This is a Yakima Strat copy that I picked up for $66.00. It is black with a one piece maple neck and black headstock.Yhe body is laminate and the neck has a skunk stripe about a 9 in radius and a bullet truss rod.The action is nice and low with no buzzes. I believe this baby was made in Korea ca. early '80's. It remiinds me of a Memphis or Hondo from that era.

It sounds like a typical low end Strat copy from the post lawsuit period. My favorite sound is the second or fifth position. The 2nd has a nice out of phase tone and the 5th is sweet and full bodied. The 1st, 3rd and 4th are not so swell.

This old girl has held up well. The neck is straight and has a cool vintage tint. I like the radius of the fretboard and the fact that it is one piece.

I think you could gig with this beauty. She'd hold her own against the Big Boys; but I mostly play it in my basement when no one is around.

This baby is very user friendly. If something is not just the way you want it, you get out the tools and go to work.

I've been playing for about 15 years, but I am more of a repairman than a musician. Ive had many Strat copies pass thru my hands and this one is near the top as far as comfort and playability. Chances are you'll never have a chance to own a Yakima Strat Copy;they are somewhat rare. If you see one grab it. Check it out and if you don't like it you can always pass it on to someone who appreciates the lowend treasures.
