This guitar is just plain great! It has three single coil's for the great sound like a strat, the finish is very durable and I dont say that it will ever wear off! The strap buttons are screwed in tightly and I havnt had a problem with it in years !!

The spund is great also. It has a very clean cut sound. I personaly have a fender 30 watt champ and the two of them together are dynamic! The only problem was the strings, I replaced them with Elixir's!

The action was set up perfect on this guitar! It has no sound while changing pickup channels. The pickups are adjusted in very well and the finish is unbelivable !!!!!

The WASHBURN BT-3 is great for any style of music, i play heavy metal, and I'm happy with BT3s as i got 4 of them,
I have a Marshall VALVESTATE amp 250 watts, very happy :D
I also got a DOD boogie board with 4 pedals, 8 link equalizer, Digital gramophory & i also have a CRY BABY Auto-Wah and Phaser
If you have a Marshall or a Mesa Boogie, you got a little deamon in your hands! Belive me

I broke it so i know what it feels to have a member lost from your music-family. I play this guitar for the Energy, the interaction with others, not for the ego

this is a great starter guitar and then some. i have been playing for 12 years and played lots of guitars in that time. this one is kinda unique.
it is a strange strat. 3 single coil washburn pup's that probably should be replaced if you want to get this thing really screaming.
the body shape is somewhat similar to the musicman sport axis. a washburn dealer told me that BT stands for billy t, the guy who designed EVH's music man model before he jumped ship to peavey. this gives it a unique look, but makes it a bear to find a hardcase for it. billy t no longer works at washburn, so he took his copyrited design with him and they no longer make these (or the cases).
the neck is the reason i still have this. the headstock is a rip-off of the ampeg dan armstrong right down to the grover tuners. it's perfect! the radius of the neck is really thin and fast, action is low and the back of the maple bolt-on is unfinished for super fast playability!
this model comes with a wilkinson style trem that i don't use. the bt-2 has a stop tail that i would prefer.
i bought this because of the price and the neck. this is the best neck of any bolt-on that i have played.
the pickups kinda suck, though. emg-sa's would go well i think.

this doesn't fit my sound much at all, but i love the feel of this guitar. i play metal/hardcore through a 5150 half stack. its a great guitar for more funk, rock or blues oritented stuff, but sounds too bright for my applications. it is my #1 backup because of the playability.
the single coils are noisy as hell on a high gain amp like the 5150. it sounds okay, but has 2 sounds for me -- bright and feedback. in fairness, i am comparing this to my carvin dc-127 all mahogany neck through. apples and oranges. before i got the carvin i thought this was really thick. its not a bad guitar, but it isn't a thick sounding instrument either.

this is the best part of this guitar. it's playability is superb. stas in tune, looks good, solid as a rock.

the strap buttons pulled out after a month. replaced with a dimarzio click strap lock system and it's fine.
this is my backup, and i would never play any show without some kind of backup. this is a very solid guitar. it was my main one for about a year.

THE NECK IS THE SELLER HERE! if you are into strats, please try one of these. they are cheap, made in indonesia and have shitty pickups, but they are so good for the money paid. i played this against a squire and a mex strat. the mex strat had better sound, but this had much better playability.
if it were lost or stolen, i would probably put the money toward either another carvin or a dan armstrong.
i wish it had active pickups in a s/s/h configuration. it would be a monster if it did.
for $100 it was a steal. i might use the neck on another guitar or possibly put new pickups in it.
as a starter guitar, it can't be beaten. for a pro, it needs some tweaking to be up to snuff.

The action is lovley, its easy to play and the neck is very thin. It is wonderfluy balanced, as some strats, (The squires) i find are to neck heavy and and poorly ballanced

It's a 1999 model.Made in Indonesia. 22 frets.solid top. Two tone and a volume. 5 way selector.Pickups are s/s/s but soon, I'm going to modify to a stacked hummbecker on the birdge. All three Seymour Duncan. (Duncan Distortion SH-6/ SJAG-2 Hot/ SSL-6 Custom Flat) Body is made of alder and the neck is Maple with a rosewood fretboard. Body is styled similar to the Strat.Bridge is tune-o-matic.Locking Grover. Neck is thin Rosewood. When I bought it I talked the salesperson into a free gig bag and about $129.99.

The sound is almost perfect. It has 3 single coils like a strat for a good alternative sound. But I did want a hummbucker. So i will buy a single coil-sized hummbucker. I'm using a Crybaby wah, Boss DS-1 Distortion, and Jimi Hendrix Fuz/Wah. I'm also using a RMS amp, but hopefully will get a Fender or Marshall soon.It has a rich sound alltogether, but can have a bright sound. This guitar is more for Alternative rock (i.e., Nirvana) or Heavy Metal (i.e., Metallica). It doesn't have much variety on sound. I love the sound. it is really good for the price.

The action was well set up. The pickups were adjusted great, just the way I like em! The only flaw that I have found are the stings. I changed the Washburn Slick strings to Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings.

This guitar can withstand just about anything. It is a great guitar for live preformances. The finish will definatly last. The strap buttons are tightly screwed and are solid. This is a great, dependable guitar. I would use this on a gig without a backup without thinking.

It came with a full-coverage lifetime warrenty and the place where I bought it is a liscened Washburn Repair Center. Nashville Used Music was great. The came down from 159.99 to 129.99 and a free gig bag. They even stayed after closing just to let me try it!

I love this guitar. I would go buy anotger if it was lost or stolen. The only thing, it didn't have a hummbucker. My favorite feature is the head-stock. I would recommend this to anyone who had a limited buget like me.
