My first guitar ever was the 112.

In my opinion it is the best guitar I ever bought.
The neck and the 22 frets are easy to get around. The body is solid and durable which is good for beginners and really aggressive players.
The pickups are a S/S/H configuration and all three have managed to last me 3 years.

Sound : 8
I play a sort of heavy metal style.
The 112 has the ability to sound extremely heavy while maintaining the high notes required for solos, which is good, because it suits my style, heavy and aggressive.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
it will definetly withstand live playing, it is a cheap guitar that sounds and looks expensive.
I can really depend on it, if I want to learn a new song or play in front of a crowd I will go straight for the 112 it has never let me down.
I wouldn't use it at a gig without a backup though, I wouldn't risk damaging it beyond repair.

I have been playing for 3 years it is the best guitar I ever bought. I love everything apart from the pickup selector, mine is just tempermental, it works when it wants to work.

When I first seen it, I asked to try it out, I walked out the shop with it. It was almost like I was drawn to it, like I was meant to buy it and it has never let me down and it is extremely reliable.

Overall, A good beginner guitar, won't break the bank and good for experienced players too.

Bought mine in 2001/2002, it's the 112M, alder body with maple neck. A 22-fretted maple fingeroard, the build quality was good.

Strat-styled, but it's only got a volume-tone config, with a 5 way switch, and an S/S/H configuration.

The stock potentiometers and the 5 way switch were kinda noisy after about 2 months or so, thus i got them replaced with something better. The 5 way switch was changed to a GOTOH made in japan, the pots, i forgot.

Mine came with natural finish, and the tuners....well..the tuners are kinda crappy too. I hunted for a suitable set of machineheads at the beginning of the year, and I ended up using a set of Gotoh tuners

For this amount of cash, i think it's worth it though.

Sound : 8
I play mostly blues and rock, and this guitar suits it just fine, AFTER i changed the bridge to a seymour duncan SH-11.

I'm currently using a small crate amp with it, and a Vox Wah, Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde, DOD Stereo Phaser and DOD Digital Delay. In the jamming studio, the guitar sounds good on the SH-11 when ran through a Marshall Stack, only thing is, the guitar sounds quite 'thin' when using the single coils when run into a high-gain amp.

I'm planning to retrofit the neck with a Seymour Duncan JB, and get it rewired for a push-pull pot.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Initial action was good, but not to my liking. It was further set up by my good friend at the shop, and it was better after that.

Flaws wise, i think i couldn't realy find any except for the noisy pickup selector and the crappy machine heads.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar is built to take it.

I'm not one who's very careful, and even though i try to be as careful as possible with my guitars, i still knock them around.

This one's withstood about three years of live playing, and as mentioned by the previous reviews, it does seem to be built well like a rock.

Hardware wise, the stock ones wouldn't last long, and will undermine the actual tone of the guitar itself.

The strap button gave way within a year or so of me playing, so i replaced them with the locking strap tuners, and it actually became loose as i continue to play. Ended up using a wood filler to fill the hole and then drill the hole again. Now, it is solid.

Depend on this? yeah. week in week out, so long you replace the stock parts with something better, this is dependable.

The bridge isn't that good too, not heavy enough, and i replaced mine with a heavier one. Sounds much better.

Gig without a backup? I used to dare, but not now, for any gigs, i'll get a backup just in case, but if there's no way to get one, I'll gladly get on with this.

Customer Support : 6
great customer support from the tech, but yamaha service centre generally takes long to do their stuff.

1 year warranty.

Overall Rating : 7
Overall rating, if you're on a budget, get this. Replace the humbucker, the bridge to something heavier, the tuners if you'd like, and do a proper set up.

yupz...

22 fret, got mine with the rosewood fingerboard, also available in maple. One tone control with a five way selecter. Pickup configuration S-S-H. Though change the Hum for a Piezo if you have the money. Solid alder body with bolt on maple neck.

Sound : 9
The guitar features a solid alder body, which in conjunction with the powerful bridge humbucker and two single-coil pickups produces an impressive palette of vintage and rock sounds. Great for people with varying tastes in music. The humbucker does the job quite nicely. Has a full sound, gives out a variety of great tones.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Well set up guitar, everything was nicely in order when I bought it and it plays great straight when bought.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar will last you. It has been extemely well made for a budget guitar and is very dependable. Not sure about taking it live, may not withstand constant abuse.

