain and contour on 10. A very, very bright sound that is mostly used by thrash guitarist, but if played in a different style like rock, or rock soloing, this will turn heads. Gives out good harmonics and effects.
I'm a very effect playing kind of guitarist, which means while I play I like to throw in some dive-bombs and any weird shit I can think of, most likely improvising, so I can get the guitar to make animal noises like an elephant, a horse, mice, birds and dolphins. I can make it sound like a computer, have it sound like a falling bomb, a car or a plane. I can even have it say a variety of words and sentences using the wah-wah pedal.
Hands down, this is one of the best sounding instuments I've heard and played. It's very versitile sound-wise. I can basically do whatever I want with the sound of this instrument. No dislikes what so ever.

The action was set-up fine as far as I can see.
The pickups were adjusted perfectly, no problem with them.
Everything was aligned perfectly, the bridge is well routed, and everything is in place.
The guitar was set-up well in the factory, but I notice the smallest things. The binding around the body of the guitar is slightly off, because I can see where the finish starts. The volume knob tilts slightly when it is turned, a very odd sight. Other than that, the guitar was set-up fine.

This guitar is DEFINATELY a live playing guitar. Mostly because it craves to be seen being played.
I determine the hardware will last quite a while. Nothing wrong with it from the first day I got it until now.
Finish could never be better, this guitar is told to be a flame top, but mine seems to be a quilt top, so the finish is great on it. The finish will definetely won't wear off for 10 years.
Strap buttons are secure.
I can depend on this guitar for the sound and the look. This guitar can make an ugly man look beautiful.
I don't think I would use this guitar as a designated rig because when the strings break, the floating bridge causes it to throw itself out of tune badly.

The guitar is entitled to 1 or 2 years of free tune-ups or repairs. The warrenty is lifetime.

I've been playing for almost 8 years, and this guitar is ultimately one of my favourite guitars. I also own a Les Paul Studio 100.
I'd lock this guitar up in the safest safe you can if you aren't playin it. If it was stolen or lost, I will not sleep until I find it. But...*sigh*...if I had to, I'd buy a Peavey Wolfgang, even though it is more expensive.

I love the sound and the beauty of this guitar, my favourite feature is the Floyd Rose, I can't have a guitar without one :)

I wish it would have had an EVH D-tuna, birdseye maple neck, and a shallower cut away on the top of the body.

This case is a Korean-made solid body guitar, with 22 frets. The scale is small, more like a Gibson, not Fender. The outer look remainds me from EVH Wolfgang. BT-10 is available with two colors; transparent red and blue. It has a flame maple top, and the body is mahogany. Machine heads are Grover 3+3, works well. Tremolo system is licensed Floyd Rose system. Pickup configuration is H+H, pickups are Washburn stuff. Controls are one volume, one tone and 3-way selector switch.

I play mainly heavy stuff, and this guitar suites for me really good.
I'm using Rocktron VooDu Valve On-Line preamp with Fender Princeton Chorus(through FX-loop), but I'm going to buy some kind of rack-mount power amp for Rocktron. Guitar is rich-sounding, with full harmonics.
You can't get Fender-style single coil clean sound, but guitar's clean sound is particularly good, you can live with it. It's at best when using distorted sounds.
It's ultimate lead guitar. The solo sound is perfect, and power chords are ultimate.
I'm going to change the bridge pickup in some point. I have thought EMG-81, and a DiMarzio Tone Zone.

The set-up was quite good when I bought it. Two months after purchasing I was forced to adjust neck and intonation, because I started to use Ernie Ball strings. Pickups were adjusted good.
Tremolo system has worked like a dream, there's nothing wrong.
Only pickup selector is scratching, but I use it seldom.

This is ultimate guitar from my opinion. It withstands live playing perfectly, there's nothing bad. Only fear at the gigs is, that "what if string goes broken". Machine Heads last forever, but I think that if you gonna play forever with this guitar, you have to change tremolo bridge at some point, it isn't "lasts forever"-stuff.
I have changed the strap buttons to locking ones(Schaller), it's better with those. I have thought about buying a BT-8 for a second guitar. Both guitars are fantastic, I love Washburn!

I have been playing now for over five years, and this is my second electric guitar. I love it, and everyone who is buying it...buy it!

This axe was made in Korea. This is a solid body guitar with has 22 frets.There are two knobs - volume and tone (they look excellent) and 3-way pickup switch. The setting of the switch may remind of Gibson guitars as well as pickups - 2 passive humbuckers made by Washburn - 623 (bridge) and 621 (neck). maghony body with maple top, maple neck and palisander fingerboard. It has a beautiful finish, something in the vein of PRS guitars - mine is dark red. However, the body style is different. Kind of like EVH guitars. BT-10 has a floyd rose licenced doulbe locking tremolo, 3x3 grover tuners.

I run my Washburn through Laney Tube Fusion TF-200 and play mostly heavy music - Metallica, Slayer and lots of Satriani. The guitar is quite good for these tunes. I get good distorted sound and rich sound.

I cant complain on the set-up although I had to set the action just a little bit lower to play really fast w/o any useless sound. Tremolo works ok. No matter how deep you depress it, you can make dive bombs, slacks and other stuff the lockijg nut will keep the guitar in tune.
There is one big drawback of this guitar that makes me feel sick. I mean the shape of the body - it is extremely hard to play something on 22nd fret in a correct way. I dont know why there is so little space there.

This a very reliable guitar. I use it live and so far I havent come across any troubles with getting out of tune. Ive been playing gigs for quite a long time and so far I havent got any backup - this is the guitar you can depend on.

I had to ask them (via email) once. I needed a tip for the pickup switch. I was ripped off by a dealer and I wrote an email to them. I got very fast reply and they sent me the missing part. I wish all customer supports were like the Oon Washburn has!!!!

Ive been playing for a long time and used to have many guitars but now having Washburn I feel that I have what Ive been looking for. But if it was stolen I would buy another one because of that big drawback I mentioned above.

Korean made, 22 frets, floyd rose bridge (don't use it much, but nice to have it there), Mahogany, H/H setup 600 series washburn pu's. Lots of reviews have mentioned no tone or no volume control... uhhh mine has both. 3 way switch. nice dark blue finish w binding. smaller scale guitar, but then I've got thin fingers :)

I play mostly blues, with some middle of the road stuff pitched in from most other styles. Bridge and neck pickups offer a good range of bass and treble. I've found it good for most styles, unless you're looking for that super-clean fender tone. very nice clean tone tho... without being overly 'ear drum bursting'. Pickups are nice.... good output with little to no buzz. I have no plans to change them.

Action was fine for me when I started out. As I wanted to move into faster licks etc I had to drop the action down... took all of 5 seconds. The pickup selector scratches sometimes, but that's through use.

Aside from the pickup selector being noisey (must fix that) I've had no problems with the guitar. Looks like good, solid construction. I dunno, smashing my guitar around to see what it'll withstand isn't my thing.

I played almost every guitar in the shop before settling on this one. I needed a guitar that could play most styles of music, and something that didn't sound like a Fender (or copy thereof). If I could find the same guitar without the floyd rose trem, I'd buy that (actually I think either the bt8 or bt9 equate to that). This guitar suits my playing and my style perfectly. It's not Gibson, it's not Fender, but I'm not paying $2000 NZ for a middle of the road Gibson/Fender, when I can pay under $1000 NZ for a Peavey or Washburn that'll do the same job. Forget what's on the headstock, and just listen.
