1986 Dreadnought,( Yamaha website states that this is the only year that this model was made). Solid Spruce top with laminated rosewood back and sides. Made in Taiwan. Yamaha tuners..similar to grovers? Nice inlays and trim. Very nice looking guitar. I agree with the other review about wishing that it had the solid rosewood, but what can you expect for the price. The tone one is actually very similar to my Yamaha LL500, six string, handmade, solid rosewood.

Great for strumming...Nice even bass through treble. Very rich, full sound. I usually fingerpick on the six string but this makes for a nice full accompaniment instrument. I hate overly glowing evaluations but the sound is a definite ten.

Action was fine. Owned this one for fifteen years before the tuners started to loosen up. Should have come with a bone nut and saddle, but these are easily replaced. Finish looks as good as day one, except for the inevitable yellowing of the spruce top.

Very dependable. Very solid guitar. Finish has stood the test of time. I expect this guitar to be around for a very long time.

Second owner...No experience with Yamaha except through the website, which is loaded with information if you know how to get where you want to go. Slow to answer email questions.

Been playing for 24 years. Own another Yamaha, model LL500 six string rosewood handmade that I just bought...a Bay State Rosewood parlor guitar Ca.1890...Vega banjos...Martin Uke...Gibson Mandolins and a few misc other acoustics.Owned an Ovation but traded away due to mediocre sound. This is the second of three Yamaha guitars that I've owned. My first was stolen. I've always tried to buy USA products, but haven't found anything that holds a candle to the sound/value of the nicer Yamahas.

A solid top 12 string with ply piece laminate rosewood back and sides, very nice abolony inlay around sound hole and in binding, bound neck, ebony fretboard and bridge, abolony snowflake inlays on fretboard. Made in the early 80's, origannly sold for around $800. I give it a 9 only because it is not all solid wood.

This is a very sweet sounding 12 string, I would put it up against anything made today in the $500-$1500 and I have played most of them, I like it so well I was trying to find the matching 6 string but ended up getting a taylor instead. This guitar is as easy to play as the taylor 12 string, which is supposed to be the easiest, I keep it tuned down 1/2 step and capo it as you should always do with any 12 string if you want it to last, but do tune it up for live gigs or recording. One great sounding 12 string!

When I got it the guitar was set up pretty well, tweaked the truss rod a bit that made it perfect! For a guitar that was 15 years old when i got it, it was in like new condition! the nut had been replaced witha bone one, not a real pretty job but the adjustment of it was great and that is what matters

this guitar is about as well built an acoustic as you can find, for a 12 string there is no noticable belly of the top and the neck adjusted right in. I'm sure it will still be played long after I am gone....lol again a 9 for not being all solid wood.

If theis guitar were lost or stolen I would do my very best to try and find another, sure I could get a Taylor that also sounds great, but not for around $200, and for that you get a 12 string guitar that sounds as sweet and rich as a 12 string should!