Customer Support : 9
I have recieved great customer support for this guitar.

Wow, what a fantastic guitar. I've been playing it for 3 years now and havn't looked back. It plays so tremendously well that you dont want to put it down. Fantastic guitar, great price.

Features : 8
Mine's a mid 90's model by the look of the aount to screws in the pick-guard (8). Its got a natural satin finish and a rosewood fretboard. 22 frets. S-S-H set-up.
Basicly when I got this guitar, it was in a mess. The guy before me put stickers all over the place (I hate Stickers on guitars), the pick-up selector had fallen apart, the bridge was half way to the neck and there was half a ton of crud all over it.
I started moding this right away. I placed a Dimarzio Fred in the bridge possition and a bridge pickup from a Honor guitar in the middle possition. I left the neck pickup in place because i like basic pickups in the neck. I replaced the five-way selector switch with three on/off switchs (one for each pickup) and a cut-off button that only engages when pressed down. Fixed the bridge down. Put some 11's on it (with a wound G string), then tuned the whole thing to standard C, Kyuss style. This guitar is very scary.
If this were a basic Pacifica, then I'd give it a 5 for features. But since my mods, I'll give it an 8.

Sound : 8
Before, this made no sound (yes it really was that broken). But now it really kicks out the jams. This guitar is made for stoner rock, and fits it very well indeed. I can get a hollow growl or hair-metalesque wail out of this with a simple turn of the tone (and thats just with the humbucker). The Dimarzio Fred really does let you govern the sound with pic attack, and gat easily reach the high gain settings without sounding like a shred guitar. The middle pickup gives out nice harmoncs and can give you feedback that can be controlled easily (I like anti solos). he neck pickup is nothing special, but can offer acoustic like tones or fatten up the sound of one of the other pickups nicely (and I really like the sound of single coil neck pickups anyway). The cut-off button is useful for getting those stop-start style riffs that i like.
If this was a basic Pacifica (I've played my freind's) it would get a 6 because it's basic but very vercitile. Mine gets another 8 (mainly because it's just what I was looking for).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
When I got this it was in dia shape, with no fit, action and (because of stickers) finish. I spent a good hour or so just making this look nice and the areas offinish that were not covered, look really good. I adjusted the action to the way I like it, not to low not to high, and buzz free. The nut didn't even need cutting for the fatter strings. All in all Pacificas are very well made for their price. I own a #560 Squire super sonic (a fender in all but name) and that's made of cheaper wood. An the neck is amazing, with smooth frets and nice depth. In the end a 9.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Well it was basicaly dead when i got it, and it's still ok. With a natural finish, you can't really chip the paint, so I guess you would never know. I might gig with out a back-up because the strings aren't under enough tension to break easily. But saying that anything could happen (I which case I need a new guitar). Stays in tune very well, so I'll give it a 9.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never need to talk, this things far past its 1 year warrenty. And I do all my work myself (hell i did the wiring).

Overall Rating : No Opinion
This guitar is a dream to me. I don't like the look of strats and this let me have a cheap guitar to work on without looking like something I dont want. I worked out that all the parts new (including the guitar) would cost #300, and with it all being used (including the Dimarzio Fred) I spent #100, thats a third the price! If I unwantingly parted with this guitar, I would be heartbroken, and try and put another one together. This guitar is certainly greater than the sum of it's parts.
I usually play this through a Yamaha amp i found (yes found), and i Goes through a Marshall "The Guv'nor" (origial, not the reissue), and it sounds so dark and scary at times. I love this guitar to bits and it often ends up showing me something new to do with the guitar everytime i pick it up.

Well, you know the spec from the other reviews. Mine is one of the later ones (2003) made in Taiwan, I think, and is in metallic red with a bubinga (!!??!!) finger board, which is a kind of rosewood apparently.

It actually came with a nice little owner's manual and all the necessary Allen keys, etc, to adjust it.

Sound : 8
I play mainly rock music, and I bought this as a back-up for my Fender US Fat Strat. It's got a more toppy sound than the Fender, but I'd say its just different, not necessarily worse. It clearly isn't going to be as good as a US Fender, but it is a very passable spare.

