Make no mistake, this guitar is basically a one-trick pony. It's a lean, mean metal machine pure and simple. I can easily see why Dime would play this guitar, as it's custom-made for his unusual requirements-a dark, chunky rhythm tone for 90's detuned agression, but tricked-out well for 80's-style shredding. The Floyd has a smooth, light action and feels more like an old Kahler than a Floyd, which is great for me. The trem is setup for those sky-high pulls ala' Cemetary Gates. The pups sound great for stocks, and I've had no need to replace them. Plugged into my Line6 half-stack I can get a pretty convincing Dimebag tone without jumping through hoops. Electronics are above-avergae quality for an asian guitar. I've had mine for almost 5 years now, and not a crackle or problem of any kind.

Action was setup better than usual from the factory, but I play with the action really low, so I had to set it up. I always do, so no biggie. I bought the guitar on the net from a dealer that packed it very badly, not in the washburn box with barely any packing. I freaked when I open it, but the guitar was fine. Says something about the durability factor if it survived that ride. No complaints at all.

I haven't done much gigging in the last 5 years, so I can't really speak to it's roadworthy-ness, but I play it all the time and in 5 years I've never had any problem at all. It stays in tune, and the Buzz-Feiten really seems to work, as this is the first guitar I've ever owned (had 30+ prolly over the years)where I didn't have to set the intonation. Overall I love this guitar, especially since I got it for a song. It has a very unique look, a real rock star guitar for sure, always a head-turner, and feels and plays more expensive than it was. I've had Gibsons and Kramers that cost a whole lot more that felt a lot cheaper. The neck is thin and fast, and the body is light for a guitar this size, without feeling cheap.
The only thing that bothers me about the Culprit is the strap-button placement on the tail. When strapped-on, it leans away from you-top leaning towards the floor which feels really weird. In photos of Dimebag, all his guitars seems to do that, so I'm sure it's accurate, but it drove me nuts, so I just added a 2nd button about 3 inches higher and that solved the problem. Now it sits like a normal Explorer-shaped guitar.

Seemed ok, at least they answer the phone. I bought mine after it was discontinued, and I couldn't get a case anywhere, so I called Washburn and they told me that there were no more available. One BIG warning if you by a used culprit...make sure it has a case!!
I brought mine to a several local music stores, and NO case fits this monster besides the factory original, trust me. This is probably this widest electric solidbody ever made. I finally had to buy a broken culprit on Ebay just to get the case, and that was after 2 years of waiting for one to show up.

I've been playing Hard Rock and Metal for (gulp) almost 30 years.
If it were stolen or lost I would definately get another. It's not the best guitar to have as your only guitar, as the way-out shape makes it a bit uncomfortable for studio work and sitting-down, but for stage it's great. I have the Black and chrome model, and would love to find one of the Woodgrain ones, but they seem to be really rare for some reason.
I'm not nuts about the strange knob configuration, as the treble pup's knob is a bit far to reach for quick access, and the initial strap button location, but other than that, this has been as trouble-free as any guitar I've ever owned. Much better than the other 2 Washburns I had previously. Almost feels like a different company made the thing. Highly recommended to any metal lead player.

i play alot of heavy and punk sytle music, and it suits both of my needs. it is loaded with TONS of hardcore sound!! it has by far the most heavist sound i have played with, and it still have the ability to have a clean solid smooth tone.

i was real impressed with the way that it was set up, and the way that they got all that hardcore sound out of it. i have yet to find any flaws with the way that it was set up. the finish is beautiful! and it is loaded with chrome! the pick ups are decent, for them coming from the factory, i would personally drop in some Seymore Duncan screamin demons or a set of EMG-81's in but other then that it is great!

i know that this guitar will last forever for those of us who take care of our intruments, but fot those who dont it will still last a long long time. the hardware it durable too. i would trow on a set of locking strap buttons but those are good, it is a very dependable guitar and should go where it belongs, which is up on stage kicking ass!!! as far as going without backup?.....i dont recommend playing with out backup on any gig

When i bought the guitar it sounded great, but it was missing something.
It had 2 volume pots which i didn't care for.So i completely re-wired it to get a volume and tone pot.And i changed the pickups from the 600 series to EMG-81 bridge and neck.
Now the guitar is flawless,to my standards anyway.
I play alot of death and thrash metal and this guitar is made for that.

I have this as my main guitar now.Changed from a BC Rich Warlock and a Ibanez RG450.
Everything on this guitar is solid.
Will i use it at a gig without a backup?
I don't suggest anyone doing a gig without any backup guitar.

I've been playing for 7 yrs.
If it were stolen or lost,i would indeed buy another one.
Considering the size of the guitar, the guitar is rather light.Which i really like.
I highly recommend this guitar to anybody who needs a nice durable guitar for metal.

this giutar will stomp your balls (and i mean that ina good way) i play thrash metal (metallica, slayer ,metallica, pantera, and did i mention METALLICA!!?)and some grind-core(slipnot coal chamber) this giutar suits my playing style pretty damn well i play though a fender deluxe 112 and crate gx15 (both solid states) with a boss mt-2 metal zone ge-7 equalizer and a zomm 505. i get a pretty damn good sound fur my equipment. the humbuckers of quiet as fuck when not be used and let loose some ball stomping palm muted power chords. it souds pretty damn decent clean as well but i woulndt exactly recomend this giutar for blues or country i would still like to put some duncan invaders or distortion puickups and noonecan really sound exactly like metallica whithout a good mesa stack so i cant rightfuly give it a 10 until i hear it though a mesa or at least a good tube driven amp.

this guitar seems pretty fuckin' solid.everthing was tight like it should be. the the finish seems pretty rugged and the hardware is impeccable. from some reason or another i happen to realy like the tuners though,i dont know what it is but they just turn very well. the sting were set good enough but im pretty sure they can be set better there is nothing wrong with the way they are now but i am sure the can be set better, which i cant do because i cant even install new strings on it because i have no idea how floyd rose trem. work!!

this guitar is a fuckin' rock . although i would like to put some strap locks on it and i would never really gig without a backup just incase i were to break a string. but all in all i can depend on it

all in all i'd have to say this giutar kicks major ass. i it is an exelent guitar especialy whith the price i got it for (which by the way dont ever expect to find it for the price i got it at anywhere) if were stolen i d find the person who stole it and use as a torture device.if it were lost i dont think i could find another one at a price i could afford so i'd probably hit the pawn shops and find one used. this is a fine giutar for rock music (not that hip hop shit but REAL rock) now that i think about it though it is a little uncomfortable to play due to the body shape, i probably just need to get used to it though. oh well small price to pay for a killer body. although i cant rightfuly give it a 10 untill i hear it though a mesa boogie stack
