Great all around sound not tinney sounding but bright with a good bass tone not dark. If you are to amplify this use a good quality mic or pick up system it is worth it for this instrument. This would make a good quality guitar for stage or studio or ????

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Mine was a B stock with 2 slight cracks below the bridge and neck was out. 2 hours setting it up i.e. new strings, sanded down the bridge and adjusted the neck. It plays and sounds beautiful now. I am rating this as a B Stock. I played non B stock D 10's and they were fine after a pro set up.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Looks tough. only time will tell on mine but I suspect it will be just fine.

Never dealt with them.

Been playing since 1968 bass and acoustic around 1972. Went electric in 2005. Fender 50's Strat with Custom Shop Pickguard, Telecaster with 51 nocaster pups, 4 way switch Deluxe pickguard all custom shop. 1983 Guild D 15 and 2005 Epi Les Paul Classic Plus Cherry Flame Maple to fill in my studio needs. 2 tube amps Fender and Vox.. Just built a Fender P bass using P Bass alder Body and maple neck/fretboard with 57 Gold on Cream style with all Fender USA Deluxe parts. All work done by me. This Washburn acoustic is not just a guitar it is an instrument. I have played acoustic guitars in the 500. to 1000. price range and this is as good or actually better than most.

I play rock and metal in a band. I can use this for a live show, recording or rehearsal. The tone is great. I've owned cheap acoustics in the past and they've always lacked the ability to project a full sound. This guitar sounds very full whether acoustic or plugged in to an amp/pa. I perfer the mids dropped at about -5 and the bass slighly boosted. The presence on this guitar is very bright and chimey. The solid rosewood sides and back set it apart from the standard spruce/mahogany guitars. Adding Elixer nanos made it even better. The tone makes it very fun to play for hours on end. I give it a 9 because it's not a Martin.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Aside from 1 very minor finish flaw this guitar was immaculate. I got it for $200 new with full warranty instead of the normal $365-$450 by purchasing as a B-stock guitar from a Washburn dealer on Ebay. It took me a while to find the flaw. There is a very small ding behind the strings on the top that does not breach the paint. It's very hard to see but Washburn apparantly has pretty high standards as the
guitar is otherwise gorgeous. The natural spruce top finish, rosewood sides and back, dark abalone washburn logo and sound hole ring, gold tuners and multi lam wood (not plastic) binding makes this guitar look like I paid well over $500 for it. This guitar is a steal at the normal $400 pricetag much less half that.

The action is great. The neck is thinner like an acoustic and is equipped with a truss rod. The tuners are very high quality and it stays in tune. If it does go out slightly theres the built in tuner.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have not had it long enough to know if it's 'build ford tough'. However, although the guitar is fairly light, the construction definitely feels solid. With standard maintenance (humidifying, proper intonation, etc), hard shell case storage and normal handling, I think this guitar should last me a very long time without needing any major repairs.

Have not dealt with Washburn before.

Overall Rating : 10
I initially wanted an entry level acoustic to mess around with for fun but found I could get ALOT more features and quality spending just a little more money with this model. I've been playing for 15 years and I couldn't bring myself to settle for the 'okay' guitar when my ears can tell the difference. I'm more than happy with this guitar.

Acoustic, 20 frets, maghogany body, mahogany neck. Rosewood fingerboard.
Made in 1995, USA Handcrafted.
Washburn pickup, w/ volume, treble, middle and bass controls. Active pickup.
Single cutaway, easy fret access. Medium neck. Fender scale.
Locking tuners.

Sound : 6
Sounds great unplugged. Unbelievable sustain.
Great for every style with unplugged acoustics.

Using the pickup that came with the guitar it's hard to get clean sounds. It always sounds dirty, so it may be made for blues/rock. It sounds that way. I play through a Mesa/Boogie single rect-o-verb.

Unplugged: 10
Plugged blues/rock: 10
Plugged clean: 2

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action is the lowest i've ever seen on acoustics.
They've done a real good job on this thing, every joint is smooth.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Well, it has stood out ten years of extreme partying.

- This one doesn't suit clean music styles very well when amplified.
Sounds great clean though, and kicks ass for blues and rock when connected to an amplifier.