I use it through either a Line 6 Flextone II XL or a Line 6 Spider 112 (depending on whether I'm travelling light or not) and it sounds fine. If anything I'd say it's a bit louder than the Fender.

For the money the sound can't be faulted.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The set-up straight out of the box was fine (and I bought mine mail order, still with the rust-proof paper round the strings, so I know it hadn't been tweaked by the supplier). I tweaked it a bit because I put 10s on it and blcoked off the trem (which, incidentally was perfectly set-up to float properly (once it was tuned up) straight out of the box - amazing!) and it is very comfortable and nice to play.

The trem is of the "vintage" type, so it's not going to compete with the Fender US standard Strat bridge, or Wilkinsons, or that sort of thing, but it does the job OK, and tuning stability is OK. The nut was cut fine, if perhaps just a whisker too high, and the frets were all nicely polished. The whole feel of the thing is very vintage with high, skinny frets, vintage-ish neck, vintage trem, etc. The only thing giving it a more modern twist is the neck humbucker, and I like that.

My only gripe is that the string height adjustment screws stand too proud of the saddles and so it can be uncomfortable to rest my hand on the bridge. Some time I'll get round to shortening them.

The finish on the body and neck are nothing short of miraculous for the price, it all fits together perfectly and the hardware, 'tronics and tuners are all fine. Hell, it stays in tune whatever you do to it!

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've played this guitar with my band, and it stands up to it fine. I'd be quite happy to gig this guitar without any backup at all. A friend of mine's son has one which he's really badly mis-treated, but is still plays fine, even though it looks like a piece of garbage!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had any dealings with them.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for over 20 years and I also use a Fender US Fat Strat, Yamaha APX5A Electro-acoustic and a Fender Telecoustic. Amp-wise I use a Line 6 Flextone II XL or a Line 6 Spider 112 and also have a Zoom 505II multi-FX and a Zoom 504II Acoustic multi-FX.

The only thing I wish I'd asked before buying this guitar is that I wish I'd asked to try one out in a shop sooner before I wasted a load of money on other budget guitars as a backup (Washburn super-strat, Epiphone Les Paul, etc.) none of which have ever been a satisfactory backup for my Strat. If I fell on hard times and could only keep this one guitar I'd be a bit sad to see the others go, but it wouldn't be too bad.

If it was stolen I'd order another one before I even had the insurance money. I love the sound and feel of this guitar and the general vibe. The finish is great; very striking and it plays like a dream.

You really cannot get a better guitar than this for under #300. If you want a back-up guitar, or if you are a beginner, don't mess about: buy one.

it has got an alder body, s-s-h pickups one volumet and one tone buttons, rosewood fretbrd, and a lousy whammy bar/ bridge.....
it looks good though

Sound : 7
a relly crappy humbucker that sure sucks, very limited. but one of the better single coils for a guitar this cheap. has the versatility to play most songs,. play rock , clean and if you change the hum, can play it Very Heavy (like duh)..

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
good build, superb neck , lousy pickup selector (the electronics are sure damn cheapo, otherwise its almost perfect for this category) cant really fault the guitar here.

Reliability/Durability : 8
i sure wouldnt want to gig with it. the guitar can hold but im not sure the electronics would(sounds crazy but yeah). i have the most embarassing experience with this guitar. the electronics died on me in an audition and i have to scramble for another guitar. the strap buttons sure could be better has the most tendency to become loose. Fell down twice, OOps, and i have to repair it evry time... *&%$ing Electronics, other than that its Fine. The bridge has a little tendency to come loose however

2002 model of the popular 112M, maple fingerboard, alder body, maple neck, 22 frets, awful bridge humbucker (see later) and decent single coils in the neck and middle. Other niggles include poorly finished nut, cheap looking tremolo arm. But at the price all are easily fixed and doesn't take away from a great value guitar

Sound : 6
Played straight out of the box. Very impressed with neck and middle pickups, but the bridge 'bucker is terrible. Was the first thing to be replaced, still saving up to replace the nut, bridge and saddles and trem with Graph tecs, also replacing the tuners with Sperzels.

Overall a very impressive all round guitar, a bit light, but then that's after 5 years playing a Les Paul. The guitar can handle good old fashioned blues (SRV), to clean arpeggio stuff right through Green Day to Mark Tremonti style grunge.

