Beautiful cherry sunburst, quilted finish. Pickup configuration is: single, slingle, humbucker. 22 frets.
This is a lefty with a right hand nut and set up. I play that way!

Sound : 10
Even though I'm left handed, I've been playing right hand guitars (upside down)for decades. This is the first lefty I've owned. I love not having the knobs and selectors out of my way for a change. I can get just about any sound out of this thing I want. I love it!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
factory set up was not good for me becuase I play a right hand set up. The set up is great now. I love the action on this thing.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I had to take the trem bar off. It seemed to be messing up my tuning. Other than that, I'd play it anytime, anywhere.

I own 4 acoustic guitars, a mandolin, mountain dulcimer, elec. bass, and this thing. I would definatly rebuy it if it were stolen. The price was unbelievable.

Probably made in 2002 in China. My first clue to this was the sticker on the back of the neck that said "Made in China". There was also an inspection sticker on it. This particular guitar was inspected by "Number 2". It also has some Chinese writng on it.
It looks something like "@#%#&^* #%&%$#@#". The body is either Alder or "Solidwood"(per the Washburn website). I've never heard of the Solidwood tree... it must grow in China somewhere.
Also there is a "Quilted Maple Top Overlay" on it . This is very confusing for me, as it looks as though the "Quilt" is painted on.
I'm really not sure about this. Is it a thin piece of Maple with the
"Quilt" painted on, making it a "Quilted Maple Top Overlay"? Maybe its not painted on, but for some reason it sure looks that way to me. The weird thing is, whatever wood they ARE using
for the body, as per looking at the back of the guitar, its quite beautiful. This is a "Cherry Sunburst" guitar, and they do this very well. I wish they had canned the "Quilted Maple" thing and gone with JUST Alder or "Solidwood". I bet the grain underneath the overlay is WAY more attractive than the "Quilt", and they could sell this thing even cheaper, say around the cost of a right-handed BTQ4 so we leftys don't have to feel like were getting screwed by
ALWAYS having to pay more. Anyway, Its got a Humbucker in the bridge position, and two single coils. Its got a "Sonokelin" fretboard, which I think is a cheap rosewood, but I couldn't find any info on it . Satin finish Maple neck which makes it very smooth with no drag. Five way position switch and one volume,
one tone knob. This is a solidbody guitar which looks like a Music Man/Strat hybrid. I like the approach. Its got a Fender style vibrato bridge wich works rather well once the stings settle down. Grover tuners that look sort of cheap, but work very well. Neck scale is 24 and 3/4", which makes this great for smaller handed beginners. This guitar was purchased through Music 123, and arrived accompanied by a 4'(?) cord, a couple of Allen wrenches and the vibrato bar. Warranty card and string ad hang tags. It cost $199.99. For this price, Washburn has actually done an incredible job making a "playable" beginner guitar. The body is also tapered where the neck meets it, making it much easier to play in the upper registers. A well thought out , well designed
guitar with reasonable quality components. This guitar is leaps and bounds ahead of what one could get for $200.00 when I was a beginning guitarist. I would have rated this guitar a 10 for this section, but I give 'em a 9 because of the cheesy attempt pretty it up with that quilt whatever the hell it is. Even if they had just painted it like they do on their BT2 models it would have been better.

Sound : No Opinion
I have no idea how it sounds, as I didn't even plug it in . I do know that the pick-ups work, as I plugged in a tuner and was able to tune it. It stayed in tune when I was checking it out after a few re-adjustments, getting the strings properly stretched. My guess
would be that it sounds pretty good plugged in, because it sounded pretty good unplugged. Notes sustain very well, even without amplification.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action was reasonable from the factory, but I don't think that really matters as long as the guitar has reasonable quality components so you can make accurate adjustments, which this guitar does. Everything was absolutely impeccable as far as construction of this guitar is concerned. No flaws at all. Hey, "Number 2" does a damn good job of inspection!

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is solidly built, and will withstand live playing, but again, this is really a beginner to intermediate instrument. The five-position switch "feels" a little suspect. Other than that, this would be,in my opinion, a preferred first guitar that would enhance the learning experience rather than discourage it like so many cheap strat-like unplayable beginner guitars.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I intend to return this guitar, because I just can't get past the cheesy "quilt" finish. One has to LOOK at the guitar while playing it, and this would be hard for me to do. This was my first purchase from Music123, but I read nothing but good things about them on this site. We'll see.

