hi, me again, damn computer shut me down the other day before I got finished.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GUITAR! It's just perfect, just exactly what I wanted, more maybe. I had my heart set on a Larrivee, but apparently, Larrivee does not need my money that bad, because their were several false starts and I got discouraged. I'm not trying to lay blame here, and I still think Larrivee makes the best sounding guitars, but it was disheartening nonetheless. Btw, two of my heroes, Brad Paisley and Pete Anderson, play larrivees, so that may have factored into my ill fated decision. But I have begun to think that the Larrivee deal fell through because "Paula" (hehe) and I were meant to be together.
I also, in case you care, own a Jap reissue 52 tele with Lindy Fralin blues special pups (Brad talking again :) a 72 blackfaced Twin Reverb amplifier (very lovely) several (well three) pedals, and a Harmony elctric guitar that I tote here and there to practice in my travels.
I'm foolishly confident that someday I will be good enough to justify all of that equipment.
Bottom line, I love my new guitar!
ANYWAY, tonally and aesthetically and any other "ally" I could not improve meaningfully on this guitar.

This is a standard acoustic dreadnaught guitar. When I say "standard," I don't mean "average" I mean that it's a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, tortoiseshell pickguard, abolone everywhere, cry in your beer dreadnaught. Also it is very beautiful, gorgeous would be the correct word. I didn't know that Washburn had a Custom Shop, right here in the USA. I like buying American made stuff when I can. The story I heard (I bought this used off of ebay) was that it was originally ordered by Paul McCartney's guitar tech for Paul to play on tour, before he decided that he did not want it. Btw, I hate Paul McCartney.
I forgot, this guitar has maple binding, which is very attractive. It's very important to make clear that she is gorgeous. If she were a woman, I think she would be Laeticia Casta. :)

Ok, before we get into sound, I need to explain some circumstances
I have been playing guitar for 15 years now, 14 of them right handed. It is a severe discredit to my intelligence that someone had to tell me to turn the damn thing around, and boy were they right. In a year playing left handed I am already better than I was after 14 years right. But I am not yet what you would call good, maybe a polite person would call me fair. (I REALLY SUCKED FOR 14 YEARS!)
Bearing that in mind, this guitar which has no electronics is an excellent sounding guitar, with AMAZING sustain. If you play note Y and then slide to note X, I swear to God, you can still hear note Y. I havent decided if thats a good thing or not, but it is amazing.
Possibly this guitar could use a little more high end, but I am more than willing to admit that that could be my fault.
If I was good enough to have a musical style, it would be bluish country or something like that. This guitar is an absolute rythm machine, very loud, and very resonant. I love playing the A triad at the 5th fret, with the open A and high E, and just soaking it in. The action is a little high for leads, but hell I cant play leads yet anyhow. Someday, I hope to become proficient at the "dead thumb" style of playing (we all have our dreams) and this guitar would be PERFECT for that style of playing. This stupid computer wont let me select a rating now, so I'll put it in here Sound:9

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This is a custom shop guitar, supposedly made for Paul McCartney. It is absolutely gorgeous for a used guitar. There were no flaws, although the action is somewhat high. (Maybe Paul likes high actions, who knows). Since I am trying to perfect my rythm playing, and intended it for rythm, a higher than normal action could be called perfect.

Reliability/Durability : 9
She's a well built woman, in every way.
I have yet to "gig" anywhere, so I cant answer those types of questions
