Made in Japan, between '86 and '88 I think.22 frets, solid top I'm told. one volume, two tone controls. 3-way switch. Pickups is H/H. make of pickups unknown. Passive bass.think I have a rosewood on the neck, body unknown. Finish is a metallic dark red color.

Sound : 10
I play metal, and the fat sound approaches big metal bands. I have a Hartke 3500 Mosfet top, 350 watt, and a 4*10 inch 400 watt speaker by Trace Elliot. at home I practice on a Peavy TNT 130. Play both elements, and get a full fat thick heavy noisy and yet a very sophisticated sound. I (ab)use Elixir strings on it, nothing else. no dislikes on my Westone

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
bought it second-hand, I haven't changed anything on my bass. I think it should be looked at, just to make sure it keeps sounding great, although I think it still is in good condition.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Have been on stage, kicks everybody's ass. hardware seems ok, though some wires should be redone. I have one scratch on the back, probably from my belt or so. strap buttons are as solid as new. very dependable bass. I will use it without a backup, although the offer to take the Music Man stingray from our drummer is hard to resist.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never been in repair, after more than fifteen years and a factory that doesn't exist anymore, there is not much warranty left. have searched the internet, and found some information on Westone Basses, Guitars and the manufacturer.

Overall Rating : 7
I play the Westone for eleven years now, and I also have a Samick 5 string. If it got stolen, it would be hard to get a bass like this one back, I know now that there aren't many around.
I hope to see many more Westone players around, and see numerous Westone basses around!

I think it was made in Japan in the eighties. It has 22 frets. The pickups are H/S/H with a three way switch. One volume and two tone push/pull knobs. The finish metallic blue sunburst. It looks like a Strat, but with sharper cutaways. The neck are fat with thin frets.

Sound : 10
I can make very different sounds with it. I play it in a reggae band, but I also play metal with it. It has a very fat sound, but I can get very bright sounds too. I think it fits for any music style and I love the sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I think it's perfect. I have adjusted it for my self so I think it's great.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I am using it all the time and it works fine. It will last for a lifetime. I have been using it for six years now and it's no different from the time I bought it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It's hard to find them!

Overall Rating : 10
If it was stolen I had to thrash something! I love my guitar. If anyone knows anything about it PLEASE contact me!
