Pretty average setup, s/s/h pickups, 5 way selector, quilt top sunburst (nice), similar to a strat. Made in Indonesia??? (whatever)

What I like about this guitar is that it's shape is very easy to adapt to. It's body is a little more contoured than most strat style guitars. It has a generous laquered finish on it, i've had it for about a year, played the hell out of it and have very few noticable pick scratches on the finish. I don't really like the tremolo, but it's passable. The grover tuners are nice.

I really would have like black hardware on this guitar, it would blend in much better, but for the price, it's a great value.

I play metal, grunge, general alternative. I use a fender frontman 25R, with a Boss DS-1, DOD icebox chorus. The humbucker pickup WAILS! I love it. The boss distortion sounds great with the humbucker selected. It has a very high pitched distortion sound. Without distortion it has a very bright sound (might be the dean markley nicklesteels). The other pickups are about mid-range.

The neck is great! It's very fast, similar to a mid-range ibanez. The frets are also very even, and well made.

Overall the variety is good, but ibanez of similar cost seem to lean towards grunge and metal sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar came from Mars. It's only my second electric guitar i've purchased, but i took a couple of friends that've been playing for years. The guitar had no flaws, other than really crappy strings. The tuning pegs were loose, but nothing my screwdriver couldn't fix.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have played live with this guitar and it stands up to a lot of abuse. I believe i can depend on it, but I ALWAYS have a backup. My friend's strap broke on his $500 ESP and adios guitar. The finish is top quality. Better than most guitars that cost more.

Customer Support : 10
Washburn is a great company, that's why i bought one instead of an Ibanez or ESP. All my friends have Washburns and love them. I've also taken friends to MARS and recommended a Washburn BT2 or BT4 to begin on.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 3 years. I own a Fender Mexican Strat and now an Ibanez RG350DX (SWEET!!!), plus the frontman25r and the pedals i mentioned above. I think that the price was about 150 less than it could have been and still be a bargain. The quality and the name backing it up really get me thinking that this guitar may last until I do

The other reviews covered this pretty well: h/s/s, vol/tone pots, 5 way selecter. And of course the highlight of the guitar, the quilted maple top. For the price I think its the best.

Sound : 9
I play mostly grunge and punk with a little metal mixed in and it works great. I use the humbucker mostly but the singles give some good tone too. I play through a 12W crate amp with a boss super chorus, yamaha delay and aron distortion, i can get some fairly thick tones out of this. Only problem is the 5way selecter is a bit stiff.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
the action was perfect, but a guitar playing friend messed with it before it got to me. the controls are tight dont make any buzz, neither to the pickups, except when you have the singles on-but thats what single coils do. I'm not sure if this is me or the guitar, but my A and D strings break, a lot broke 3 in a day.

Reliability/Durability : 7
It's lasted almost 2 years now, but then the A and D strings have started to break, and my low E tuner is very stiff when tuneing up. if you know how to fix either of thoughs email me please, bassistboy@punkass.com everything else is solid. I would use a backup if I had one, simply because the A and D strings

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with them

Overall Rating : 9
I havent played many guitars...only 3, low-end ibanez, custum wolfgang, and this. needless to say the wolfgang through a fender tube amp killed this guitar. However I like this a lot more than the ibanez. I do wish it had H/S/H because i'm not a big fan of single coils. If I lost or stolen I'd be very upset, this is a great guitar to learn on, but I'd probably get a guitar more suited towards my musical styles.

2000 model. Made in Inndonesia, 22 frets. Volume and tone control with 5 way pick-up selector. Has S/S/H. Alder body with Quilted, Mahogany top. Rosewood fingerboard. Modified strat body with standard strat bridge and tremelo. Grover tuners and thin neck.

Sound : 8
I play mostly blues and rock through a Peavey Delta Blues 210. Effects are a Crybaby 535Q, DOD FX55 Distortion and either a Marshall Bluesbreaker or a Ibanez Tubescreamer. Guitar is very quiet. Can coax some great sounds even without effects and amp just on lead channel. With S/S/H configuration can get classic Fender or Gibson sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Guitar was not set-up very good from factory. Alot of fret buzzing on the lower frets on the 5 and 6 strings. Raised action a little and put on 10's and this took care of problem. Pick-ups were ok. The guitar wanted to detune alot so I tightened the tuning key screws and this seemed to help. Intonnation needs adjusted. The pickup selector is a little stiff going from the neck pickup on down. I am considering blocking off the tremelo as this is another reason the guitar wants to detune.

Reliability/Durability : 5
I don't play out alot so I think it will hold up fine for me. I question the durability for someone who is playing on a regular basis. The hardware is obviously entry level. Finish appears solid. I replaced the strap buttons with schaller locking buttons. I would not use it without a back-up.

Have had no dealing with Washburn. Not sure of length of warranty.

