i play anything from Zep,Eagles,CSN,Skynard etc..not much country, but i'm sure it can handle that. Bridge could be lowered just a tad.Factory strings are ....cheap??

Nice guitar overall.

I'm sure you could gig with it, not a Martin or Taylor, but seems pretty solid.I'm sure the tuners are cheapos, but hey,, they stay in tune!

Been playing off and on for 25 years, own an Oscar Schmidt, the Washburn , and Fender Strat, this isn't the best guitar out there, nor the most expensive but.. when i put Elixer Nanos on this one, she came alive, beautiful tone and sustain. Neck is fast and frankly, i've done the Martin and Taylor thing and to my "untrained" ear, i can't see paying $500.00 and up for the tone difference and to get a "kewl" name on the headstock. Again, i'm not saying she's the best built, but she sounds good and stays in tune. Is there more a musician needs??

I had the opportunity to examine 2 of these guitars sold by Target. The box says made in China in 2005. The built-in electronic tuner works well. Includes a padded gig bag, 3 picks, an extra set of light strings, truss rod wrench, and a DVD.

I am a beginner and this is my first guitar, but I think the sound is very good, especially considering the price. It seems to have very good sustain and volume.

There was a huge variation in the 2 guitars I examined. The first has extremely high action (painfully high). The nut is not recessed into the neck on this one. I filed it down to lower the action which made playing so much easier.
The second had a very low action right out of the box. The nut is recessed into the neck. The action on this one is too low as the 4th string buzzes when strummed hard open.
The saddles on both guitars seem to be very soft as the strings have made deep grooves in them.
Finish is good considering the price, although one of the guitars shows some scuffing of the bottom binding.

The tuners on 1 guitar are very smooth and it stays in tune quite well. The second guitar's tuners have some rough spots.

I found these at such a low price, I couldn't pass it up. However, I would recommend actually playing a guitar before you buy. You can't tell about action, sound, finish etc when its in a box.

This is Lyon Acoustic Guitar made by Washburn in 2005 in China. It has the standard size fretboard 20 frets, 14 clear of the body, no cutaway. It is a full size dreadnaught acoustic with a select laminated spruce top and laminated rosewood back and sides. It has a built in electronic tuner that works great. The tuners don't have a brand name on them but I believe they are Grover because they resemble the Grover tuners on my Epiphone Acoustic. The included accessories were: a soft padded case and 1 set of extra strings and 3 picks and a Computer CD with lessons on how to play guitar, plus a nylon strap and guitar polish and cloth and a capo and string winder.

It suits my music style fine, I use it to accompany myself when singing and my style is mostly country, the good old style, a little rock and blues and bluegrass. The sound of this guitar is surprising considering that it is made from laminated wood. It is very bright and even from string to string not like other laminated guitars,I bought it mostly just to have to teach my grandson guitar, but it sounds good enough that I may use it occasionally for live performance.

This guitar was set up very well right out of the box and all the adjustments were very close to what I prefer so the only thing I did was tighten the truss rod nut a little.
The top was bookmatched very well and the bridge was routed very well and the string height was great.
There are no flaws in the guitar that I can see.

This guitar will withstand live playing and the hardware should last for years with proper care.It seems to be very dependable and the strap buttons are solid.

It has a limited lifetime warranty which is unusual for a guitar in this price range. I've never had any dealings with Washburn but they have a good reputation.

I've been playing for over 30 yeaqrs and own several other guitars: Peavey T-60, Ovation Breadwinner, Samick Telly Copy, Peavey Heritage Amp, Behringer Amp, Peavey PA System, Akai Reel to Reel tape recorder, HP Pavillion Computer with Cakewalk Software Recording and mixing capability that I record on.
I didn't compare this guitar with other guitars until after I bought it but is stands up very well to competition in it's price range.
