Sound

I play a lot of hard-rock metal, and this guitar delivers.
The extra distortion out of those El Diablos just makes everything sound vicious and driving. Some people don't like distortion pickups because they can't get a good clean sound. Well, I just duck my volumn down to about 6/7 and my cleans come through pretty good. Besides, I don't really like running completely "clean" tones. I like a very light touch of gain there too.
I've run this guitar through a Digitech GNX3 modeler, Marshal 15 watt practice amp, B-52 100 watt tube half-stack, and the Randall RM4 MTS Pre-Amp. By far my favorite is playing through the Randall Dan Donegan signature module for the MTS series. The two were just made for each other (after all, Dan runs El Diablos as his bridge pick-up). The bite of this guitar through that amp just drives me straight into playing Pantera-style riffs. The Plexi module for my pre-amp gives me a good mid-high gain sound with this guitar that's suitable for playing anything from Foo Fighters to Stroke 9 to Nickelback.
The sustain is incredible on this guitar too. And if I want feedback, I've got it. If I don't ... then I don't get it. This guitar is as quiet or as squeeling as you want to make it sound. Natural Harmonics on this thing can sound like a choir or it can sound like nails down a chalk-board. Again, it's all in what you want this guitar to do. It'll do it.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The guitar set up was perfect (done by former Black Label Society, current Shinedown guitar tech, Fred Kowalo). I can not stress enough just how perfect this guitar came to me. The action is low where I like it, and in my opinion plays a little better than my WI-68 (US Shop) Washburn Idol. Of course, I didn't let BSG keep the 68 in their shop long enough for Fred to set it up, or else it'd be just as good.
There were no flaws on the finish at all, and the pick-ups were at the perfect height as well.
Reliability/Durability

I have not gigged this guitar yet, but I have NO doubts what-so-ever that it will stand up to whatever I throw at it, and wouldn't hesitate to play without a back-up if I had to.
I probably will add strap-locks at some point, or perhaps go for the chain route like Nick Catanese did with some of his Idols, but the body, neck, finish and pick-ups are all of the same quality I've come to expect from Boogie Street and Washburn.

I have not dealt directly with Washburn, but Erick "The Boogie Man" McKenna of Boogie Street is 100% top notch. He ships when he says he ships, his guitars are of the highest quality, and his prices are competitive. You just will not get a bad guitar from these guys.

I've been play for a couple years. My other gear includes a Washburn US shop Idol (WI-68), 2 Epi Les Pauls and 1 Schecter 007 Elite.
Everything you need to know about this guitar can be found at BoogieStreet.com, their E-Bay store, and the message boards on BSG. There were no surprises, and the guitar I got was exactly what I expected.
I would replace it in a heartbeat if it were lost or stolen (assuming Eric had any left, there's only 50 made currently!).
I look at several other Washburn Custom Imports that BSG offers, as well as the U.S. shop guitars. They're all fantastic, but this was the one for me in terms of style, sound and pure viciousness.
Check out BoogieStreet.com, you just won't find a better place for custom guitars at awesome prices.