The body and overall construction is superb for this price, the trade off comes with the crappy electrics, nut and tremolo.

The maple neck gives it a brighter, glassier sound than the rosewood, which to me felt too 'dark' for this type of guitar. It really does suit being thrown around for pop-punk stuff rather than striking poses liek Jimmy Page/Les Paul.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
Set-up by the store (Merchant City Music in Glasgow, UK), too low for my liking but easily remedied.

The main flaw is that, once I'd replaced the 'bucker with an old Ibanez stock one, the strings aren't aligned over the pole pieces of the neck and middle p/ups. Quite annoying.

Reliability/Durability : 5
Haven't gigged this guitar yet, but feel it'll be more than up the job once finished. I don't think the factory fitted hardware would stand up to regular gigging, but like I said, you're really trading excellent materials and build quality for bargain basement hardware.

Would never ever gig without my LP as a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
1 year manufacturer's warranty, haven't needed to deal with them, but wil drop them a line regarding the mis-aligned strings

Overall Rating : 6
Playing semi-pro for four years. Also own a Fender Mx Tele and a Epi Les Paul, and an Ibanez Destroyer although it's had all the electrics taken out. a 15W and 50W set of Laney valve amps, various pedals and a KORG AX1000 pedal board.

Would replace it if nicked. Compared it to a Fender Squier tele, Squier Strat and 112 Rosewood fingerboard. It wiped the floor with the Fenders.

can't really say what the origional features were like, cos i changed pretty much all of them. fitted a seymore '59 bridge, rigged for series/split/phased and a lil 59 neck rigged for series/split/parallel. replaced the tuners with sperzel lockers, stiffened the bridge, and am about to replace the pick guard with a home made aluminium one. but the point is that the basic body and neck of this guitar is easily a match for any fender.

Sound : 5
great. now. the humbucker was god-awfull, first thing i changed. singles not too bad

not bad, as i recall. lowered the action substantially, tinkered around a bit with the intonation, otherwise fine and dandy -amazing for the price though

a bit more fragile than my godin LGXT (which i havent modified at all) its still a great guitar which i use just as much as the godin. finnish aint spectacular, but at the price and with the great tone of the basic instrument, who's complaning?

I have owned this guitar now for about 6 years. I use it through pod 2 with a floorboard and go into a vox amp. It sounds great. I dont need anything else. it can play anything and sound convincing. I play loads of stuff on it blues, metal, mainly rock stuff like led zep, u2 etc. neck pickup is great, the main clean sound i use is the toptwo pickups, position 2, its slightly warmer than just the top. The humbucker whilst bein a bit cheap is still good. I've played loads of guitars and i still prefer this one. Humbucker gives a great cutting tone, not too thin, not too warm. Personally i prefer just having one tone control, much simpler.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I have only changed this guitar slightly since i got it and that was just to make the bridge a bit tighter cos it kept liftin up. It played fine out of the factory, great action everything fine. I put locking strap buttons on cos my strap kept comin off.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have gigged this guitar several times without backup guitar and have had no problems. I practice on it regularly and after six years it sounds as good as it ever did. Mine is the natural wood finish and apart from darkening slightly it still looks the same.

Never had reason to deal with these people

I bought this quite a while ago in 1996, when I was still a relatively novice player, and when Yamaha Pacificas were the best budget guitar that you could buy in England (arguably they still are). I was looking for a cheap guitar and specifically bought a Yamaha because a friend I was jamming with at the time had a Yamaha RBX (something or other - another budget Yamaha but more out there rock than a Pacifica, with no scratchplate and an ugly great humbucker in the middle position), and I admired the build quality of his guitar.

The range was smaller in the mid-1990s than it is now. My Pacifica is a 1995 Korean made 112(M) - the mainstream natural finish Pacifica, but unusual in the sense that the (M) signifies a maple fingerboard - most have rosewood. The neck feels faster and superior to any 112 with a rosewood fingerboard that I have ever played.

Essentially, 112 Pacificas are a Strat copy, with a humbucker in the bridge position as opposed to the usual single coil. (Usual single coils at the neck and in the middle position).

Solid Alder body - incredible really at this price.

Incredibly stable tuning. Efficient tuners. Good intonation straight out of the box.