Overall Rating : 9
I think this guitar is a great value. I would have kept it for slide
had it met my aesthetic requirements. Even if the pick-ups sounded bad ( I have no idea) I would have kept it and put in some after-market higher quality ones. This is an excellent reasonably priced guitar. Hey, its hard enough to find left-handed guitars, let alone find good ones.

I bought this guitar in Dec. of 2002. Made in Indonesia. If you've read this far into the reviews, you know how a BT4QLH is equipped. Bought from G-man music in Milwaukee Wi., of the internet. (great people to deal with!)

Sound : 9
I play 60's rock, some blues. This guitar has plenty of different sounds for a low dollar investment. I play it through a fender ultimate chorus, and a crate 30 watt solid state . Someone gave a review, and said his guitar was noisy, mine is very quiet.(I use a "good cord") This guitar is not big on sustain, but works well when I need certain sounds that some of the "oldys" have. Remember, this is a low dollar axe. It has a fast , thin neck, and has good tuners. Stays in tune well, and is not a heavy guitar .

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Guitar set up was O.K. from the dealer, but I did some fine adjusting to suit myself. I adjusted the humbucker slightly.

Reliability/Durability : 9
this guitar seems to be made well for the money. It should hold up well. Everything seems to be solid. Agian , this is not a $1000 guitar. The strap buttons seem solid, and the cherry sunburst finish is great looking, and seems durable. I've omned a lot of guitars in the last forty years of playing, and I have a lot of guitars, (fenders, gibson, danelectro, Etc.) and I'm impressed with this guitar as far as being a good value for the money. Some of these guys that have very little playing experience, have not given these washburns great reviews, but again this is not a $1000 - $1500 guitar. I wouldn't be afraid to use this guitar to gig with. However, I probably will use it more for fun, and home practicing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've had no reason as of yet, to deal with the company.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for around forty years, and if this guitar were stolen, Id replace it.I like the short neck and the finish. It is a better value than a lot of guitars in it's price range. Left handed guitars aren't plentiful, so us lefties have to settle for a limited amount of models. This guitar is a little different than the usual strat , tele, les paul type guitar. I like the body style. and it is a great sounding guitar for the money. Also, the dealer cut a deal on a washburn hardshell case. One thing, this guitar will not fit in any old case, so do yourself a favor, If you want a hardshell case be sure you get one that will fit this guitar. I also would recomm - end the dealer. They gave fast service.

Made in 2000 in the U.S. 22 frets and a maple top. Controls include volume, tone, and a 5-way pickup selector switch. SSH pickups. K-10 Humb bridge pickup, 6000 single type open neck and middle pickups. Cherry Sunburst in color (The only selection, being a lefty).

Sound : 10
I use it in a home studio primarily for hard rock & blues. It works great with either my 15-watt Randall amp or my 30-watt Carvin. The action is smooth, and on par with a lot of guitars I've tried in the
$1000.00 range. It covers a wide variety, from soft to screaming when I need it. the tone is crisp and clean. It's an all-around workhorse and it gets lots of compliments on it's looks. Had I not already have known the price, I might have given twice the $$$ I paid for it. The only (minor) flaw is the lack of another tone adjustment, but It really doesn't need it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The fit and finish was great, the pickups were standard Humbuckers and the fretboard action is real smooth and fast. I haven't noticed a single flaw in the way this guitar was built or designed.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It stands-up well. The hardware is sturdy; not at all what you'd expect in this price range. I would definitely say I could depend on it. I wouldn't say that I'd gig without a backup, but that's only because I'm that paranoid. It has nothing to do with the guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A - I haven't had a need for it yet. I've owned this guitar for about 9 mos.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 7 years. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Most lefty guitars come in one standard color in this price range (black)yet Washburn managed to give it a great color and finish. I compared it to several makes in this price range and it came out superior in most ways. -A great axe.

Good guitar for heavy rock. Good with yamaha amps and distortion effects. Can be loud or quiet, how ever you want. Easily adjusted and tuned to different styles. Sounds much like guitars costing $1500 and up. Great sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Set up well. Good mechanics and great looks. Pickups are great. No flaws, no problems so far.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Very dependable. Survives numerous live shows. Hardware seems very strong. Pretty good finish. I would bring an extra to a gig just in case, after all, it's an inexpensive guitar.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
Great value. As good as it gets for under $500. If it was stolen, I would get it again, unless I had a lot of money. Then I would get a lefty PRS.
