This guitar has a rich, thick sound. Similar to most Les Pauls, but better in my opinion. I play it mainly through a Epiphone Valve Junior Head and 1x12 Celestion G12K-100 speaker. This guitar is great for rock and blues.

I bought this guitar used and the action was very good. The pickups were properly adjusted as well. The maple flamed top is gorgeous and rivals many PRS top 10's that I've seen. There are no flaws anywhere on the guitar.

This guitar will last forever. The finish is flawless. The guitar is almost 10 years old now and still looks new.

I've been playing on and off for 30 years. I've owned many guitars and this one is probably the best. I currently also own a Gibson LP, Washburn Custom Shop WM3 and an Epiphone Wildkat. If this were lost or stolen I would definitely try to replace it, but they are fairly rare and aren't manufactured anymore. I absolutely love this guitar. Everything just feels right and it's of very high quality.

My CT4 is a 1997 USA Made Washburn custom shop CT. It is Cherry Sunburst solid top with cream white binding everywhere and the standard LP type configuration: volume and tone knobs, upper position pick-up selector switch, and the Seymour Duncan custom custom in the bridge and the SD '59 in the neck. The body is chambered mahogany... the neck is bound ebony with 22 jumbo frets - VERY nice, MOP tear drop inlays. It has the Buzz Feiten tuning system (fantastic!), schaller locking tuners, and the roller bridge with fine tuning adjusters. I got lucky and included was the nice navy blue Washburn "custom shop" plush lined hardshell case...

Excellent sound. Nothing more to say. I really appreciate the wood match with the PUPS - and it gets every sound I want. I use a Line 6 AX2 212 - so I guess I am a little spoiled - as I can just dial in any sound - but this guitar really sings on all of them. I really like it with the Marshall stck option - WOW!

I did not receive this from the factory - I FOUND it hanging in of all places a "Music-go-Round" in CO. I will however rate it on the after MY set-up action, fit and finish. They had it tagged at $1,400 - but the guy in the store couldn't believe I was interested in such and "OLD" guitar. It was a complete mess - wrong mismatch of strings - no set-up. I played really dumb. The sales guy couldn't get a decent note out of it - and told me he'd listen to any offers. He said he had no idea why this would be listed for sale for $1,400. I "stole it" for $500 - with original case - shipping to my house included. I actually talked the guy down $900 - he was firm at $700 - thinking 50% was a steal - then when I was gonna walk - he yelled out "the lowest I can go is $500" - hooked, line and sinker. When I received this from them - it was a mess. I was "told" that it had been professionally set-up - SURE! I had to undo the mess - restring it with 11s for tone - redo all of the intonation settings and adjust the truss rod. I was stunned at the way the neck perfectly aligned after all these years - and the intonation was dead on. I used a Peterson tuner - and I mean dead on! The ONLY reason I don't give it a ten is age - some goofs obviously played this thing with huge belt buckles and nicked its back a bit and it has a couple scratches - not too bad for a 1997 model - obviously lost in the shuffle.

Well - from the above - you can see that it is a 1997 - and only the duffs who scratched her did anything to her - I feel that she is a keeper. The finish is outstanding - shows the grains in the maple very well. All of the hardware is top notch - I really like the roller bar bridge - nice touch. All of the hardware looks great - except for the back of the Schaller locking tuners - looks a bit corroded on the locks. I always have a spare - but she will rock alone - no problem.

Washburn was actually very helpful. I called and talked to a guy named James M., he verified the serial #, and also told me that it had been Feitenized - so I was happy for the help. I also asked him about another item that they had in the store - and surprisingly he steered me clear - told me it had an R in front if the Serial# - and that meant possible trouble.

I have my ultimate "Les Paul" type weapon now. I owned two prior USA Les Paul Standards - sold them both. I could not get what I wanted out of them for tone - or feel. This CT4 is my prize - and she wails nicely. The Buzz Feiten system is tops - this is the guitar I've been searching for. I've been playing for 20+ years - I can't believe I ever walked into a Music-go-Round (but I am so glad I did). Thanks to the weekend guy running it - I really owe you - no I paid you - just $900 less than I thought I would have to...

This is a 1999 USA Made Washburn custom shop CT4. It is a tiffany blue solid top with white binding everywhere and the standard LP type configuration: volume and tone knobs, upper position pick-up selector switch, and the Seymour Duncan custom Trembucker in the bridge and the SD '59 in the neck. The body is chambered mahogany... the neck is bound ebony with 22 jumbo frets. It has the Buzz Feiten tuning system (fantastic!), schaller locking tuners, and the roller bridge with fine tuning adjusters. I also opted for the nice navy blue Washburn "custom shop" plush lined hardshell case...

I was very impressed with the sounds it punched out. The SD custom trembucker and the chambered body really produce some fantastic cleans: bassy and clear as a bell. The "59 in the neck kicks ass with the Marshall on overdrive: it's clean and crunchy and, again, the bass thumps your chest when you hit a string.

When I got it the action was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT all of the way up the neck but there was a terrible buzz in the 3rd fret which needed to be filed down. These guitars were supposed to have been examined with a microscope before they left the factory and I can't believe a factory tech let it out like that... this was my only disappointment in the functioning of the guitar.

This thing is built like a tank. It's heavy and solid and I don't forsee anything ever happening to it. I would definitely feel confident in taking it on a gig without a backup.

I had to deal with the store I purchased it from... I called AND e-mailed Washburn like 10 times about the fret buzz... Washburn is horrible at responding. Luckily the store I bought it from took over where Washburn failed and they fixed it for free.

I absolutely love this freakin' guitar. It's in a class of it's own just because of the design, the looks, and the playability of it. It's definitely an eye catcher. I've played many a LP in my 15 years as a guitarist and this baby puts the LP to shame in my book. For the price, the features, and the sound you get from it I can't figure out why they haven't replaced the overrated LP.