The only thing you might want to put back in the box however, is the tremolo bar. The tremolo is the only thing which feels a bit "budget" on 112 Pacificas. I had a friend who worked in a guitar shop tighten the screws that hold the springs in the spring bridge in place - effecively making the guitar into a "hard tail". I feel sure that this was responsible for helping the great stability of the tuning. If you don't use a trem, then this is a sensible (and incredibly easy) modification to make to the guitar.

Sound : 7
I began, like all novices playing through a little practice amp, and the guitar did not sound too bad. Then I lashed out on a Laney VC30 Valve amp and the sound really came into its own. I play blues, and the 112 can certainly sustain this style on the first two pickups, with both the volume and tone pots rolled off slightly. The sound is too spikey with all the controls turned up to full. I remember playing Peter Green's "Man of the World" on the neck pick up with maximum reverb on the amp, and the tone was really good for such a cheap guitar.

The neck pick up is undoubtedly the best. It has a very pleasant sound, with some Stat-like silvery tones. Good for rhythm or lead. The middle pick up is slightly subdued, but has soem good useable tones. The only let down is the humbucker at the bridge, which is pretty scratchy and underpowered. If you are the type of player who wants fat humbucker tones, you will probably end up changing this.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
These guitars are not incredibly exciting, but they are very well made. Fine to play out of the box. Unlike most cheap far Eastern made guitars they have an element of craftmanship to them - compare this with a cheap Epiphone or Squier and you WILL see the difference. Everything is properly aligned. The action is well set. If you are a beginner and don't have the expertise yet to fiddle around with guitars then you will appreciate this. 112s are incredibly easy to play. This makes them excellent guitars to learn on, whilst they have a sound which is respectable enough to make them giggable guitars as well.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It's pretty solid. I used mine for a quite a while before buying another guitar (which turned out to be a mistake), so I carried on with the 112 and then finally upgraded to a USA made Fender Telecaster in 1999. Now, I'm not saying that this guitar compares with a Fender Tele - if it did, then I would have saved my money! But it is robust. During the time I used it constantly up to 1999, I did some pretty awful things to it in hindsight (for example, putting s set of 13s on it to get a heavy rhythm thwack sound, when I was playing rhythm guitar in a group we had going at the time). Latterly I fiddled around with it putting in a jazz pickup (don't ask me why). Finally, when I knew that I was going to store it for a while, I returned it to its original condition. I have started using it again recently, for slide only - in open E tuning. It's not bad at all for slide either.

You will have no worries about gigging a 112 Pacifica. It's fine - it won't fall apart on you.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had any reason to contact Yamaha. ever had any problems withthis guitar.

Overall Rating : 10
The guitar I bought after a few years of having this was the cheapest Korean made Epiphone Firebird (I paid 210 pounds for it). I have always liked Firebirds, but this was a mistake. Perhaps the mose horrible guitar ever made. The difference was really just in the build quality. Both the Pacifica and the Epiphone Firebird were built in Korea, but at least Yamaha can screw pickups in straight! - and use decent wood and materials. I once opened up the control panel on the Firebird - what was inside would have embarrassed the electronics of a throwaway electric torch from the dollar store. I actually managed to sell the Firebird a few months ago - they seem to be back in fashion again. Good luck to the guy who bought it.

Yeah, after playing a USA made Fender a 112 Pacifica is going to feel inferior, but the price difference between the two is about #500.

If you a beginner guitarist, forget Chinese made Squier Stats, cheap brand imitations, rock bottom price Epiphones and that sort of thing - they're all absolute crap. This is the best guitar you can buy for under #200. It's as simple as that.

Ther guitar was made in the late 1990's in some asian country, I am not sure which. It has 22 frets and I belive it is natural dark wood coloured. There is a 5 way togle for switching between the humbucker and 2 x single coils.
The pickups are standard as they seem to give the sound I want, which is pretty much anything. I am not sure of the boyd but the fingerboard is rosewood. The pacifica is a double cut away shape much akin to the strat, but it looks alot better. The finders look like they have been melted at the edges. The trem is of vintage style, which kicks ass out of both the wilkinson and the floydrose.

