Now i think that this is a westone python
it has a great neck 24 frets and slim extremely playable
its an h s s setup but the only good pickup is the humbucker
it has 3 switches one for the use of each pickup in the pickup order
and the humbucker has 3 modes
the standard knobs one volume and two tone
it also has bridge master deluxe locking bridge has the best whammys of any trem ive ever tried.
it also has a great voodo sound with the reverse headstock!
greatest guitar ive ever seen if you change the single coils.

Sound : 9
ohh the hunbucker has some really good sound but its not complete with out the other pickups so it good with the extremely huge variety of sounds ofered by indepent settings for every pickup and all together plus a reverse headstock with some kick ass voodo sound
its good if you change the single coils

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
No flaws whatsoever great setup really able to pick it up and play some cross roads with ease and able to acces all 24 frets.
the finish is pretty cool some flashy wavy transperant navy blue outlined in white with white pickups.
Looks extremely cool with an american flag spitfire sticker

Reliability/Durability : 9
It is very durable and works great mine is over twleve years old and is still looking like new only thing is that the knobs after some use fall off

Customer Support : No Opinion
dont know and dont really care cause nothing has happened to it even when it fell and the strings broke (oh and the finish dint get hurt through that either its still looking new)

Overall Rating : 9
a guitar with some good looks and greats sounds with one condition and wide range of tones and best features out there is a deadly combo execpt for the single coils.

It Was Made Sometime In The 80'S,I'm not shure where it was made-but I know It was HANDMADE!!.I caught an add on some cheezy learn2burn video. It Has 22 Jumbo frets, maple finger board. The Body is solid(rock solid) it weighs 17lbs!!!.It Has 1 vol,2 tone,a 5-way.The pickup lay-out form bridge is H(Dimarzio PAF{polarity +,-})/S(Dimarzio PAF{rare)polarity +})/S(Dimarzio PAF{rare){polarity -},passive electronics. The Body Is Made OUt of A solid chunk o' wood!!Its a hard wood of some type,it's hard as hell to dent, the neck is made out of maple w/ reverse headstock-also has allen wrench holder,The finisk is black w/neon green/blue/white/yellow stripes. It has a strat style body, ihe thiness of the body is 2.239",The bridge is a pivot type sycronus(simmlar 2 a floyd rose)You can ajust the saddle it up and down, and move it back and fourth(unlike floy rose),you can go from E to Bb w/the fine tuners. It has Grover(non-locking)Machine heads\string lock is after the nut.The neck is 25.5(large sale)it is thin(neck)&wide(fretboard),no case,I've had it for 5 years w/no case it still looks new!!!!!!!

Mid-80's, Assuming... 24 frets, two passive soap bar pickups. One volume control, two tone, three position selector switch. Body and neck woods unknown, bass is painted white. Rosewood fretboard.

Sound : 10
The sound is big and full, but not muddy. I prefer to play with all the pots wide open. A few tweaks of the pots and you can get everything from a fat low end sound to a sparkly jazz tone.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Cant comment on factory.... Did my own setup. From what I see now the fit and finish are top notch, everything is fitted well and there are no loose items, no mis-alignments, only normal wear and tear.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have played live with this bass with great results. The bass is solid as a rock. I would and have giged with this bass without a backup. I have only had to adjust the truss-rod one time, when I bought it I put heavy gauge strings on it and it needed to be adjusted for the extra tension. had .100's I like .115's. No problems experienced.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I give it high marks. It sounds great, its rock solid, and it was very good value. I would buy again even at twice the price.

At a guess this is an 80's beastie, it's through-neck, headless and active. Like most Westones it has the 18 volt 3knob active set (vol, treb cut, and active treble/bass balance) found on Aria basses of the same era. Two switches, one is active on/off (so you don't look dumb if your batteries go flat on stage like with many other actives!), the other is either a coil phase switch or a 'bright' switch...
2xJazz bass style humbuckers
24 frets on a jazz style neck, accessible all the way up and not sounding woolly like Fenders and other cheap bolt-on basses
Beautiful flame maple top covered in a translucent red, through neck is coloured black and continues as a stripe through the centre.