I have been playing guitar for over 30 years. I also own 2 Fender strats. One is a Custom Shop, the other is a 62 Jap re-issue. I own a 1964 Gibson SG Standard. For a $149.00 this is a great guitar. It has some really good features for the money (quilted top, good tuners). I bought because it seemed like a bargain at the price. They are going for $179.00 on E-bay new and used. For the money I'd say it hols up well against my other guitars as far as the sounds you can get out of it. I may upgrade some things as far as the hardware. A coil splitter on the humbucker would be nice. Overall a nice guitar. I would buy another one if it was lost or stolen.

Don't take the lower rating badly, this is the most awesome guitar I have played for the money (it can beat a freakin' american Strat at a quater of the price!) but it isn't overly full of features. Two Sings & one humbucker five way, blah blah blah, came with a el muy cheapo strap (thats means very cheap in poor spanish) But definately a solid great guitar.

Sound : 9
It suits my musical style excellently, a humbucker at the bridge for lead rock, grunge, metal, dirty blues. The the 2 singles at the middle & neck (duh)are good for jazz,clean,surf,non-dirty blues & so on. I use it with a Vox cambridge (GREAT AMP ONLY WISH I HAD AN AC-30!!!) and a Digitech RP-3. Sounds good to me & thats all that matters.....unless I giged, lol. However I must deduct one point (I wish they had half-points) b/c i am thinking about trading out the humbucker for something a little more hotter, like a S.D Screamin' Demon, but I dunno yet about all that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I action was fairly-decent a wee smigden of a tad high but most everyone dails their guitar in anyway. Great neck on this guitar so fast so so so very smooth, the finish is like the cherry sunburst on a Les Paul but quilted (goto www.washburn.com if you really wanna see it) I raised the humbucker up a little bit closer to the strings mainly b/c I was bored and I have to screw around with everything, lol

Reliability/Durability : 9
I could kill a rhino with this thing, (it would probally kill me first but the guitar would still be fine, lol)I dinged the finish twice which made me made beyond words, but they are made to play not to be looked at, oh well gives `em charactor.

Customer Support : 10
The offical Washburn dealer form which I got this guitar was sooooooooo very helpful and answered all my annoying questions kindly & informatively. so another words STEILBERG STRING INSTRUMENTS RULES!!! However I dunno what about getting the company its self.

Overall Rating : 10

This is a 2000 year guitar bought new. It has 22 "normal" sized frets and comes with a 5 way selector for its S/S/H pickups. For the price this guitar is very nice, and has nice pickups and a beatiful finish. Its cost $260 be itself but for $100 more I got a Randall amp and hard case, an all around nice deal.

Sound : 10
This guitar has EXCELLENT sound! I can go from clean, to smooth distortion, to chunky overdrive with no humming or other unwanted noise. I use a 15 watt Randall amp and it has nice sound, but I will occasionly pick up radio stations but then again that has nothing to do with the guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Everything was perfect the action was just right and everything. The only flaw was a 1/16th inch nick in the finish, other then that it was perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 6
It seems to be solid enough, I'm no where close to doing live shows but I would use a backup no matter what, Its to early to till but I think it will hold up. So i'll give a 6 for some leeway.

Customer Support : No Opinion
If I can't fix it, its time for it to go.

Well to early to tell but at the moment I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of this product

I like playing blues and lead guitar with loads of sustain, a violin stlye lead guitar player similar to black crowes, and ac/dc. I like sustain, sustain and sustain, with a little distortion.
This, with a simple distortion box, has that sound I enjoy. I can hammer strings without picking at low volume and it delivers. The 5 way switch allows you to get a variety of sounds, from blues, clean, rocakbilly, to heavey metal with the humbucking. If you are a lead guitar soloist, you will enjoy this guitar.I was surprised that the single coil pickups sustained as well as the humbucking giving a fatter guitar sound during leads.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
You need to this guitar for your hands, as the factory setting on the bridge assume you have normal hands. I have small fingers, so the neck frets are closer together than most, almost like a 3/4 neck, a tad larger.
The first one I tested the pickups were not placed properly and not aligned to the bass strings, so I bought a second model, which was corrected.
I dont what the purpose is for having a 1/4 gap in the 2 single coil pickups, so the one you buy, make sure the factory installed the pickups aligned properly over the strings.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Guitat is the most professional Ive seen for its 220.00 dollar price. Looks great, like a 500 dollar guitar. I play club gigs and dont use a backup, so it perfoms well and sounds great.

I have been playing 35 years, and before buying this, I played kramers, strats, BC rich, gibsons. This has the sustain of les Paul, and looks like a very rich guitar in the sunburst model. The neck was easy to play solos with, and for smaller hands, very nice.
The tone switch makes it versatile, for sounds from blues, metal to country.I hooked it up to a boss distortion box, and played it thru a fender amp at low volume and whammo I had the violin solo guitar sound reminiscent of ritchie blackmore of deep purple.
Not only does this guitar play well for a lead guitarist wanting solos, but it style is great looking a lot like those 1000 dollars sunburst les pauls in color, a magnificent stage prescence.
the 2 disadvantages I found were no pickupguard, But im sure that is helping this guitars incredible sustain. The 2nd was, the forst one I bought I had to return as the pickups were not mounted correctly at the factory, with the bass string 1/4 of an inch above the pickups coil... but the store gave me a perfect one for replacement.