Sound : 10
The guitar sounds great. For clean playing the neck pickup gives a really warm and cosy sound and for overdrive the humbucker gives imense distorion. I sounds great pretty much everywhere inbetween aswell.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar hasn't been adjusted since it left the factory, it came set up perfectly for my playing. the action isn't to low and the pickups seem to be great. The finish is excelent, a gorgous dark brown natuaral colour. There was no faults with the guitar at all and never has been. I also have 3 other pacificas which all came set up exactly the same and none of them have been touched since, only strings have been changed.

All my guitars get the roughest treatment on stage and I am always knocking the headstock into walls, amps and drums. never had any problems and I can't see that I ever will. The finsh has startd wearing off at the top of the body where my right arm rubs on it, but it hasn't rubbed off much and gets gigged a heck of a lot. The guitar is totally reliable and the only reason I carry a backup is incase I break a string.

I have dealt with the company on other issues and they are pretty good. You seem to get transfered to the deparment you want straight away and actually get to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about.

I have been playing guitar for 16 years now and have owned all kinds of guitar. But now I have settled with Yamaha and wouldn't play anything else. I have tried the Gibsons and the Fenders and would never play them again. If the guitar was stolen I would buy another one with the insurance money, although I don't really need to as I have 3 other pacificas sitting around and 12 Yamaha guitars in total.

For such a low price the guitat is fantastic, and as far as I am concerned plays and sounds better the both my mates #1000 Les Paul and #1500 Fender Strat. People that knopw me know how much I like these guitars and don't expect to see me play anything else. This is the best thing that Yamaha have ever made, and that incudes the higher model Pacificas.

1999, made in korea/japan, i'm sure. SSH config, 1 vol, 1 tone, 5 way selector. standard run of the mill cheap strat copy stuff.

Sound : 8
i bought this simply for practice/screwing around with. something to take around places so that the good axe doesn't get dinged/stolen/damaged. sounds are perfectly fine for what it's used for, although i did toss a duncan invader at the bridge which is super hot and shreds your ass off.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
the action isn't very fast, bridge is cheap, but i'm very comfortable with the neck. 22 frets, fingerboard isn't rosewood - some "exotic" crap" that just looks like it - and is pretty crummy for bending. frets are higher than i like.

Reliability/Durability : 8
the pots seem like it's either at 0 or 11. but, again, it's a $100 guitar so you can't complain. i have, however, beaten the crap out of it to no ill effect.

liek i said i bought this bad boy to decrease the margin of error for crap happening to my american dlx. strat. to be honest it's a hell of a guitar for 100 bucks. you get what you pay for - this is not a 1000 guitar. doesn't play like one, doesn't sound like one, doesn't hold up like one. BUT i would take this thing heads and tails over a squier or ibanez guitar of the same class any day. it's a super deal for someone looking for a first guitar or something to leave at mark's house because you know some drunk ass over there is going to want to play it so it's a lot better to let them mistreat this than it is to let them toss around your babylove guitar that you would choose over your girlfriend in a heartbeat. so if you want something to start with i'd recommend it a million times over. the best $100 axe on the market i'd say. if you're looking to play seriously then you'd be much happier saving up and plunking down a granny and getting a superior product.

in any case this guitar has as good or even a better price-to-product-worth ratio than anything else. you get a lot more for your hundo here than you will anywhere else.

You know the specs.... volume, tone, 5 way selector, SSH configuration, Alder body, Satin finish, strat body style except less rounded (better in my opinion), vintage style tremelo. Only somewhat dissappointed that there is only one tone selector. Humbucker has adjustable pole pieces! pickguard comes shielded behind volume and tone selector! Best guitar in my opinion for this price range.

Sound : 8
Has a nice clean sound on single coils (although it could be better). I play surf/punk songs and it has a nice glassy sound between a strat and a telecaster with the tone at 10. Not very unique though (but what is in this price range?). With the humbucker gets a nice distorted sound. WIDE VARIETY. Also very resonant and nice sound when not plugged in :-D.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
No flaws in the guitar, even though i bought it used. Great piece of work.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Very dependable. I'm keeping the one I have now as my backup and buying another one to customize. Mine's 5 years old and it still looks great except for a few dings in the finish (which is almost unavoidable). Wood somewhat soft, but hey, it's alder.