Sound : 9
This bass has such a good sound, with the actives off it sounds very Jazz-bass like, but with no dead spots. With the actives on, you can go anywhere from Robbie Shakespeare to Peter Hook!! Rage Against the Machine songs sound like off the album, Chili Peppers sounds great, New Order is spot on. With the neck p/u selected with a bassy setting you can get a slightly fretless sound, great for the slow ones. Downside is that sometimes it picks up CB radio in summer...
It suits most styles well, but obviously its look doesn't... my old man tried it once gigging with his Country & Western band and it didn't look the part!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Unfortunately this bass is well past its prime, I've had it refretted as it was worn to the fretboard... certainly the original frets suggest this was a well finished machine (albeit with cheap fret wire perhaps? Anyone else had this grief with Aria/Westone basses???).
The bridge saddles are knackered, whatever they are made from is too soft, I've had to file out the original knife edge and create my own.
Neck is very soft and sensitive to temperature changes...

Reliability/Durability : 6
Since its lasted this long I guess it will last some time yet! Live its a little heavy, but being headless it doesn't nose dive making it ideal. The finish is remarkably intact considering the number of times its been dropped, or knocked into
I use this as my main bass, and carry a set of allen keys for any adjustments to the action in case the venue is v.cold/v.hot... better to be safe than sorry (Hint to guitarists with locking trems).
Didn't used to take a backup, but have since purchased a 5string Wal-copy and a rough old fretless...
Doing well considering its age

Customer Support : 1
Westone went bust mid 80's as far as I'm aware after a brief flirt making cheap Jackson copies (Charvel???)

Overall Rating : 7
Great bass, shame its as old as it is. Its ready for some care and attention but is still the business. It has no serial number and I've never come across one like it except once on an ad where a Westone Super Headless was listed at #400... may be the same bass?
Sounds great through my Trace-Elliot amp+Peavey 4x10 rig, sounded slightly meatier through my old Hartke 15" combo.
If I lost this bass or if it was stolen I'd be screwed... nothing short of a Status would do...

It appears that the bass was made in the 80's. This peticular bass has 20 fretts. There are only 2 controls volume and tone. This bass is mae of natural maple wood. It has a clear transparent finish. The neck is relatively flat and thin for easy hand positions.

Sound : 9
The sound from this inexpensive bass sounds better then some basses that are priced at 1,000. The sound and tone are full of richness. There are no need for effects on this bass. The natural sound is pure.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action needed to be adjusted. The fit was fine. The finish was also fine.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This bass is very durable, reliable and bold with tone.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't tryed to find service rating unknown.

I have been playing for 22 years. When this instrument is played and heard the sound sings for its-self.

The only thing I could think of that this guitar might use is another tone knob for a strat-type configuration. It has two single-coil pickups and a humbucker in the bridge position (all EMG's), volume and tone knobs, a five position pickup selector and a toggle coil splitter for the humbucker. All black hardware. Also a Floyd Rose-style floating trem by Kahler. The most interesting thing about this guitar is a modulus graphite 22-fret neck. It is bolted to a fairly strat-style body which is painted a sort of metallic red and bevells off around all the edges. Looks incredible!

Sound : 10
This is a really good sounding guitar; I've heard plenty of high-end guitars that were better, but not by much. It's also really versital. I can get a really nice round sound out of the humbucker (which I use all the time-- both clean and driven to hell), and an ok vintage twang from the singles if I set it up right. The best thing is the sustain. Unplugged, this is without question the loudest solid body guitar I have ever come across. It resonates soooooo well..... It does feed back a little if I'm playing at performance volume; not that squealy, annoying feedback- the kind where if you get close to the monitors, a held note will never, ever die. I'ts really fun.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The only thing I can find is that the neck isn't perfectly straight. The guitar genious I know likes to set all his strings really low, and this guitar started to fret out a little on one string at about the 17th fret. I like to play with my strings up a little higher, though, so it isn't a factor for me. Everything else is great!

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have played this guitar for over a year and have had no hint of any problem whatsoever. Floating tremolos are really hard on strings (the way I use it, anyway), so I wouldn't take this guitar on stage without a backup, but if my strings lived forever, I would be set for life. Rock solid.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never dealt with the company (I also have never heard of the company).

Overall Rating : 9
I have seriouosly modefied every other musical instrument that I have owned. Not this one, though. for $275, it was a dream come true. I don't personally own any really high-end guitars, but I work with people who own really nice gibsons, fenders, PRS, various oddballs. They all agree that this guitar will hold it's own among these greats. I personally prefer this guitar in most cases. I love it. This graphite neck is really something: it's got a sort of rough-sanded look, but it's really slick-- the fastest neck I've ever played. If it was ever stolen, I'd go nuts, then spend the rest of my life in a misty stupor, wandering from store to store looking for it's twin. Well, probably not, but I would definitely buy this guitar again.
