Suits my playing down to a tee. Rich full warm jazzy sound.
I play through Peavey Classic VT 212 amp. Only use light compression.
I just LOVE the rich tones from this guitar.

When I bought it second hand, it had just had a professional setup, so it plays amazing.
For a guitar that's over 20 years old, this my one is in fantastic condition. It was obviously a very high quality guitar when it was made.

If this was lost or stolen I'd trawl the world for another one!!!
i particuarly love the feel of the neck. Although a big guitar, it feels very comfortable.

I got it in '83, a sunburst (ser. 3063258) and i changed the tail for a Gibson tremolo - didn't have the money for a Bigsby. Eventually removed the pickguard because it kept rattling. It came without strapbuttons, so i added them.

I played everything from blues to punk to rockabilly on it. Really like the heavy low-end, specially on Fender Twinreverb's. It can sound from jazzy to feedbacking overdriven punk, it' quite versatile.

Even after playing on it for 20 years, it looks good. Like a used guitar should, a little worn and scratchy but i can still get the top to shine.

Been playing it live, without any major renovations for 20 years, and it never really failed me. The bridge saddles are fading now, so i'm breaking more and more strings quicker, but after 20 years that's not strange.

I bought mine new about 15 years ago so made about 1990. It is Japanese and describes itself as a Matsumoku product on the label. It has a Maple or Maple effect neck and a Maple laminated ply body with cream edge band.
It is a Gibson 175 copy (deep bodied semi with moveable bridge and chrome tail piece)two generic chrome finishes pick ups each with vol and tone controls and a selecor switch.

It doesn't really suit my mucial style (rock) but it sounds great for a rich jazz tone or clean bright quality. I have only used it with my Fender practice amp it tends to overdrive at even quite low volumes (pretty good for getting feedback).
Like the narrow neck dislike the action higher up the neck.

Have never gigged with this guitar but my gut feeling is that it may not withstand that kind of abuse.

Have been playing about 17years, I own an American Tele Deluxe and an Aspen Acoustic. I think I would invest in a more expensive guitar if something happend to it although I think it was excellent value for money.

No idea what year mine is, I bought it for #100 from my brother in law but I reckon it is worth a bit more than that.
It is a Japanese copy of the Gibson ES 175 jazz/blues guitar. 20 fret rosewood neck with mother of pearl inlays. Blonde finish with cream strip around egde of body.
Volume and tone rotary controls for each pickup and 3 way pickup selector switch. 2 humbucking pickups - mine are chrome plated and tuning pegs are chrome finish. Chrome stop tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge.
The finish is superb and weight just about right.

You can play any style on this guitar. It has a deep rich sound on both pickups. Jazz, Blues are superb, rock is ok but it was never really meant for that.

Action is good - could be a bit better but good enough.
No flaws anywhere - I think it is superbly made and finished

I've been playing about 40 years.
I used to have a Strat and a Vox AC30 but sold them all and bought an acoustic.
Recently I bought this one for home use and I love it. I'd recommend it to anyone playing jazz or blues.

It,s suits me just fine.... I play blues, rock n roll(50,60 etc)bit of jazz. I play it through a Fender Twin Reverb that I bought in 1978. Bare minimum on effects, Cry baby, analog delay, Amazingly full, rich tone, usually with the selector in the middle postion. I can play everything from jazz to sexpitols on this beast, I love it.