I love this guitar. I own a Vox Valvetronic amp and I am going to buy another Pacifica to customize. If it were stolen or lost, I would cry. Later when I was done I would buy another. I love the versitality, and the cleanness of it. In its price range, it smacks fender squiers and low range ibanez's up.

The humbucker is wicked spanking gorgeous, even if the single coil isnt as good as it could have been. I used to have a Liberty Strat (very light) with 3 single coils and i will NEVER go back to single coils! Humbucker is for me now. The Strat design is kinda cool with modifications. i like the bigger sticky out bits (forgot name) that makes it stand out from your average strat. The neck has a magical power to make u play better! i mean it, i can play a lot better on this than my Liberty!
Want it to sound better? Try a Zoom GFX 707, sweet little Multi-effects pedal.

Sound : 10
The humbucker REALLY picks up power chords great! Solos go nicely with it to. i havnt really used single coil much so i cant really judge it. The sound has a lot of bass and treble, good through a P.A. System. I cant see any improvements they can make!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The wood finish is so easy to disguise cuts and dents. All you need is the right varnish and you cant really see any problems. Hardware is fine, nothing wrong!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Tough guitar, takes a bit of hittin! I must get strap locks still! :) Perfect for concerts, looks great. I mean Gibson Les Pauls arnt used by many punk bands?! Light too, good with strap

I got this guitar as I got into a band. I used to have a Liberty Strat for #200, but now i upgraded to a nice Yamaha Pacifica, many a local guitarist has one round here! I used to envy the better guitars but now i got a good one. Jonny B the guy i got it off purchased a Les Paul Studio (we're both 15) which makes a VERY similar sound (played through a Zoom GFX-707 "POWER" patch). Im in a band called Feedback, u might hear from us!
My other mates got a Fender Telecaster and soundwise its not much different.

2000, Korean I think, standard 22 I think, solid wood blah blah... look at other reviews or www.yamaha.com for specs... All work fine wammy bar is a bit silly but then i don't use it.

then humbucker + single coils give lots of choice and beat the living crap out of the squier strats my mates have heh heh heh.. I play distorted stuff like nirvana and cleaner stuff like radiohead, muse, JJ72. Fulfils the task competantly. no hum except at high volumes but that's probably my tinitus after playing song 2...woohoo.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Came out of the box with almost perfect tuning, pickups were fine, asked a friend with posh tuner gadget and my intonation was good too

I've used this guitar for three years starting as a beginner. It's 22 frets, five position pickup selector, tone and volume knobs have been sufficient for this level of play. I can get a wide variety of sounds. It has been very solid, holding in tune even with gig bag transportation to and from lessons. It needs a stand. The 5 o'clock position of the amp plug means that when you set it down on the flow the amp wire is stressed.

Sound : 8
I play classic rock from America to Led Zeplin. This guitar can produce enough variety. I am very happy with the sound. This guitar does not sound as good as my instructor's guitars - a Les Paul and a Telecaster. I bought it as a package with a Fender Frontman amp.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I have seen no flaws and have had no technical problems. I cannot be sure how much of the set up was done at the factory or at the store but it all seemed to be well done and I've done nothing except replace strings over three years.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Three years of trouble free playing. 100% home use except for gig bag transportation to and from lessons.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No contact with the company.

Overall Rating : 9
I have been very satisfied and would replace it if lost. The guitar was very inexpensive, looks good with it's blond wood grain finish, it is tough, and seems relatively easy to play. I would recommend it to any beginner.

I play mostly metal these days and i love this guitar, this might sound strange but i love this guitar,i;m using a fender half stack with a crate head and zoom gfx-707,i added a pair of 52 strings onto becasue i love thick strings and the sound i beautiful.i'm looking for a new guitar but all the others just can't get me away form mine,i'm probalyl going to customize mine with a more radical look

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
It was perfect when i got it,no flaws really..i had to lower my bridge because of my thick strings but other than that it feels good

Reliability/Durability : 8
well i'm playing guitar live now and i noticed the strap buttoms were letting my strap come off a bit so i used a poor mans way of fixing it with ducktape.i would defintly use this guitar live without a backup

i've been playing four years with this guitar and it;s lasted so long and it hasn't shown any major flaws except for a few scratches because of hitting doorways and stuff ,the best thing i like about this guitar is the sound it makes and the nice neck it's got,it fits right into my hand
